What price a Blackstone/Cork/Liverpool treble?

Looking forward to the game V Ballyvolane - two crackers last year. We should have won up there and they probably should have won out in our place. 2 draws were the results.

Both teams seem to have improved since then, and there are one or two friends crossing swords!!

The FAI Junior Cup has never really been good to us, and we still await our away trip to Donegal!

HORSE i saw a game between ballyvolane and leeds a few weeks ago and they were excellent ,garry nolan is a major signing for them think yee will have yere work cut out to beat them,.saw yee last season and would describe yee as dogged,,think they might have more match winners in their side.

Shetland, no prices on our game so just my 7/1 double!!

Bieber, dogged isnt a bad word. Maybe we are a bit more than that but I get your point. Our workrate is one of our strenghts definetly, but our front 5 especially are playig some great stuff at the moment.I dont think either team is silly enough to underestimate the other after the two games last year. The one up there was ferocious - great fun!

Mossie Lin Cup

Gratton 1-2 Bohs

What can i say about this only that the score dose nt come near to what it really could of been, the game could of easily finished 5 -1 to us we tore them apart today and from what i could see they were missin maybe 1 player. There keeper Lofty had a stormer and made 4 great saves
Gratts started the better but we came into more and hit the crossbar and had a great shot saved but got the opener after about 25 mins from our striker Deccie Gostal (former gratts player).Stayed 1-0 until half time
Started slow again but came into more and scored again from deccie to make it 2 nil after about 60 mins.there keeper again made a few good saves and we looked comfortable until the last 2 mins when we conceded a soft consilation goal but held out for a great win.Into the quarter finals now.......
Oh ya all the predictions above WRONG...... away win to the BOHS!!!

Great win scaffa!!we got beat 5-2 today,im feeling abit better!
We got beat 1-0 against gratten and we should have won that won aswel!
I honestly think they will stuggle this year!
On our game, greenwood totally deserved there victory!!2-2 and we had man sent off, went downhill after that!
Infairness casilles predited ye won win,and after playing both teams i fancied ye today!
But saying that they were already top of group so it be hard for them to get up for the game!

Blackstone 1 v 5 Ballyvolane

I didn't make the game. One down in 30 seconds. Man down in twenty mins. Two one at the break. Never got going. Not allowed to get going. John c and paddy in middle for Bally were excellent. Well deserved win. Shetland, I offer one piece of advice. Mutual respect between the sides may be affected by things like accusing us of being a one man team and laughing at our players in the second half today. Don't burn your bridges on the way up, you need them on the way down!

Good win Scaffa was surprised by how well ye guys played if im bein honest very positive play from the start and well tuned in to the job in hand!! as for Grattan ive been to alot of there games over the years and never seen them play so bad!! defensively they where all over the shop and attacking they where twice as bad!! then again lets call a spade a spade i think it was just one of those days where the hungrier team that needed the points wanted it more.

Horse i heard alot about Ballyvolane over the last few weeks about them and how good they were going forward and hitting a well organised team like ye for 5 comfirms it but how good are they overall?? are they good at the back??

Macroom B 2 Village United 2 (Village win 4-2 on penalties)

Macroom B so nearly pulled off a giant killing when they took premier A side Village United all the way before losing on penalites.

In fact, the home side can feel slightly aggrieved that they found themselves out of this prestigous competition. The home side started brightly, and Village were not allowed the time they wanted on the ball. Patrick Burns and Barry Fitzgerald led from the front, making sure the Village defence did not get the time they wanted on the ball. Both sides were getting plenty of set plays, with first Macroom forcing a series of corners and free kicks, but to no avail. Then the away side got their share, again the scoreline remained deadlocked. The home side hit the front, when a superb long ball from Peter Burns found the energetic Barry Fitzgerald, whose chest set him up perfectly to sublimely chip the onrushing keeper Graham Murphy in the Village net on 27. Daniel Downey was causing all sorts of problems on the left flank with his direct running. The premier A side seemed shocked and Macroom continued to snuff out their danger from set plays. The home side nearly got their second, when a Patrick Burns effort was well saved on 31. They did however get their second on 33, when a free kick from John Ronan came back off the wall to him, and he lashed his volley passed Murphy to set up a great platform for the B's. The feeling was if they could hold their two goal lead until half time, the upset was on. But Village did get one back before half time, when a free kick was deflected off the Macroom wall into the path of Thomas Dinian, who finished well.

The second half found Village enjoying a lot of possession, but Macroom were defending resolutely, and trying to hit Village on the break.Eric Cambridge and Ian Long were performing well, and were enjoying more possession as the half wore on. Village got their equaliser on 72, when it was Ian Long who found some space on the right flank, and his cross come shot found the top corner. A great goal. Village were pressing now, and had a few long range efforts easily saved. Macroom had Burns to thank in goals for giving them extra time, when he pulled off an excellent reaction save to deny Kieran O'Callaghan's header. Extra time was even, with both side continuing with some excellent on the ground football. Denis Cronin was unlucky when he just ran out of grass after being played through by a brilliant Brendan O'Mahony pass. Patrick Burns had a chance to win it for Macroom, but his shot was snuffed out by an excellent tackle from Derry O'Gorman. Penalties were required with Village winning out in the lottery. An excellent combative free flowing game, with best performers for Macroom all fourteen men, with the same for Village.

Yes indeed a few nice AOH ties.

When you anticipate cup draws, of course you want a team from your own division or a lower division.
So, in theory, we had 10 teams we didnt want in the three cups................

Ballyvolane, Wilton & Grattan!! I worked it out to be a 1000/1 shot that we would draw 3 Premier sides.

The Grattan game is one to look forward to - the fear beag and his buddies. We had a good tussle in pre-season & we both had similar late disapointments to Leeside recently. We are over our defeat of last weekend now, it hurts a bit still for me because we didnt do ourselves justice.

So we head into the Wilton game at the weekend and beyond to O Neill Park with the belief we can get something in both games. Two really hard games, but these are the kinda games you want in football.

Mario, when we took Villa players when the club folded, the fine came with them. That rule is a complete contradiction and a crap one. The player is fined, but the club is responsible. So how come the fine came to us with the players???

In your case, Rule 19(a) says no player can move unless he satisfies all financial claims of the club for which he has last played.

Maybe because it happened last season, and at the end of the season all players become free agents - it could be a loophole. I dunno.

He should pay his fine though - he got sent off. If ye want him, then maybe ye should pay it, but what chance he is gonna pay ye if he didnt pay them? We didnt get all the Villa money from the players!!!

Bohemians 2-0 Castleview

Good win today and a good 3 points against a young Castleview team.Could of been 2 or 3 up after the first 15 mins a great start infairness to us but we did nt punish Castleview with those chances. They should have taken the lead after 25 mins but their forward put it wide when being one on one. That gave us the wake up call we needed and we took our chance when Christy Drisscoll scored on 40mins to put us 1 up

2nd half we started well again and scored after about 55 mins when Deccie Gostel scored his 4th goal of the season with a very confident finish. We seemed to die after that and got a bit sloppy and only for our keeper Dave Cronin and some last ditch challenges from our centre half Midgy Boo the game could have been a lot different. So thats us still unbeaten this season and look forward to our next game which i think is Ballyvolane in the quarters of the Mossie Lin.........
