Ola, i really think you lose a bit of your logic when Shetland puts up a post and just fly back at him without clear thought. How can sharpshooter pass clear judgement on the process when he is part of the squad and hoping for selection?? REPERCUSSIONS!!!!!!! Shetland can speak without fear of reprimand.

If you analyse my posts Overthehill you will see i dont lose any bit of my logic - all my posts are carefully thought out (for fear of legal action to be honest!!) Sharpshooter actually attends the sessions so surely he'd have a better idea of what is going on than someone who has just said he couldnt care less what happens

So sharpshooter cant pass judgement on the selection process but you can ?? I really have to start ignoring you! Your rational is BIZARRE to say the least!

ola whats your problem.,sharpshooter and you are part of this and are going to support the set up and the manager .,as hill said your defending your corner.,my comments are from an outsider looking in thats all.as i see it if i say black you will say white anyway.oppinions differ with us all but you hve to refer to spelling mistakes the bieber comment ,club hopping.,in your posts to me.my comment about your clubs wasnt meant as a dig ,it was that three clubs each could have differnt rules with reguards transfers.ours has always been the same. and you round off your last post with the word bizzare.why ? because you dont agree /. the set up has been slated all weekend by a lot of posters but its i get the wrap for it.

Who are you kidding - it was a dig pure and simple!!

if it was possible i'd like to see the forum from the year the AUL won it - as far as i can remember the selection process was slated then too - no pleasing some people!! It wasnt won for 43 years before then so whats the reason for that 43 year barren spell??? As you are around longer shetland maybe you could shed some light on that for me?

So Shetland as someone with 32 years of experience of AUL football (thats longer than i've been on this planet by the way!!) why dont you put your name forward - As far as i can see you should either do something about it or be quiet - you're like a BROKEN RECORD
i told you im not interested in the job not now or ever. i gave two names earlier that are aul supporters through and through. looks like hill can see your problem with me as well.

Lads maybe its a little too early to be talking of next years manager but think we'd have a few candidates. We have members who won the Oscar trainer and also managed it before, maybe they could be consulted or be part of the set up. We have a few guys who have managed our senior and junior team, not Patsy, and they've been reasonably successful. Also they have a few of the coaching courses under their belt. Hopefully the AUL win wed nite but I think the MSL junior division are improving over the last few years.

ola ive said it wasnt a dig .,managers and players come and go all the time,,ive given my explanation to that, believe what you want to.i wasnt one who slated mintys team anyway, they were a very good side and deserved what the got. i think littleman was involved as well.i would say it is hard to please everyone with team selection,,its the manager and his conflict of interest is my grivence, and he doesnt see enough aul games.sur maybe we could ask billy cronin or phill harrington to do it next year.could you see msl give the job to an aul man .definately not.

Must of missed the report on leeside game the other day. Cant really comment on the kick/stamp to the head or the brawl incidents as i walked into the pitch when brawl had just finished. But what i seen from there on in is all can say was an absoulte and total utter disgrace. consistant bad challenging and kicking from the 2 centre backs and other centre mid during the second half, and a few leg and ankle breakers in those tackles, all where booked and v v lucky not to be sent off, relastocally they should have finished with 6. alec nodwell had to be taken off as he was a target after calls from the knockavilla line to "sort and destroy the munber 6".
2-0 and another 3 points and no injuries (how i dont know) the main thing. Pity for there left back to playin with that as he is a good player and well able to play football.
On another note, fai umbro ball robbed and carted off in booth of car and the best thing i ever seen was that 1 of the corner flags had a leeside crest on it, the 1 flag that went missing from leeside park last year!!!!! now come on....

That's very annoying. With the current climate we are in, every club in the league is finding it hard to generate income to keep going, but are things that bad ???

Folks, can you clarify something for me please. The closure of the transfer window at the end of the month means clubs can't sign players from other clubs until the season is completed. However, what if the player is a free agent ? as in he did not sign for any club in any league during the current season. Can this player register with a club after January 31st or is there just a total ban on signing new players after this date.

I'm almost certain that it is ok to sign a free agent if he has not signed any form that season.

Just to clarify that there is NO boycott of the Cork AUL team by Kinsale players!!!

We just have not received as many invitations as we have in previous years, in spite of our impressive start to the season.

I could suggest plenty of players on our team that I think are worthy of a place in the AUL squad but that's just pub talk.
The manager's opinion is the only one that counts.

Best of luck to Niall and the lads on wednesday night.
Hopefully our friend sharpshooter will bring his scoring boots.:ball:

It's just something we were discussing last night at training. No one, including our secretary, seemed to be 100% sure on the regulation and there doesn't appear to be any clear definition of the rules in the A.U.L. rulebook.

I think i asked before onefootednopace - and as far as i can remember it is the end of March - a quick phonecall to someone in the AUL should answer it - or you could just pretend you thought he was on the master form (sorry couldnt resist shetland!!)

Jesus lads thats embarressing enough the pink pages!!

After he stated a few week back on the aul site that....

'' When recruiting new players we don't want just anybody that can fill the gap''

'' I've set myself some goals that only I and the committee know and we will keep them close to our chest for the time being''

''Some people might think the club is on its knees, but nothing could be further from the truth in fact the club has just climbed the first rung on the way back to the top. The club is in the ascension.''

Well if the pink pages is what he had close to his chest well in afraid the club is on his knees.
Sad really.......

Lads, on the AUL manager using his position to get players to Bandon, did Minty take one at least to Casement with him after the win? Its upto every manager to use his connections surely? He laughed when I told him the other day that he sits at home wondering which AUL players he can steal for Bandon!

Thats crap - stealing from another club. If that is true - the AUL should throw them out. Its that serious. It might only be a ball or a corner flag or whatever, but its the principle. 90% of our board meetings talking about fundraising and these clubs robbing from another. We were out in CIT the other day V Pearse and one of our guys went over a ditch after our ball - spotted one of theirs that we couldnt reach. We marked the spot and went and told their line. Why? Cos every club is struggling.

Thanks nononsense. As a matter of interest, is that ruling listed on any A.U.L. handbook/ rulebook? We had a look in the A.U.L. rule book (it was the 09/10 season version..maybe it was updated for the current season) the other night and could not see any reference to this. All we could find was - Rule 19 (g) No transfer/ cancellation of registration shall be granted after January 31st in any season.

I am not familiar with the Cork A.U.L. rulebook. It is an F.A.I. rule and, as you probably know, F.A.I. rules supersede affiliated leagues' rulebooks.

Well done to the AUL team tonight. You can only play whats in front of you and the MSL side was very poor. I went away at half time when AUL were 3-0 up. MSL hardly had an attempt on goal. Dave Lordan Kilumney in Goal for AUL must have been freezing. Looks like second half was a bit more competitive - were a few more lads given a run Ola? As i said a win is a win- far tougher tests ahead.
