"Shuttle",Two girls returning from holidays take the airport bus into town but the driver takes them on a bit of a detour, adult film whilst no sex scenes there's a very strong sexual threat to the girls for a long time in the film and there's a fair bit of blood in it. 8/10

Finally got to see "Sexy Beast",weird name for a really good crime film with outstanding performances from Ray Winstone & Ben Kingsley, the Spanish dream still alive in this movie.
I loved it. 9.5/10

Iron Man 2, thought it was class, maybe not as witty in some part as the first one was, but its deffinately one of the better sequels ive seen,

ive seen part 1 about 20 times so i couldnt make an absoulute call on it but is was fairly on par,

5/5, but dont go in expecting the world, its a fun film thats not made for oscar nominations,

Re-watched "The Boys from Brazil" to show some folks how a good concept can make for an interesting movie. I'd forgotten how well Olivier played the Weisenthal-type character, and how Peck was hammy but very scary. The one thing that always stuck in my mind about the movie was the little Paraguayan boy who purposely looks up through the gate and at Peck, then later in the film the same look but very different - thank to Mengele.

Going to watch The Informant and Green Zone this weekend. Saw Green Zone online but wasn't overly impressed, just hoping the big screen does it justice.

The first film Chris Morris (Brasseye, The Day Today) has ever made is just out. Four Lions is worth a watch if you're not the type to find a funny depiction of incompetent suicide bombers offensive. Limited release though.

The Descent pt2- I liked the first one, but this one is too much like the original, they keep working the whole claustraphobic vibe and the plot twists are pretty ponderous. Not recommended, but I guess if you saw the first and liked it you'd want to check it out.

Edge of Darkness- Decent revenge flick, Mel Gibson is a Boston cop out to solve his daughter's murder, Mel isn't aging too well, I guess it's the booze. I had just watched The Proposition and then this movie and Danny Huston and Ray Winstone pop up again, strange.

The Daybreakers- a decent(again), dark and stylish horror/vampire flick set in the future, with politcal overtones, nothing "Twighlight" about it.

District 13-Ulitmatum- sequel to District 12, I already forgot most of the movie, so that's how bad I thought it was, watch it with subtitles if you rent it and don't speak French, because it's probably the worst dubbed movie I've ever seen.

Iron Man was really good give it 5/5 easily the only drawback i would say was the length of the fight at the end, Didn't do Mickey Rourke justice at all, Also about Shutter Island he wasn't still mad at the end!!! He said would you rather die a good man or live as a monster before they took him away to be lobotomised, so what i got from it was he'd just realised what he'd done and coulsdn't live with himself so he lied so thety'd take him away , neway coul;d be wrong like

Robin Hood was rather off the plot, but fun nonetheless. I had the advantage of going to see it with a friend whose volume control seemed out of whack in the cinema - she asked out loud "This isn't right, who's Robin is Loxley, and Maid Marion was never married, she was a maiden". My Masters thesis was from c. 1200-1500 and I can honestly say the history was way off, but for a good night out it's fun. I love the attempt to grab a bigger audience share with the walking Paddy Irishman, Paddy Scotsman, Paddy Englishman and Paddy Welshman gag!

Saw Four Lions with my sister on Monday, very good movie, slow in a way, odd, but very funny. One of the best lines is: Was he a martyr or a f@@king jalfrezi? Also there's one tiny line, when they're slagging off the decadent west, and one of the characters, off camera, says "f''k them baby bells". 6/10

Julia Roberts is supposed to be a lookalike playing Julia Roberts who bumps into Willis, the "real" Roberts knows Willis.

Really? I thought it was passable at best. Nothing to especially recommend about it at all.
Ben Kingsley and Albert Molina were both wasted. Kingsley must be on speed dial whenever a role calls for someone who looks looks vaguely middle-eastern and can speak with an English accent. Molina is basically playing some dodgy east end car dealer, only with ostriches instead of cars. Gyllenhaal was decent in the lead, but his stunts clearly weren't done by him, and that ruined some of the more impressive ones for me. Arterton is decent eye candy but that's all she is.

sets the standard early for the summer of team-based action films - The A-Team, The Expendables, and Predators (sort of)
probably a bit of counter programming involved in it coming out the same week as sex and the city 2

9/10 -Watched "The Pledge" again last night,Jack Nicholson was his usual brilliant self as a cop who's retiring but on the night of his retirement "do" he goes out to the scene of the murder of an 8 year old girl.He ends up breaking the awful news to the parents and the mother of the dead girl makes Nicholson's character pledge to find the killer.Nicholson still has to retire but takes up the hunt for the killer in his own time.

Good support from Benicio Del Toro (too brief) and Robin Wright Penn, directed by Sean Penn, the ending stops me giving it 10/10.

Saw "Get him to the Greek" today. Very funny in parts, but the fat yank jewish lad is just a bit overdone at this stage. Russell Brand is hilarious at times and plays the part very well. Colm Meaney has a very funny cameo, and Puff Daddy is the best in show - taking the absolute p out of himself and made the movie. It was a ripped copy and unfortunately from an american cinema, so they laughed at the gross out parts (like superbad etc), and some of the nuances, which were laugh out loud funny, were treated with silence. Glad I didn't shell out a few euros to see it in the cinema. 5/10

I saw Predators and Shrek last week in the cinema. I liked both. Predators had plenty of action, not overstated and a good enough cast especially Adrien Brody, he'd be good to do more action films, the ending was an anti-climax but reasonable.
I quite enjoyed Shrek, the comedy wasn't elaborate and the story was quite good, Puss and Boots was a scene stealer again and a great scene with pinocohio which made me laugh a lot. Good ending to the series.

"A Prophet"-Tough French film set in prison,a guy gets six years in prison and goes in relativley innocent in the ways of prison life but soon learns it's kill or be killed. He soon gets to work on setting up his own empire inside.

There's shades of other prison films here but that's unavoidable, great acting and very realistic violence make it compulsive viewing if this type of movie is your thing.

"Moon"-Interesting science fiction about a guy working on a mining plant on the moon who gets an unexpected shock after waking up after crashing his moon buggy,a bit slow in parts but if you like space films you'll like it,bear in mind no monsters or alien type things in this and if you're more into horror you might be disapointed.7.5/10

I saw Inception yesterday, and like one of the posters above all I knew was that there was nothing really to know about before going in. It is excellent. One of the best films I've ever seen. Cotillard (sp?) was doing my head in, and the way it turned out made me smile. The cast was fantastic, and I can't really fault any of the performances. Hardy is a fine actor, and grudgingly, so too is Di Caprio.

Chris Nolan is really really dining at the top table now.

Go see it, you won't be disappointed.
