Derry now have this game under control, just need the goals.

The fall of Belarussian football continues - from having BATE Borisov get four points in a Champions League group of Roma, Barcelona and Leverkusen just nine years ago, they're now dropping to 54th in the UEFA rankings, ahead of only San Marino

And Isloch of Belarus are just after losing 1-0 at home (well, in Hungary) to La Fiorita of San Marino to send their tie to extra time; the goal coming in the 87th minute. La Fiorita had just three draws to show from their 26 European games to date.

Late goals also the undoing of the Welsh sides - Bala conceded in the 120th minute to lose 3-2 on aggregate, while Connah's Quay conceded in the 88th minute against Bravo of Slovenia to send the tie to extra time.

It was one of those when it was neither a penalty or a dive, maybe I’m wrong but that’s what it looked like to me…

Like what? Feigning injuries at Tolka, refusing to give the ball back at Tolka after our defender Wilson sportsmanly put the ball out of play while their player was dead with a head injury who also magically jumped up when the ball went out, coaching staff stirring it at Tolka causing a near fracas, assuring Shels of streaming and then going back on their assurance and then stringing that out until the day of the match until completely withdrawing, smashing Sean Boyd's face with an elbow

I've head things about the ticket distribution and prices but I'll hold them off on that until I hear a straight story. Good riddance to the term 'St. Joseph's' unless we are ever that unlucky to draw them again in future
That's exactly what we've been asking actually, yes ;)

Thought the second yellow for a dive for Rovers in Iceland was a tad harsh but that one for Derry today was spot on.

O Reilly actually could have been sent off for his yellow imo. A high boot trying to win the ball after an awful throw in from Derry.

Problems all of their own making just after they'd seen to take some control of the game. Magpies hadn't strung 3 passes together in the 15 minutes leading up to the sending off.

Hobans disallowed goal and booking seemed harsh from the one replay I saw.

Red card could kill them, a stupid one too, I think he was fouled, but he flopped flamboyantly enough to give the ref a decision, ref probably could have just played on instead, no need to send someone off in the 1st half for so little.

How they lost 2-0 out there to this lot I'll never know.

It's still annoying me that Belarusian teams weren't turfed out on their arses. They shouldn't be near European sport after their antics in 2022.

Half time at Linfield, they're playing Rolling Stones' "I got the Blues" from the Sticky Fingers album, I suppose that song can have meaning both ways for them

I don't see you advocating the same for Israeli or UK teams. Either you are consistant or zip it.

I think derry would be better served not going down looking for frees and penos every 30 seconds. They have the measure of the opposition and need to be a bit patient, the chance's will definitely come.

San Marino side won 4-2 on penalties. An Andorran side won 5-1 tonight too. Europe is full of landmines at the early stages of the competition.

Linfield did show a bit in that game this evening, nevertheless Stjarnan gifted them two of their goals. Stjarnan had about 50 from their fans club called Silver Spoon (club is in a wealthy area). They outshouted Linfield's all game.

Both teams look very sloppy at the moment.
Oh and just as I type Magpies have a goal. Cracking shot out of nothing from 30 yards comes off the bar and a lad pounces on the rebound. Derry didn’t seem in trouble then that came out of nowhere.

18/07/2024, 9:11 PM
Oh crikey. Just turned on the stream and all. Derry defence asleep to the rebound off the bar. Great initial shot in fairness but have to be alert to second ball.

9 minutes to go to turn this around. Copenhagen hardly daunted either way I'm sure.
