Although it is in one of the bits of Wales that the English nicked. You even see streets in Oswestery with Welsh language names.
Doesn’t sound out of character for the English to nick territory !

Rovers second leg in Malta will be shown on the RTÉ News channel.
To say that is a weird bit of scheduling is an under-exaggeration.

Bohs unlucky to lose 2 to 1 in Berlin. They should be able to go through if they play well in the home leg.
Bohs fans on social media enjoying the pat on the head from Union Berlin for turning up.. bohs board will be pleased , East Berlin is still semi communist. Onward to victory for the commisariat
I see a couple of Bohs fans ended up in hospital after being attacked over there.

To say that is a weird bit of scheduling is an under-exaggeration. RTÉ Two is the current home of the Women's Euro 2022. The GAA is switching to RTÉ One. Better to be shown than not to be shown at all.

That’s surprising, the Germans never hurt anyone.

Thugs are thugs and I doubt would think friendly game so will take a break from being a thug. Not very often but on an odd occasion at games on the continent as neutrals we'd to point out we werent English or we could have been in trouble. Is it possible that a similar assumption was made, that English/Irish meh close enough. I hope the injured are all ok and have gotten home. Maybe a Bohs fans could give a quick update?

Hope the injured Bohs fan is ok. It should be noted however that it wasn’t Union Berlin fans involved in the attack, any wrong doing was carried out by *checks notes* Wrexham fans

The away goal would be massive for us if they were still a thing, but we are more than capable of winning at home.

It was Gerard Farrell too, who does all the Bohs history stuff. Crazy for a meaningless pre-season friendly.
I was on a stag do in Berlin 5yrs ago, and when we were on a bierkeller night the 2 tables next to us were all massive blokes who looked like nasty pieces of work (plus one quite attractive woman). We were all speculating that they were either ex-cons or hooligans and trying to avoid them, until one of our group beered up decided to go over and ask them. Turns out they were a Union Berlin hooligan group celebrating their main guy's birthday (the woman was his girlfriend). They were massive and not the kind of characters you'd mess with.

Ah no FFS, I had the pleasure of talking to Gerard a good number of years back when looking for background history/info for a Sport Council (as it was called then) community/sports development initiative that was in the planning stages. He was a great help and went above and beyond what needed for what we required. I was in my element reading through the material provided with sharing personal stories of LoI experiences. I really hope he is ok and will recover well. Was the Wrexham connection mentioned above genuinely involved or a bit of a dig at the connection. Really LoI fans pose such little threat abroad you'd wonder why anyone would waist effort doing something like this. If it turns that there were hooligans from other clubs that tagged on and would look for trouble them it make some kind of sense on how it could happen. What was the purpose of the trip in the first place - wouldnt have been cheap for a simple friendly never mind all the potential jibes at carbon credits needed.

Getting back to teams who are playing in Europe for a reason, what is the best scenario we can hope for this week for LOI teams? I'd assume Rovers should go through, Derry have it all to do it seems, and Sligo are the personification of flakey at home so.. 2 wins for Rovers & Sligo and Derry nick a draw for the coefficient. With pats entering next week it would be good to have at least 2 teams in the conference, with the chance of Rovers joining later on in the rounds. Hopefully all can represent LOI well in European competition.

All rovers have to do is not concede early. They are bound to come out firing but weather the first 15 mins and the game dies off.
No excuses. Sligo have no excuses either Bala are worse that hibs and should be put away at home. Derry I can't see doing anything other than losing badly.

Pats got a tough draw. Mura are 2-1 up from the first leg in Moldova so will almost certainly be our opposition. Last year they got to the group stages and, although they only took 3 points, those came from beating Spurs. We'll hope to turn them over at home but to get through the tie is a huge ask.

Rovers playing within themselves, can't argue with it at the moment but I'd like to see us push on a but and try to kill the game. That being said another 20 mins of keeping shape and its up to them to start going kamikase

Probably conserving energy and they don’t need to chase the game. Hibs very wasteful so far over the 2 legs. Bit like LOI sides tend to be.

Tactically its spot on from Rovers. They dont need to do anything except keep them at arms length, let them chase the game and then maybe try picking them off when they throw all up front. Much like LoI side have had done to them many times, and as Ger said Hibs wasteful and will rue hitting the woodwork in Tallaght and that chance before HT tonight, but if they did score I think Rovers would shift up a gear.

They played in 30+ degrees in Luxembourg in 2015 as well - drew 0-0 out there and won 3-0 at home; fairly handy overall.
There's no need to exert themselves out there which is great, so 0-0 is quite possible.
Stupid lack of putting money on myself...
Rovers have done the stereotypical professional job, but Ludogorets aren't going to lose any sleep over either performance I think (who seem also to be engaged in a professional 0-0 performance in Montenegro at the moment).

Brutal watch but lovely to be so bored in a European game for the right reasons and great to see Byrne and Burke back in the squad. We were a sloppy though and will need to be way more clinical when we create chances on the break against better sides. Towell being offside for his chance was criminal and Greene really should be getting a shot away. Watts was wasteful in the final third as well but with Jack back we will be better there hopefully. And Burke is the best finisher at the club now so he will be a better option than Greene moving forward.

They are capable and if they score first and not too late ye never know. There is enough European experience dotted about their squad to be patient enough to try and pick off goals and not going all out attack too early and coughing up any hope they had. Bit like the cup for sides struggling in the league, its a chance to forget about their domestic form, they have little to lose so just go and play with some sense of freedom.

I'm not giving up on this but really can't see us going through.

Offside twice I think. Once for the pass out wide and again for the pass to him. Really careless.
From a form point of view that performance was a bit concerning really, particularly given how poor Hibs were in the first leg. Puts a lot of pressure on the home games to not be able to win in Malta.
But as said already (by me and others) let's take it as job done and hope there's another gear when required

I was at the game PS and believe me there wasn't the slightest hint of concern on the pitch. The most concerning thing was the model airplane doing loop the loops next door and the fact that the bar under the stand had vodka redbulls for €2.50..
The ground made a small fortune in the bar from thirsty Hoops
It was a professional performance from the team and good experience for organised defending which one assumes will be required against Ludogrets.

Ye were never in danger of going out - or even losing - for sure, and I can understand (indeed, even predicted) the desire to save energy in warm conditions with a healthy first-leg advantage.
But it would have been nice all the same to show something that'd give active hope, if not for Ludogorets (who are a properly good team), for the other two bites at the cherry to get into the group stage, and that a repeat of the Flora debacle isn't a possibility.
That's trying to find the downside of course. A game against a better team will naturally push the side more, so as I say, hopefully there's another gear there when required.
