I have full faith in the home Bala performance levels turning up
We should do a Euro predictions comp one of the years. It'd be carnage.
Nah Nah Nah Nah

And now they’re saying it won’t be

Im not exactly a well wisher today but I don't wish pats and sligo any specific harm.....would be nice to see some SPL heads rethinking their world view and pats deserve to go through after last week's performance.

To be fair I don't really see any Scots adjusting their opinion of the LOI based on the game today. Similar to how most of us would have only looked at Bala's win through the prism of Sligo being a disgrace instead of giving any credit to the league in Wales.
If Sligo can get to half time with a clean sheet I can see Motherwell cracking under the pressure.
Really hard to know how the Pat's game will go, Mura were very average in Dublin last week but you'd have to expect they'll be a different animal at home.

What a hit from Blaney. Great scenes of the Showgrounds going crazy. Hopefully they can see it through.

Sligo lucky to avoid red there. They'll need to keep their heads and avoid dumb mistakes if they're to get through.

Sligo's goal. Maybe you could say the keeper shouldn't be beaten from there, but it's a superb strike.

Pats started well. Barry Cotter misses an absolute sitter (again) Free header from the six yard line. Then a point blank save from Annang saves us. Phew.

WiFi not working so well in Albania keep the score updates here till I sort it. Few friends sent on videos from Sligo beforehand looks class.

At the risk of getting ahead of things, the winners of Sligo v Motherwell will play the winners of Viking v Sparta Prague, which is 10 minutes away from going to extra time; it's 1-1 on aggregate.
Pat's or Mura will play CSKA Sofia, who are 3-0 on Makedonija with 10 to go.

Pat's are looking very comfortable in Mura, they have a chance here.

Sligo need to get to halftime here. Committing too many silly fouls in their half and rushing their passes.

BATE Borisov 2-0 down to Konyaspor in Turkey; 5-0 on aggregate.
Belarus are plummeting down the rankings lately. 21st after 2018, but provisionally 50th for 2024 (that's with the rest of this season and all of next season still to come). BATE have been knocked out in the first round three years in a row now, as have Dinamo Minsk and Shakhtyar Soligorsk (who both beat Derry in recent years).
I think there was a row recently and the Government pulled a lot of funding for the domestic league. Some fall though.
Soligorsk were also involved in one of the weirder European campaigns of recent years; after beating Derry 3-2 (losing at home), they then beat a Slovakian side 7-2 and Zenit St Petersburg 4-0 at home. But they lost 4-0 away, pulled one back in extra time to be ahead on away goals, conceded two more in the last ten minutes - and in fact two more again in injury time to lose 8-1 after extra time.

Yep, very even game. If we don’t do anything silly we are well in this.

Keena should have Sligo 2 up there....
Half time. Great stuff from Pats. Have as much possession as I can remember from an Irish side in an away European game. Barry Cotter with a terrible miss, but on the flip side they had a reasonable penalty shout, and a one on one with the keeper where Anyang did well to stop it.

Viking score in the 90th minute against Sparta Prague and it looks like they'll face Sligo/Motherwell next.
Edit - that's a result now.

Sparta Prague 1 down in Norway, bit of a surprise there.
59% possession for Pats in the first half if I remember the stat correctly, and it showed, they were very comfortable for the most part, perhaps a lazy moment for the centre back I think to allow a one-on-one which Annang saved brilliantly!
But Cotter.. ohh Cotter! as good as he has been, howwwwwww did he miss such a sitter?!

Not to jinx it but Motherwell are very poor ,hopefully Sligo keep doing what they’re doing and see it out...

They slightly had the better of the first half. Nothing special but evenly matched sides. It could go either way.

Sounds like Vladimir put a call in a half time to bring the Belarusians to heel.
Sligo are doing enough, not having to work really hard to keep shape, keeping Motherwell cagey with the chances. Some luck with a couple of those tackles mind. The longer it stays like this the more desperate the Scots will get and Sligo are well able to cope. It will be interesting to see how Motherwell do in the league as they look very poor so relegation fodder?
Pats doing well too, need to make any superiority count. It'll be a long nervy evening for Pats fans if it ends up decided on penos.

Mura down to ten now.
What a massive chance for both clubs now. Pat's need to hold on to possession now and be patient. That pitch is gigantic, chances will come if they tire them out.
Red card was a carbon copy happened Matty Smith against Riga. Forester was first to raise his hand and the reacting player has got the red. Pat's very lucky they've got this call.
Mura down to ten now.
We caught a real break there. Chris Forrestor raised his hand first.. Huge chance here now.

It might as well be 10 a side in the Pats Mura game as Eoin Doyle looks a fat useless mess. Rovers dodged a bullet there. Game is very open but Pats won't get a better chance and have to seize the moment.
Delighted to hear Sligo are beating the sweaty team. 👍

Harsh on Doyle there. Having said that I’d have had Tunde on for him about 10 minutes ago.

Pats game gone to ET- Forrester going off means he won't be the villain in the inevitable penalty shoot out anyway.

Brilliant! The knockout qualifying rounds are fraught with danger. Rovers could have been knocked out by Bala. They survived. Look at them now! They are off to Norway! Brilliant is right!

3 Maltese sides through tonight. One of them Hibernians, beating Levadia Tallinn. The other 2 knocked out sides from Serbia and Bosnia. Rovers win over 2 legs probably more impressive than they are given credit for.
