the clue is in anything alcohol related would usually involve Ethan Boyle!
Hey cut him some slack.
His name is an anagram of ETHANOL BYE.
Poor kid never stood a chance.

If fit, he's a cracking player.
If fit.
Fitness seems to be an issue alright:
SIGNING: #LimerickFC can confirm the signing of striker Danny Morrissey, who spent the past season at Finn Harps, as manager Neil McDonald continues his squad-building for 2018.
McDonald said: "We are happy to have Danny on board. We will be looking to get him fitter than he was, we know he can score goals, and hopefully he will be able to put away the chances that we create."

That's confirmed now, good signing for Cork and a decent replacement for Delaney. I suppose McNamee is the replacement for Bolger really, but two good players in all the same.

I've been reading Derry fans on Facebook saying he was s###e and they are not sorry after him.

He was a bit off form for the latter half of this season, but he works well alongside a decent centre half.
Of course, now that he's leaving us, he's rubbish. That McNamee fella is a chancer too, glad he's gone.

I saw Barry in Tallaght at the start of the season, when Derry beat Rovers. I think it was Mcbride's 2nd last game. Barry was v good that day, but he was still outshone by McBride, who was simply colossal! McBride scored that day and Derry were down to 10 men for the last half hour but they still kept Rovers out. It was mainly down to McBride in my opinion who kept the whole defensive unit solid, but Barry looked v good too.
If Bennett is fit and playing next season he could form a formidable partnership with Barry.

Mcmillan has been over talking to St Johnstone according to their manager. He also said benson is looking for English championship wages so they won't be signing him.

Some rival fans may be happy to hear that Mark McNulty has signed up with us for another two seasons. It is as yet unclear how many speeches he has agreed to give each season.

Dave Webster is a whole-hearted and versatile player who will be well sought after by other Dublin clubs. Lopes is hardly a better defender although Grace is well ahead of either. Presumably Rovers have a quality centre half lined up to partner Lee Grace

We have lopes Byrne bone and grace all for the cb . I suspect Clarke may play LB next season he was best there all season.

JC just said Josh went to Bournemouth and came on loan to Longford where he did really well. He couldn’t get a game in the worst town side in recent history who were relegated. He barely got a game for pats. He’s been released by every club he’s ever signed for. Lazy player with a big time Charlie attitude.
There's only room for one big time Charlie in this league and it's not that fella.

Not sure why we got rid of Webby as he's the type of player teams like Rovers need - versatile, competent at what he does and won't complain when he doesn't play every match. Lopes is definitely a better defender though - him and Grace was a huge upgrade on what came before.

Connolly never got going at Rovers but I’d give me right arm to have him back at Longford, mans a genius and a workhorse to boot.

I don't think geniuses get released by clubs like Shamrock Rovers.

Webster and Connolly released by rovers
I was surprised by that. Both are fine players imho, and better footballers than Lopes or McAllister. Much more comfortable on the ball in fact.
Does Bradley feel he has too many footballers in the team and needs more workhorses maybe?
Strange ones to let go...

Not strange at all. Both are poor players and wouldn't be getting much game time next year so better to clear up their wages.

Been to most Rovers games cant see any way that Webster is better then Lopes..
Connolly was very patchy last season after a good start.

The Connolly one I can understand to a point because you've already got Finn and the 2 Bolgers in CM now who are all superior players.
But how are they letting Webster go and keeping Bone? Whatever about you not agreeing that Webster being better than Lopes, surely you must think he's better than Bone...

Webster was signed to be a starting player in the team, if he is going to be sitting on the bench then his wages will be better used elsewhere. Webster looked ok when he was beside lopes or grace but when he was beside heaney and devine he was very poor. I can see him ending up at pats.

Was superb for us and Galway could pick passes nobody else could see and loved to get stuck in, people use to call him Scholsey down here. What went wrong at Rovers? Just a step too far for him?

He has a toe injury that is causing him pain but would most likely have to retire if he gets it operated on.

Think its a mistake, myself, to get rid of Webster. He's not a certain starter but a good reserve. Maybe he turned that idea down, and hence the reason for his departure.
As for Connolly. The guy couldn't pass water. Just gave the ball away time after time. No loss to Rovers imo .
One would hope Bradley has replacements in mind. Maybe balk(?) from pats, if he has ambitions above playing in relegation battling teams.

I'd take Webby back in a heartbeat. Great professional and has a smashing attitude. Was exactly the kind of player and personality we needed when things went south half way through this season

Well he's ten years older than him. Bone is clearly a more naturally talented player but he's young.

Bones also more a midfielder than a defender from what I've seen of him so not really competing with Webster.

Harps fans, Whats the verdict on Caolan McAleer?
http://www.sligorovers.com/news/17/nov/mcaleer-joins-new-jersey-and-store-confirmed
Very good player and will do well for you. Good crosser and chips in with a few goals. Accumulates a quite astonishing number of yellow cards though.

13 yellow cards this season. His discipline is brutal, but he's a superb player. Only for an awful dip in form between August to September he was nailed on player of the season for me.
Didn't contribute enough goals though, but he did score two absolute peaches in the last game of the season.

At the beginning of the season he was playing superbly and was an auto number one, he got a badish injury and never seemed to hit form when he came back.
Also was unfortunate that one or two others were hitting good form when he came back....
I'd say if we hadn't signed G Bolger and if A Bolger hadn't come through the way he did at the end of the season he would have been kept.
Will def do a good job for someone , just needs a good pre season

Connolly was fairly poor all season aside from one game against Dundalk. Played out of position and injured in fairness to the lad but he wasn't up to it and play broke apart too often when he got involved. Great engine but really poor distribution. Might have kicked on next season but Rovers are well covered in his position. If his injury clears he will be a good signing for someone.
Webster has been poor for a while now and the team suffers when he plays. Grace and Lopes are the best combo tried so far but really Rovers need two lads of Grace's quality back there and so Webster, who is on first team wages, had to go. Good pro, great attitude and definitely has enough to play in the league but not good enough to challenge for it. Will be a good signing for Pat's or the likes. Needs someone solid alongside him though.

Heard Ward signed back again too?( not Stephen)
Sean Gannon signs a new 3 year deal for us,hopefully the first of many bits of good news.
This is great news, Gannon is by a long distance, the best right back in the country, I was worried he was off to Rovers.
A 3 year deal too, good planning and hopefully the start of more quality signings for 2018 and further.
