God bless him, hopefully he fits in well, to his jersey I mean, he has had difficulties on that front.

Can’t see him making yere team. Decent player but certainly behind Sharkey and McFadden for us. Did score a few vital goals for us mind.

Nicky Low has resigned for Derry until the end of June then he becomes a free agent. Good signing for Derry looking like a decent squad put together by kenny shiels.

Is that Waterford with 5 defenders, one centre forward & 6 central midfielders now, seems a little unbalanced

It certainly doesn't look as even as our "sort of one of each" model.

Two strikers, Walsh and Akinade. Definitely packed in the middle, plenty of options now. Colm Whelan a forward option as well, presumably he’ll play youth football for the club though.

We should really just amalgamate our 2 clubs 'Limford FC'

When you actually think about it, it does make sense. No Premier Division club wants him. The only club in Munster that would want him is Cobh, and he won’t play for nothing. Finn Harps will play decent part time wages and they’re training schedule is ‘flexible’ shall we say. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was only doing one night a week training and a game with them. Perhaps the only surprise is he didn’t end up with someone like Longford, but they probably would’ve asked for more commitment than he was willing to give. That wouldn’t be as much of an issue with Harps.

Bit taken aback by that signing. Had expected him to wind up at Cobh for the season. Can't imagine he'll be moving up, probably a similar arrangement to what we had with Rob Waters a few years ago where he trained in Cork during the week and came up for matches at the weekend.

Could be wrong though. Has he a wife/kids?

Fenn wants the players training three nights a week with the very odd exception made according to an interview he gave recently. He says he missed out on a few players because of this.

Same for GUFC.

Not an issue with Finn Harps, it may work for them, they're putting together a good squad.

I'd like to think over the course of a season our approach will pay off though.

Surely Rovers would only sign him if he has
proven his fitness?

I thought that was the point of having him in for squad training

I notice Bradser is talking up the "gravitas" that he will bring to the club and that he has been a Rovers supporter, as opposed to any on-field focus. Sounds more like a PR appointment than a player signing.

Maybe he is right to minimise fan expectations

Dylan Watts (ex UCD) signs on loan for Bohs from Leicester till July.

Bit out of the blue that one; he was on the bench for Leicester's U-23s just last week.

He is a St Kevins product, that may have something to do with it. Good signing if he has played/trained at u/23 level for Leicester

Just in response to Longfordian, when he says Fenn wants the players training 3 nights a week...surely that's the least a team should be doing ? Am I wrong ?

We are actually training 4 nights a week at present. I’d imagine 3 week during the season.

Not always the case in the First Division. Depends on the budget, it’s hard to get lads to commit to training three nights plus a match at the weekends if they’re only on say 100 quid a week or less.

He has a look of Wayne Rooney, is partial to the social side of the game, he has the ummm confidence of Rooney, but the goals have yet to materialise. A run getting 1st team football and he might improve. He is lucky to have a big brother in his corner to give him a helping hand with finding a club.
