It was refreshing to see Dundalk even have the scope of scouting to pick him up in the first place. Perhaps a sign that there would be other players like that floating around the lower level Europea Leagues for future seasons?

Italian Serie B is in total disarray at the minute. Only 17 of the scheduled 20 teams are registered. Bari and Cesena have been relegated to Serie D for financial reasons and Avellino failed to register in time.

There's issues with two Serie A sides as well. Parma and Chievo are both under investigation for different things, Parma match fixing and Chievo for dodgy transfer dealings.

Bit of confusion all round there, and people wonder why the Italian league has become such a basket case this past ten or fifteen years.

Makes the League of Ireland look a model league at times.

Couple of ins and outs at Dalymount - Philly Gannon and Karl Moore left (Moore having a decent debut for Shels !!!) and Dylan Watts (retired :D). In comes Daniel Kelly from Bray (scoring twice on his Bohs debut against Bray) and Ryan Masterson from Drogheda.

Adjoran returns to Italy this week as his loan period with Dundalk is up tomorrow. Looks like another Italian Serie B club also interested in him now along with his parent club Novara. Dundalk want to keep him, and tried to do a deal last week, but since this development of two clubs now talking to him in Italy, I would be very surprised to see him returning.
.

He's gone. The window is about to close, so there is no opportunity before next January.

I hear Paddy Kavanagh is gone too, any idea where he's going ? or is he jacking in altogether

He's pushing 33 so you wouldn't be too surprised if he retired. It would be a pity though, he's still got a lot of quality. He's capable of playing for one of the top teams imho but I heard he stayed with Bohs over the last few years because he wants to keep his day job.
He's been on the bench a lot over the last few months which surprised me. But maybe he can't commit to football as much as he used to...

Kavanagh confirmed on twitter that he's left Bohs. Didn't mention if he's going anywhere else. Just thanked the staff and fans etc.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at Shels. They seem to have new investment and were able to attract Karl Moore from Bohs. That's serious quality to be able to attract in the 1st Division.

Yeah, played with Limerick last season. Retired at just 26 to get the Shels job.

There was a piece in some paper about him when he went in at Shels, talking about the hard life of an LOI player, the financial uncertainty...it was an interesting read.

Paddy Kavanagh confirms he's not retiring just yet (https://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/soccer-news/paddy-kavanagh-committed-playing-league-13010221).

Kavanagh insists he has one last hurrah in him and - in talks with clubs - hopes to land a deal elsewhere by the weekend.

Would be totally left field, but Ollie Horgan has said yesterday on local radio that he hopes to have another player signed at Harps by today. Maybe an outside chance he's cast the net out to someone like Kavanagh for a promotion push.

A decent bit, but with signing Roy, he clearly wasn't going to be starting.
I'm sorry to see him go, as he's useful as an impact sub. Scored one goal every 1.97 matches, and gave us a bit of heart on the pitch.
At the same time, it frees up one of the bigger wages at the club.
He's 34 now, and probably didn't fancy sitting on the bench with what could be his last year playing, so fair enough.

UCD sign Conor Davis (http://leagueofireland.ie/index.php/2018/08/02/ucd-complete-the-signing-of-conor-davis-from-reading/), a 20-year-old forward from Reading.

Looks like the club are hoping he'll be in the squad for this week's game, and they're working out study options as well. Always a bit more complicated with players coming back from England who have no Leaving Cert.

He was a stand out player with St Kevins before he left. Good to see a steady stream of good young players coming back to the league who were just not ready to go cross channel , but will do a good job here. Bohs left back Leahy, Dylan Watts , Stokes spring to mind.
Bizarre to see Fuad Sule on loan to the hell hole that is Larne though.

Unless there was a July release agreement, any loan or permanent move back to League of Ireland would have to have taken place before the end of July. That may not have suited Barnet as they were probably still trying to finalise their squad at that point, with the UK transfer deadlines extended into August.

A loan move to free spending Larne might have been the most attractive choice among limited options for a player who has only made one league appearance for Barnet last season.

If he does well for Larne, there may be a queue of interested LOI managers checking him out.

I'd be certain he ended up at Larne because they were the only club willing to pay all of his wages, he needed a loan move no lower than Conference South or LOI Premier Division, the NI First Division is about the same standard of the top division in LSL. Larne despite their money is a regression for a very decent young player like him

Apart from Birmingham Alabama I can think of no place worse than Larne for a Muslim of Nigerian heritage with a Dublin accent.

Quite a good comparison and probably not far out, what would the Irish League top division be compared to then?

I often think maybe the top 4 would be mid to lower table LOI Prem, the rest 100% FD. I still enjoy watching the goals highlights on bbc no at 5pm on a sat, the defending is always good fun.

I suspect Barnet were just not ready yet to 'cut the ties' and release him fully.Larne may have been the only realistic offer willing to cover his wages. he had a great half season or so at Bohs but always felt he jumped too quickly in accepting Barnet offer.Another season here might have generated better offers, long term. good player and hopefully this loan will grant him more time on the pitch and get his career back on track.

Bazunu signs for Man City for £420,000.

https://www.mcfcwatch.com/2018/09/06/manchester-city-finalise-420000-deal-for-shamrock-rovers-prodigy-gavin-bazunu/

What's funny is that at the bottom of that page, there are picture links to two other articles, both of which are basically the same article about Bazunu, with 2 different prices...you can see the price going up.
