lads, didnt Westport lose a semi a fews years back but got the game replayed as the winners had played an ineligible player, they won the replay and went of to lift the cup. point being that if there is a bit of skullduggery or cute whoreism going on y'd better have all the i's dotted and t's crossed cos at this stage of the competition its not just on the pitch that games are won and lost. Now I'm not trying to stir but wasnt it a Limerick team who Westport found out, correct me if I'm wrong
hate to be quoting meself, but......deja vu???

There's a awful lot of thanking goin on when people are not aware of the facts.why not just wait and see until the truth comes there will be an awful lot of people very surprised indeed:party:

Sure while I'm quoting meself.................'You'd have to wonder about the integrity of Junior football when you read these threads. Play suspended/ineligible players and if you get away with it well and good, if you dont its one of your rival clubs who 'ratted' you out and in that case its the 'ratting' thats worse than the cheating.'

serpico... what is the truth??? had a club in the St micks v Pike match an illegal player???(honest mistake or not) Was the objection that was then lodged also illegal????
2 simple questions.... if the answer to the second question is yes then the matter should be closed, winners advance.. if the answer to the second question is no and the answer to the first question is yes, then the team with the illegal player should be expelled...very simple....
not trying to pick on any club, just trying to have a conversation on the integrity of the competition..

As I've said in previous posts let's just wait until the final outcome and I'm sure people will find out exactly what happened instead of all this hearsay.
You mention hearsay, Serpico - that's a little ironic given that the Pike committee did not represent themselves at the Junior Council hearing but sent the LDMC in their stead. Maybe Micheal's should have sent TSDL officials to represent them?

to be honest leather no matter what people think or say this matter is strictly between pike,st micks and the fai and no one else needs to know the ins and outs only these parties.people are coming on here guessing and trying to find out whats going on when in fairness its a serious situation for both sides not to be discussing it on this forum.i know everyone has ther own views on it but as serpico said lets wait for the final outcome which could take awhile.

the truth and outcome in this matter is of great importance to all clubs that enter the FAI junior cup....if either one of the clubs or the fai are seen to be subverting , twisting or just disregarding the rules of the competition, then what is the point in having the competition in the first place.....

Well said. It is imperative that the integrity of the competition is upheld. It remains to be seen what bearing this latest episode will have on it.

exactly my point bandit.well said.
i just checked rule 44 in the fai rule book and it looks like pike are safe and if an appeal goes in it goes to the domestics committee and it will be thrown out cos those players played in the summer season and regraded to amature satus for the begining of the winter season and they can not reg for thirty days after leaving pro-status so that means all ex loi players are free to play in this cup once regraded to amature.www.fai.ie/ policies and regulations(rule book)
Red,
Could you post a link to the actual rule book? I can't find it anywhere on FAI website.
It was good to read back through this thread and see Connie had apologised for his ropey celebrations in Cooke Park (it was was the man, himself, who had posted). I think everyone accepts that people in football get over excited and impulsive when their team comes from two down to go ahead in a game. Similarly, most Saints people had no problem with Pike supporters running on to the pitch when the fourth goal went in. One issue, which was a cause for concern and will be a bigger one if a replay goes ahead, is that of Pike supporters sitting on top of the Michael's bench in Cooke Park. They were asked to move on the day and flatly refused. They were young looking fellas but by no means, kids/teens. Hopefully, common sense will prevail if a replay takes place and Pike officials will take steps to ensure this kind of nonsense does not reoccur.

Just to reiterate lads, this objection thing is no picnic for anybody,I'm trying my best to let you talk about it but I'll suspend anybody I think is messing up your avenue for discussing it.
There are enough sensible posts already here as proof that it can be done without getting personal about it.

well if thats the case maybe pike and st micks should set up there own thread for this, otherwise its a public forum and if leather or the man in the moon(providing he's got internet access) want to provide there opinion they are free to do so.
On another note firstly you had pike supporters on saying they had nothing to worry about, then when the "truth" came out it was the LDMC's fault and now no one from pike is commenting until the real truth comes out,its laughable, they were found in the wrong by the FAI knowingly or unknowingly doesn't come into it.What else can there be too it Serpico??

you should study the findings from the fai junior councill meeting with both clubs before you comment about something you know nothing about and any one on this thead from limerick and not supporting limerick teams should hang their heads in shame
ah ya like i said nice to see pike supporting carew a few years back too!! short memories as i said before!why should i study the findings aren't they all on here sure!! or better still you know it all so tell me, and i'd actually prefer to support a fully legal team like say regional

typical regional got park kicked out throw an objection,ye don't deserve to be where ye are in the fai and get the findings off the fai website or even better go down to the pike club tonight at 8.30 and ask for the sec and he'll show you the findings you well be surprised what you read if they let you read it
i'm not a regional supporter, you said anyone not supporting a limerick team so i picked regional
don't have the time to be reading fai notes or sauntering up to the pike club,or the interest to be honest, just sick of the crap by lads backing pike or whatever other team ,as i said a while back i don't not support pike but if they were in the wrong they should be out, unfortunately since i didn't get the report i can only go on whats posted here like i'm sure the majority of lads do,except for those wit pleny of time on there hands!! and back to the limerick teams are there any of them of whats left follow the rules then?

where will the "500" come from .watched some of Regionals q/f and about 30 people attended. Pityfull for a game of that importance.
It amazes me the amopunt of people on this site that know what is going on in the pike club[mulla/damo,.No1 from pike has come on here n said anything n try as ye mite ye still have,nt got a statement or anyrhing from any1 on here.Im sure if pike done something wrong they will be punished accordingly and listening to yer posts its more than obvious ye no nothing about the rules regardin senior players,Lets all just let the fai decide and thanks for all the accusing posts ye have just made us more determined to gon on and win the cup.Pike have kept their dignity ,ye call it silence i call it dignity. Also it was interestin to read every papers qouting that pike were cleared of any wrong doing and the good name of our club was kept in tact, i will leave every other club in town now to stay on this site and bicker about pike .
i never said i knew what was going on,i just go by what i read on this and ya if you say ye were cleared of any wrong doing that means colm carroll was 100% legal to play the game ya?and no i don't know all the rules regarding senior to junior and btw hopefully something like this will make the fai sit up and do something about this rule but wasn't the 1 thing missing his own personal release?

FAI Semi Final
Regional v Fairview 12noon Sunday 04th April 2010.
This is what I heard today, and if true its an absaloute joke as all/most Junior players in town would be playing Sunday morning games at 11.00 and therefore wouldnt be able to attend.
You'd think the LDMC would have asked to have it played at a date and time so that most of Limerick could attend this game.............espeially with the LDMC taking the gate money in Jackman Pk.

I hope its a good game, Fairview have so many players from other clubs in their team, that they should be like the barbarians rugby team and wear their own club's sox, with the 'view gear.
That would be a colourful picture.

Is that not the point to try get the best players in the league you say it as if they have broken a rule by getting players that played for another club.

Also had planned to go to this game but because of this braindead kick-off time I can't. If it was on the Saturday night or even Sunday after 2pm I'm sure there would be a sizeable attendance there

To be fair i think most of there players are with them years .Evan Hehir full back played minor zubi chuka and martin Neary are there years , they all played in the back 4 for the last few games , Barrett, heffernan gary hannon and Rossi are all there years also besides playing loi so i dont know where your coming fom ...Dont think many of the Regional, Pike,or Boro lads have as many long serving players
is that not the point to try get the best players in the league you say it as if they have broken a rule by getting players that played for another club.
lads in all fairness kilmallock are probably the only team in the premier that have all local players playing from there home town or area,i would love to hear from anyone that can disagree with me.

Why don't the two teams that are down to play each other just join forces & agree not to play the match. If both teams agree what could the LDMC do about it???

Lads Im not sure this is the LDMC's idea, I think maybe because its FAI they mightn't have a choice, but if they did and it is the LDMC's idea, then it doesn't make sense, considering the LDMC would stand to make a fortune from the gate receipts/take in, especially if the game was played at a convenient time for most of Limerick to attend.
