View Full Version : FAI Junior Cup 2009/10
i would have to disagree with that, i personally think egan is better all round, shot stopping they are about equal, when it comes to decision making egan seems more confident to come out and claim the ball, but miles ahead is a bit over exaggerated. These two young keepers have great potential and hope they get to show them at higher levels.
ya fair enough comment. Robbie just about shades it and as we said hopefuly they will get the break.

i wouldn't be surprised to see egan pulling on a blue shirt for limerick when killmallock bow out of the fai cos he is the best goalkeeper and he would walk on to the limerick team no problem

I would say if he goes anywhere it will be to Pike, best junior team in the country at this stage and he will know he will have great oppurtunities with the Hoops

My Money is on Willow Park. They beat finalists St Peters in R 1 and although they haven't had to take a "big" scalp yet, the biggies have been drawing each other! No one considered St Peters last year and they got to the final (though well beaten) so I wouldn't rule it out. Priced @ 14s i think now though I have them at 16 / 1

No I think the FAI just make a draw for each round... Then keep it secret so everyone spends a week wondering about it.

Now now lads, dont be fighting...there can only be one winner and hundreds of losers(from the voice of a loser, although my club didnt enter this year). Being a Liverpool fan I can only give those remaining in the Cup the following wise words....'I can live with the disappointment, its the hope I cant handle'

your tipping killarney athletic to beat clonmel town after clonmel knocking out ballymun.....you must be a little bitter about the star rovers defeat.....i for one hope carrick, leeside, clonmel, glebe north, saint michaels win the cup, anyone bar a limerick team after reading the rubbish and hype that you guys speak, the last guy was right all you see is limerick, the forum was blocked up for weeks with the kilmallock fight and before that we had to endure another fight over a match card in limerick....my team is out but il definitely be putting rivalries aside and supporting the tipp teams left

As a corkman I have to say I'd love to see Leeside or Springfield taking the title (few bob on Leeside).
If not them I'd be shouting for the Munster sides (very well represented this season 12 from 16) but I will admit, some (not all) of the Limerick contributions make it hard to support/cheer for them...

totally agree....again its not all....but they just dont seem to think there is any football outside of limerick yet players like ray mcmahon, barry ryan, ian bennis and cosgrave have come from limerick to play with saint michaels

In fairness to lads from Limerick they seem to have a very vibrant soccer scene down there, especially when you look at all the Limerick based threads on the Junior Forums. The top Limerick clubs seem to be very well ran and supported. Had the pleasure/misfortune of running into Pike a few years ago in the Cup. They stayed in a new hotel with a Darren Clarke designed golf course, we brought them into the Sligo/Leitrim pitch, they hockeyed us, called back to our local boozer had a few pints and a bit of banter and headed off into the sunset on their coaches, a very professional outfit. when you compare that to the Carbury(probably the strongest sligo/Leitrim side) situation of last week of being able to afford to travel to cobh - it really is different ball game to the clubs in the northwest and a good deal more areas around the country.

i agree its a bit disrespectful to presume an all limerick final, but you will get fella's doing that, that is the downfall of some limerick teams when they are drawn away especially, they don't respect they're opponents

The best teams in the B comp would put it up to the best teams in the A comp , the schools might be smaller but theres still plenty of quality, and CBS lost thier munster final this year whereas Kilmallock won thiers 12-0 which proves they are good enough for the A comp
if they won 12 nil in the final its a joke of a cup...how many go to the school they beat 15...if the other team were in final would that not make them one of the best in the B competion and they get beating by 12 goals...cant see how they could put it up to the worst team in the A competion...your contradicting yourself..read what you said...unless there a primary school that they beat...sounds like a under 8 match..no disrespect to the under 8s

Yes, instruction from the FAI. All FAI Junior Cup games should be going ahead this week-end. Something to do with the FAI Senior cup draw later in the month. The semi finalists of the Fai Junior cup must be known before the senior draw is made because the four semi finalists go into the first round of the FAI Senior Cup. Expect the winners of next Sundays games to be playing the quarter-finals perhaps the following week

Heard Balla are missing a few this weekend aswell, Dunphy ( suspended ) Tom Dale ( Knee ) Hickey ( Ill ) Grant Murphy (back ) Tony Fahy ( thigh injury) Kevin Nolan reserve keeper ( ankle) a far as I know Balla are struggling for a keeper if this is true can see regional winning handy
