Left back! I'm not sure what match you saw but that isn't the one which the rest of the people I'd say
I am a neutral & watch quite a Munster Senior league games.
Firstly I have to say the pitch was poor, very bumpy & it a few weeks it will be worse with the ground getting harder.
As for the match itself the first half was poor with only 3/4 good link up plays (all by Rockmount). The first half by the referee & one of the linesmen was a bit poor. Mainly the 1st 20 mins.
Calls went in favor of Rockmount here at about 60/40. Nothing which was effective though as most the decisions were out around the midfield.
Number 4 for Pike however in my opinion should have been sent off in the 1st half for persistent fouling& was taken off in the second half by his manager before being sent.
The penalty: was CERTAINLY PENO. Quite poor by the defender as the centre forward chested the ball away from goal & the defender came through the back of em. Poor defending. Every decision the ref made was question by the Pike dender no.6. Now the ref did not have the best 1st 15/20 mins of the 1st half but controlled the game well after that. From Peno on Pike were poor. Lost their heads. A second goal followed 5/10 minutes later & it was well deserved good finish by the Rockmount no. 9. To be honest the only thing Pike brought to the game was good work rate & this went after the second.
Rockmount went 3 up after the defender tried clearing the ball unsuccesfully from the line ended up in the roof of the net. The Pike no 2 was next to go for firstly lashing out out the Rockmount number 3 which should have been a straight red & for secondly been late on a tackle (when the whole knew he was going in to do em!!) He still arguedd how he could is beyond me. Maybe the Junior league is like that
Both sending off were spot on & should have been more.
Best player for Pike was their No 10. he worked hard & just got on with it. No 6 wasn't bad eith for all his complaining

left back i am just wondering who is the two players that are being talked about. i am presuming no.6 is pa mcgarry he likes to have a go at the refs and who is no.10, it was hardly maloney was it.

obviously u must of been at a different match than i was is right , there was a couple of yellow cards handed out and red cards to only 1 team, the ref might as well have been sub for rock mount he was so much in their favour,1 of rockmounts players fall over a ball and a pike player that had tackled him got the blame , it took the supportors to point out what had happened, but the ref was quick to pass judgement and howl at the pike player, wat about rockmonths sub who kicked out at pike no 2 when fowled he didnt even get booked , the first sending off was a joke it 50/50 ball that was won fair and square, from my point of view THE REF GOT MAN OF THE MATCH:rolleyes::eek:

totally agree with you leftback the ref was a disgrace no wonder they get so much abuse. there was nothing between the teams until he gave the peno, they were a good side and very fit and dominated from the peno on but we were hard done by there was decisions made that never should have been. it was an uphill battle from when the fixture was made anyway everything was done to prevent us from winning it:mad:

think its still bit early to be saying its over, pike are in good form but a few bad results in the league could swing it wide open again.if they dont lose to either regional or fairview in the next round of games than no one will catch them

Yeah i agree its Pike's to lose and Fairview and Regional will have to take something off them. I Know Balla have played a few more games but they are still tucked in there just off the lead and are probably going to be alot fresher than the other 3 who have had long seasons already. I do agree with you thou about Pike getting plaenty of goals and they do it more consistently than the others challenging.
