Frankly ridiculous :-)
For the record St Ledger looks set to join Orlando. I wish him all the best in his retirement.
Oooo young man!
Would you be so kind to help an old has been across the road?
Would you mind carrying that box? It's very heavy as it's full of international Irish caps!

Joining Orlando could be really good for Sledge. Regular football, a chance to show that he still has ability and a decent attitude might prove many of his detractors wrong. Could even get him a move to the Premiership, which is probably being very, very optimistic!

St Ledger is starting in defence for Orlando. He's still listed as a trialist on their lineup, but according to a brief mention in the Orlando Sentinel here - http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-city-lions/on-the-pitch/os-carolina-challenge-cup-orlando-city-nycfc-20150221-post.html - he should be offered a contract soon

Good performance from our forgotten CB, about time he had the rub of the green.
Surely not even IKFA101 can begrudge him that?

The doc I was sure you were St Legder but considering that man is now in Orlando which is 5 hours behind I would think it would be unlikely he would be posting to newsgroups at 5:30 in the morning. So who are you?

Someone close to SSL was always my bet. Or just somebody with enough info to make more of it than it actually is (a bit like SSL and ability, I suppose!) I thought I read one post by him during a match when SSL was playing, but I couldn't find it later, and I'm not going to sift through each one of his posts and correlate them with Ireland-kick off times since 2007!

Whether or not it is the full truth on the matter, the doc claims to at least know one of Sean's Irish relatives: http://foot.ie/converse.php?u=11054&u2=7723
I suspect he might well be a close relative with some sort of personal connection, however, considering his extreme defensiveness in response to anything that he fears portrays Sean in a negative light as well as his eagerness to put down other Irish players who would be seen as direct challengers to Sean for a place in the centre of the Irish defence.

Sorry Sean, missed the game. Saturday night and all.... But tbh I'd only take an interest in that game if I was playing in it myself.

He wasn't exactly brilliant for the equaliser (on about 25 seconds) (http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2015/02/22/wiebe-opening-day-dress-rehearsal-sees-kaka-shine-orlando-city-and-new-york-)

Can't really tell from the highlights but doesn't look like the back four are playing as a unit - the doc seems to be a lot deeper than the other defenders. Lack of communication and concentration at play again no doubt. the doc looks a bit out of shape, and very slow. No turn of pace/ acceleration to catch up with the goalscorer. Needs to work on his arm waving to the linesman as well. Lacking energy there.
Hopefully he will get signed up by Orlando City. I didn't know Orlando City are in the MLS from the coming season. For some reason I thought it was from 2016. Will be over there in September so will take in a game.

I flew out to see the game, you get a better perspective of how the goal was conceded and build up prior to the goal, than some clip.
As for IKFA101 pathetic attempts to analyse the goal and continue his vendetta against SSL, really are embarrassing.

Ah that explains a lot now, you are a family member or a partner?
Fair play to you for giving him that kind of support on his debut.
I haven't been following the whole thread so sorry if I'm way off and your true relationship has already been revealed on here.

Their opening game against New York is live on Sky Sports 3 from 21:00 on Sunday. Unfortunately I only have 1 & 5.
A really exciting move for him. If he was being a bit overly selective, hopefully the end will justify the means.
Hope it works out well for him. It's certainly been a rough time for him. Will be tuning in on Sunday night that's for sure. Sky also have the Kansas City v New York Red Bulls game live on straight after at 11pm. 60,000 sell out for the Orlando game in the Citrus Bowl.

Tets, how do you feel about NYC wearing City colours? It makes me sick personally, just a blatant exercise in brand extension by Abu Dhabi City.

Should get his chance next week - the other centre half ("on his Orlando debut" according to the ESPN commentator - no ****) sent off for a ridiculous tackle. Alan Kelly's done very well in the middle.

Basically the same as I feel about Melbourne City wearing City colours, and all three clubs/franchises having variations on a theme for their club crests - it's the way things are.
Anyway, St Ledger did play as a very, very late substitute and should start their next game.

doesn't get a great write up from these lads but a clean sheet is a clean sheet

D, Sean St. Ledger, 6.0 -- St. Ledger filled in solidly for a suspended Aurelien Collin. He played well, but also had a few very shaky clearances. Not sure he did enough to create a true CB controversy just yet (calm down, City fans), but it's good to know we have depth.

These guys know even less about the game than most posters on here.
Hines made several mistakes last night
They rave about Collin whose only ever played for Wrexham and Gretna Green, he makes Alex Bruce look like the black pearl.
