Hunt is based in Cork?! He commuted from there all season?

Yeah he works in a gym in Cork. His family live in Kildare so I presume he used to stay there sometimes too after training or whatever. There was a story in the paper after the Harps replay about the amount of miles he had to do to make the game.

We all reckon it's Pats. Hearing he's given us until the weekend to sort something. TBH, I doubt we'd be able to beat what he's been offered, our budget is getting cut again, and he's already working part-time in a pub as it is.

Its actually Rovers

Dinny kept Sligo up, heard he wants to get back to Dublin though, St Pats Portrane as opposed to Inchicore is where his priority is.

Apart from the future European money in 2016, given Pat`s dismal crowds last season, it`s a real head scratcher where the money is coming from to compete with Rovers/Dundalk/Cork to fund the signing/ retention of players ( apart from signing the usual Rovers rejects)?

It's only really Rovers we're competing with. Dundalk look settled and Cork have their pick of most from Munster. If we go head to head with Rovers they'll out do us wages wise so we pick up what's ever left and as you say the European money keeps us ahead of the rest. I hope no club is relying on money from the gates to keep them going, maybe that's what Bohs problem was that made you keep selling the ground.

Paul Hunt gone from Longford as well.

That's Pat Sullivan, Paul Hunt, Mark Salmon and Stephen Rice gone so far.

Pat Sullivan hasn't been confirmed anywhere yet. It's hilarious the club has nothing online about today's news. There could be several other players let go today that we don't know about.

Our reliance was on property speculation and assumptions around continued European qualification and associated money. ..so eh quite different to whatever funding model Garret Kelliher has in place for you

Dinny is a lazy **** but scored goals for us. If he tried in games we wouldn't have been in that position.

Every year since 2009 (when he cut back hugely from the gross 2008 figures)

Daryl Horgan being linked with Brighton in one of the tabs apparently. Lovely player, can help feeling he makes the wrong decision on the ball too often though.

Assume Brighton would have to stump up a sizeable fee for him as he's just turned 23.

Have a look at the filed accounts for Pat's and the other group companies. Puts Bohs' financial problems in the halfpenny place.

Duggan, Hall and Clarke have all had offers from Cork.

Clarke has also had an offer from Shamrock Rovers.

After the shambles of pre season can't see Duggan or Clarke staying...and not to forget the promises made to him when he signed his contract

Duggan is now living in Limerick with 3 young kids so might be easier to convince to stay. Especially with the support that has come out since the move to the Markets Field. If Shamrock Rovers are in for Clarke id say we would be doing extremely well to hold onto him. He is a dub after all.

From what I have seen Joe Gorman & Conor Powell would be the left back contenders on the flops-of-the-season team

Seen the news about Mick Daly but havent heard anything about Mark Sammon? He was the Longford captain last year? Any good?

Also, I very surprised with all these 2 year contracts! Very strange!

Don't think the club has confirmed it yet... Yeah Longford Captain, been with them 5/6 years as far as i know. Think i saw a few posts on here from Longford fans dissapointed to see him not being offered a new contract.

Mark Salmon was our best player for years up until he got a serious injury in 2013 which basically cost us the league which goes to show how important he was to us. Since he came back from that injury he's not really played many full 90 minutes and his legs aren't what they were he use to be a real box to box player but now his best work is closer to the opposition goals, Hel add quality but most of all leadership and personality to the bray squad and the fans will love him on and off the field, total gent.

Salmo gave great service to LTFC but to be honest we had better players there by the end of the season and he was let go. Not been the same player since a bad injury a couple of years ago.

I can see Paul O'Conor, Sean Russell, Robbie Williams, and Cyril Guedje from Limerick on that list. Every player on that list is definitely transfer-listed?

List is near out of date already and it only gone online.

I think the usual story is that the players on the list would be open to a move if it meant more pay.

Most will stay at the clubs (unless they've already been released of course)

Bray have given Alan Byrne a two year deal. Not sure what to say about that to be honest.

Philip Gannon has committed to us for another year. So its wrong. Davy O Sullivan linked heavily with a return to Bray Wanderers which would be scandolous in my opinion but Pats are also in the chance.

Well if Bray are offering all these players 2 year deals then you can see why they are moving there. With the history though if it was me personally as a player I'd need to seriously consider the options before signing.

Absolute crazy stuff, unless they have completed the ground swap deal, I have no idea where the money is coming from, as rumour has it the ESB were pulling the plug and several bus companies are knocking on the door, 2 year deals hope they get them in writing!:confused:

Pay no attention to the PFAI...

Anyways, I think they have added new names but haven't removed old ones. Tomi Saarelma is on the list, for example.

I think we had good players last season and I would like to see them being the priority before signing other clubs players- Douglas, Barker, McNally, Sullivan, McGlynn, Hanlon, McEvoy
Seems we look set to lose other good players - Cassidy and Giggles
Having said that Daly is a good signing

Latest rumour on the Pats forum is Kurtis Byrne coming to us

He's down the pecking order with Dundalk. I suspect that the only reason he was kept on this season was for cover for McMillan before Maguire and Killduff arrived.

seand
10/11/2015, 12:01 PM
Kurtis worked well with Hoban last year, but had very little impact this year. He didn't actually score a league goal in 14 sub appearances, bu that was usually for 10 minutes or less. He'll be fondly remembered for 2013 and 2014 and for a goal at Hajduk Split.

Pats supposedly have offered money to Dinny Corcoran, he has refused a contract so with Bohs due to more wages with Pats.
Long meet with Kurtis Byrne last week due to Corcoran turning Bohs down.

What is the point in Bray Wanderers offering 32 year old Alan Byrne a 2 year contract?

There is absolutely no point. No benefit. I cannot get my head around it. As you say he is 32, he is a bad player. No benefit to bray of offering a 2 year deal, even if he has a great season no one bar the bottom 4 clubs will want to sign him anyway. And if bray all of a sudden "have money" then surely after consolidating in 2016 they would look to sign good players and progress and not have to keep the likes of Alan Byrne and Mick Daly etc. Really cant understand it!! The risks really do outweigh the any benefits (of which I cant think of one, bar preventing them having to fight with say a Longford for his signature next year, so what). Imagine he gets career ending injury in pre season, Bray have to pay circa 40k for zero benefit. and yes he is on good money as well !!

and of course the "Licensing" process won't have any issue with it at all no doubt
