Strictly speaking, you can play "amateur" football (ie Glenn Crowe playing for Malahide United) after you've gotten your refund, but i'm guessing the Revenue don't believe anyone in the LOI isn't getting paid, and I'd say most of the clubs who'd be signing a retired player would rather their financial affairs weren't examined too closely.

Your own club would be the ones to ask about signing retired players!

That one was an all-time classic. Would definitely do it again.

Almost worth it for the sheer outrage and vitriol it caused in Dundalk I'd say.

Assuming you could find a player who wants to leave Dundalk for Rovers.

It was pandemonium. Crisps and minerals everywhere.

Probably the best part of it was thrashing Rovers 5-1 in the next fixture in Oriel.
A Tipton hatrick and Fenn ignominiously subbed off on 60 minutes - a brilliant night all round
Thanks for the reminder Charlie, it was fun reading this again

Surely Dundalk fans have better things to do than reminisce about that season. I mean, we clearly don't, but surely you should.

Not forgetting the great chant when Fenn was subbed 'bye bye baby, baby bye bye'
Tremendous night's entertainment to add to the 5-1 win.

Kevin Devaney is a very decent player. Was disappointed when he left Harps, wouldn't mind seeing him return.
He's kak. Always looks overweight. Dosent take on full backs. Always cuts inside. Couldn't cross his legs. Pity cause he's a Sligo lad so was hoping he'd do it for us last season.

Has been with us a few times before as well as his younger brother. Garbhan he been scoring for fun in Junior. Close to 40 goals in all comps so far this season. Gifted with ball at his feet. Hopefully he can show it this season in the LOI.

Hopefully we play him as a striker and not throw him in midfield again.

Roddy Collins Jnr has apparently signed for Waterford. Fourth time he's played under his father's management.

That has been known with some time in fairness. Even if people didn't it should have been expected. We announced our first three signings today

Hasn't signed as yet. A lad on the galway forum said he's meant to be resigning today. Have to wait and see

Would love him at Longford, failed in a few attempts before.

Andy O'Connell signed for Ramblers today. Think he was with Galway last year?

Heard Ian Molloy, a 19 year old keeper has gone to Longford as cover. He's a big bucker, spent some time with Leeds. Also hearing Evan Moran an under age international keeper when he was at WBA is training with the Drogs, but word is they want Ryan Coulter as there number one.

Moran fupped off to America the last I heard, a couple of weeks after signing for Cabo and Gormley told the other keeper he wouldn't be needed anymore. Would still say he's miles better than Coulter though.

He was also with Ramblers at the start of last season. He came through our youth system. I think he's a borderline premier division player.

He signed for us in pre-season from Ramblers. Didn't make a great impression with us and I had expected that we wouldn't re-sign him. That said, injury did restrict him though.
Curran back with Galway for another season

Evan Whelan was the Cabo 'keeper last year for a long period after Shane Fagan got injured in the first game of the league and missed the rest of the season. Evan Moran is the guy at Drogheda. Cabos first choice 'keeper this season is Shane Fagan who's just back from that injury and they have also signed a 6'5 ' keeper Mick Kelly who played with Rovers B team in division one, and of whom the best that can be said is he is BIG.

Mick Kelly is terrible. Well to be 100% fair he was terrible both times I saw him and incredibly poor in Longford the night we got promoted in 2014. 5-0 I think it was.

Not bad Ye, a decent signing for any FD squad. Had a brief spell with us two seasons ago and looked like he had a bit about him, unfortunately didn't work out for him here. Scored a few goals with Cobh last year.

Afraid of his shadow:shock: Destroyed Waterfords LB Corky last season but he's with a smaller shadow!

Not a bad player at all.Scored a really fine goal for us last season against Shels where he beat about 6 players but tends to be greedy with the ball.
Don't let him take penalties though!
