Good luck to Keith, I hope he's emptied out the coffers at Tallaght, taken them to the cleaners and his pension fund has been fattened to satisfactory levels.

Kilduff and McGuinness could be crucial signings for Pats
Then again, I thought the same about Quigley and Fahey last season

Neither are better than they had last season. Kilduff is not close to the player Fagan is

McGuinness is no better than Oman was when he left. Kilduff could score goals for Pats or he could just stroll around trying to look interested. If Fagan is there next season I don't think there'll be any contest.

Desmond is a good young player. Can only presume there's no compensation due to Shels?

McGuinness > Oman
Oman was a crocked Donkey when he joined Pats - McGuinness is just a Donkey, but he could be a crucial Donkey

Oman is a better footballer I think, which balances it out.

Dundalk would like to sign Jake Kelly, has potential and would be a good addition to squad.

Is Rodgers in the top 6 loI keepers? Not convinced by him at all, maybe no 4-6 range.
If Pats can get R Finn in, it might help the fans to get over Fahy leaving for his home club. The Pats right back/winger can expect plenty of diagonal balls from McGuinness next season. Another player of the year winner at the club anyway. Also agree that Oman is a more stylish player to watch.

Ronan Finn to Limerick, Ronan Finn to Limerick!!

It's hard to think of a player whose stock has fallen as much as Finn in the space of a year. 12 months ago, many Rovers fans couldn't have imagined living without him. Now he's - with all due respect to Limerick - not exactly fighting off offers.

Will suit us perfect if it gets over the line though will look like a huge signing which tbf for us I suppose it would be. Would definitely get a bit of buzz going though. And he is probably still miles ahead of what we have.

Far as I know Limerick have gone all out to make him a marquee player. Rovers aren't interested and Pats and Dundalk aren't that keen. If he goes to Limerick, under Martin Russell, he could be rejuvenated and become a massive player.

If we let the opportunity to sign Finn slip it will be disappointing. How's Towell getting on at Cardiff :)
If Oman is a better footballer than McGuinness that might just make McGuinness the worst footballer of all time.

Best keeper in the league as far as I'm concerned. Who are the 6 you would have ahead of him?

All the talk about best keepers in the league is rubbish in my opinion. There's no really good goalkeepers in the league. Rogers is up there with Murphy, Doherty, McNulty and Barry Ryan as the best of a bad bunch. They're all prone to howlers every game or two and lacking in different attributes, but generally solid in other areas.
Any top goalkeeper in our league would have been snapped up in England already.

I have to say in the last two seasons I can't remember Barry Ryan having any howlers. He has been a massive thorn in the side of a lot of teams and picked up a lot of points for us with important saves. It's a pity he is coming to the end of his career.
Ronan Finn would be a quality addition but I'd still be very pessimistic about that one being pulled off. Could get the ball rolling though when it comes to future signings.

Much as I'd like them to be accurate now that he's moved on, some of the appraisals of Rogers seem to have been plucked directly from the orifices of people who haven't seen an awful lot of him playing. Sure, it'd be great to believe that the signing won't strengthen Dundalk further, but you won't get many takers for that idea among Rovers supporters who watched him regularly over three seasons.

In no order I think Murphy, Clarke and Rogers are the top 3. McNulty and Ryan just below that. Some good prospects (ie I haven't enough to rate them) in O'Donnell, McGuinness and Coulter. Everyone else is average or worse
There's certainly no Brian Murphy or Alan Mannus there

Talking about keepers. What was the actually story with Cherrie. Was he released or did he opt to go himself?

The consensus appears to be that he was released. He did want to return to Scotland last year and he eventually agreed to stay for one more year. The club appear to have opted for Rogers as a more stable option.

Also the difficult thing for Cherrie was, SK told him this well before he completed the signing of Rogers.

Maybe he will progress under Stephen like Shields & Massey ...done well for Bray last year. imo he has improved with his experience gained at St Pats.

I must admit, I had a bit of chuckle when I read McGuinness saying he was looking forward to joining the other great players at Pats. Nice to see he's not short on self confidence anyway. :D
Strange to read here that Bucko is not keen on Finn. I would have thought he would be. Didn't he have him at Fingal ?. Think we need a quality replacement for Fahey anyway. Disappointing to see him go, but such is life. Still a Pats legend. As someone said earlier, hope he takes a nice wedge from Rovers (and contributes nothing on the pitch of course:))

No idea who Galway have in goals but Barry Ryan is better than him.

Galway's twitter account just sent a message to Ryan asking where he's going to next. Can't tell if they're being cheeky or they just don't know.

Connor Gleeson is the Galway keeper, a young lad who did well this season and should improve. Ryan was at Galway before, and while he was mostly good, he could be poor as well on occasions. You know who would be handy to get from Limerick; Stephen Folan.

No chance of that happening, he would be out of our reach financially, similar to Alan Keane who wanted a wedge to sign.
I can see us signing Davoren but that will probably be more to do with Sligo not wanting him because he's a crock.

I am also not convinced, good shot stopper but his mind does wander.

I was thinking Barry Ryan to Athlone. Not sure he'd have great memories of his time at Galway.
Galway's keeper Conor Gleeson has the potential to be the best in the league so I don't see us replacing him.
As someone has said though there's no outstanding keeper in the league. I'm not a big fan of Rogers. In fact we swapped him for Ryan from Pat's a few years ago which I was happy enough with.

O'Donnell has been given a hugely attractive offer which would put a strain on any club's playing budget.Rovers confidant he will sign 49hrs
O'Donnell is a player that is worth going the extra yard to get / keep

I'd take anytime Gerry Malone tweets with a pinch of salt, just this morning LMFM reported he was a done deal to Rovers to be confirmed on Friday.
