The ref in Newmarket tage game was a disgrace today gave 7 yellows and 2 reds to tage players and not one to Newmarket player also gave a pen to Newmarket that was never one all his decisions seemed to be one sided..

The standard of refereeing in Clare isn't the greatest IMO How they miss obvious decisions or get them wrong is not on...offsides, fair enough but clear fouls or pens.....Only seen 3-4 good refs this season. Must be plenty of refs between the four divisions!!

Heard a similiar report on on the standard of reffing in the Tage V Newmarket game also. Seen two other games where he gave 7 yellows to a team and none to other. And 1 other game 5 yellows and two reds to a team, again no to other.

Definitely agree some referees and their decisions this season's have been woeful, as for yesterdays ref having seen him a few times this season thought he was the best ref we've played under all season D.McCarthy I think.

Could of been four if fixtures weren't screwed up a few weeks ago... Bridge playing avenue and rock and four teams to be played in first round.
good see there is a good run in tho. Who will win it,

Haha I've heard some good excuses for a team not challenging for a league but this is the best yet. . We didn't want to play certain teams at certain times.. haha

People don't worry about what you say anyway, never have anything good to say about most clubs, defo the bridge.

Contrary to you dillusional opinion I actually like what the bridge management have done by giving youth its chance.. but for you to come on and say that they weren't happy with fixtures is stupid..if they were good enough to win league they would have won it..they weren't giving out about fixtures in the clare cup were they..

There's no doubting that the fixtures were a factor in Bridges season.
I don't think they had quite enough to win the league nevertheless.
But if they had been more knowledgable of the rule book they could have manipulated the fixture in their advantage, wether they chose not to is another thing.

Good relegation battle going on as well... Lifford, Corofin, M.Shannon, Conolly and Tage all in the mix :)

Tulla are in there too. Tage are safe. I reckon mountshannon and corofin for the drop. Lifford or Connolly for relegation playoff.

Tage are safe and have never been in doubt of relegation this year. Still 8 teams have everything to play for and tage and bridge will try finish as high as possible. Good to see in the league

The standard of officiating at the Cup Semi final last night was disgraceful, neither linesmen had a clue what they were doing, Terry Kennedy would have been better off on his own. They seemed to make up their own rules at times

Bad scenes after semi lastnite no doubt nothing will be done after a rock player got headbutted because it was a ave man that done it im sure if it was other way around the book would be thrown at him

Some of the carry on during and after the match last night were shameful. Avenue should hang their heads in shame. They also should have won and rock were lucky to get through. Any reports on the Newmarket and west Clare game?

Rock players resorted to basically kicking anyone in site. Fairplay to them it worked. And btw rock players were just as bad afterwards throwing punches. The officials did nothing. Players and managment from both sides should have got red cards.

There was unquestionably tough tackles from both sides but that was always expected in a town derby. However, some of what was said and done has no place in life never mind sport. If what happened after the final whistle had happened last night in town there would rightly have been an arrest. I wish I was surprised but I'm not

If it was 10 years ago I would have been playing. NI was standing behind the dug outs and the verbals from everyone , management supporters and players left a lot to be desired. Didn't go on the pitch after so you can ask the players or who ever went on it to see what happened. Have heard a few different stories. As have lots of people.

Went to my first Clare premier game tonight in Newmarket, great playing surface.

Newmarket played good football although Mountshannon were'nt up to premier level are all. Stephen Kelly scored from a set piece after 7 minutes. I have to say the 2 in midfield for Newmarket were excellent (Michael Crosby i think it was and Eoin Hayes).
Even as a limerick soccer man i think Hayes would would get on any junior team at the highest standard in my opinion, every bit as good as the lads playing for the big teams in town.
Though Newmarket should have won 10-0 it was only 1-0 when I left with 2 minutes to go.
Will go to a few more Clare games I think, standard was better than I expected.

Hayes is a fantastic player, clubs in limerick would do very well to get him. I m not sure if he would go in but I d love to see him give it a go

Eoin Hayes is the standout player in Clare right now. Between Hayes and Stephen Kelly Newmarket have two of the best players around. There is no doubt that they would make it in Limerick as would numerous other Clare players. Will Newmarket lose a few lads to hurling now? Dont know how the Senior Hurling is set up?
