Why would he go straight into the OT squad? Is this based on the fact he played the limerick under 20s?
Many an average player has played for them. Maybe in time he might be good enough. Lets see how he gets on with the bridge this season first.
Yes it was mainly based on the fact he played with the limerick u20's, he also had Irish u17/18 trials, I don' think both Limerick and Potentially Ireland Can be wrong about a players talent especially when OT would surely be a step down?? He is only young but surely good enough to get a place on the SQUAD .... Some fairly adverage players on the Squad IMO wont name any names as i wouldn't like to put any player down on this

Sure thats what a forum is about,discussion. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Players arnt going to cry if someone thinks they are average.

Who do you think are average players on the OT? You should be aware of what it takes to be an average player.

I never claimed to be a fantastic player, have I? But I am still entitled to my opinion of other players and as I said I don't come on here putting individuals down it isn't my style! I am guessing by your post that you yourself are on the OT panel for Clare? since you are coming on here saying I am an Average player in some sort of defense of yourself? Do you even know who I am? Because i haven't a clue who you are so maybe you should tell me who you are and I can give you my opinion on if I think you are Average or not, I think that's only fair;)

I never claimed to be a fantastic player, have I? But I am still entitled to my opinion of other players and as I said I don't come on here putting individuals down it isn't my style! I am guessing by your post that you yourself are on the OT panel for Clare? since you are coming on here saying I am an Average player in some sort of defense of yourself? Do you even know who I am? Because i haven't a clue who you are so maybe you should tell me who you are and I can give you my opinion on if I think you are Average or not, I think that's only fair;)

I actually quoted Footballfriend because my question was directed to him. Since you mentioned it I will agree that you are not a fantastic player. :)

First, I never said anything about players being average, hibs did. I merely stated that people have opinions and thats its an forum for discussion and such things. You said I was average. Does it bother me,no. Do you know who I am?

I agree with you on the trials for the Irish teams but I stand by what I'm saying about the Limerick u20's. Lots of average players have played for that side. I've seen this young lad play myself plenty of times and yes he's a good player but good enough to start on the OT team? no not yet. He will eventually break into the squad. Also I've seen yourself play many times and for you to call players that have played for county teams average Is laughable.

only slagging if it is not true , So am i correct to assume that all the players on the OT Squad are the best 18-20 players in clare ?? we all have different opinions on players i could guarantee
you we would all if asked honestly class certain players as average / good / excellent so dont see the big deal on it ?

Can a player be called up to the squad after the competition has started aye?

A player can be called up at anytime any stage. Squads dont have to be named.

Keiran quinlan,Tom Whyte, john Keogh,john downs,I wasn't fibbing, it's my opinion, also Sean McDonald, Gavin Whyte, pa McMahon,(if snn town sign the form) who were missing.and my real point was, that only 3 of that squad I think are not from the bridge originally!..
Only 2 now heard Brian Monaghan going back to salt hill, is this true fifty. ?

No, I haven't insulted any individuals, people asking me to name names and I won't! But I will say Brian McGorrian, Jamie Egan and Garry Leahy should all possibly be on the panel, again just my opinion, no one else's, fair enough if you disagree, i really couldn't care less

I agree about jamie he would be a good addition but gary wouldn't get a game ahead of stephen hickey and Brian probably wouldn't start either. But ya all 3 should have been looked at definately

I've seen you play many times and it doesn't surprise me Hibs are struggling because of the quality of players they're picking from aren't good enough, and as you say yourself this is just my opinion. Now just on your opinions about the 3 lads you've mentioned to be good enough for the OT squad I agree slightly. The problem is the 3 lads haven't shown anything consistent in a long time. For example Jamie comes and goes from club to club when he feels like it and as for Brian you can't be sure if he'll stay in of a Saturday night and turn up Sunday. Both of these lads have let your own club down over the years. Gary is the same you might get burst of interest from him now and again, but to say he's good enough for the Clare squad is mad.can you answer me these few questions 1. How much of the Clare league have you seen? 2. Have you seen all the players on the Clare squad play? 3. Do you think them 3 lads would get into the Newmarket and Avenue teams that make up a big part of the Clare OT squad? I'm asking this because I don't think you've seen the likes of Brigdale, Ronan McCormack, Mark Roache, Daryl Eade, Colin Smyth, Croc just to name a few play? These are lads trying to get into the side in the positions the 3 lads you've mentioned play, and are all-round better players then them imo. Remember talent is only half of whats needed. The lads I've mentioned are also reliable which can't be said for the 3 lads.

Definitely agree with these statements, they have certainly been proven over the last few seasons, but IMO if you could get them to devote themselves to their respective clubs - Training/keeping fit/staying in on the weekends/ and not going back to GAA when their season is on i reckon they should definitely be considered for OT panel, not sure if they would start but sure thats just my opinion.

I wont be a sour grape as it sounds like you are yourself with your cockyness and cheap statement. The burren must have had a bad start to the season as they are not a bad side so best of luck for the rest of the season!

Line up was Peter Russell..BJ..Conor Neville..Collie..Wayne Regan..Jamie Egan..Brian Mcgorrian..Ray Quigley..Ryan Kelly..Cheeky and Gary Leahy...missing Darren duggan in defence..if they haven't won a game in 2 years that would mean they would be in division 2 at the very least?

No not really.. 2 years ago might not have won from january on and then didnt win a game last year and then didnt win one til this january thats 2 years .. had ye no subs..

Yeah, big ask if they lose at the weekend to go on and get promoted. Had a better squad last season and couldn't do it imo.

Would be a big ask alright but they still have to come out to us, massive game this weekend especially against a very inform ennistymon squad, 1 bad result last weekend shouldn't determine our season.

Steo had a course afaik, not sure about bobby, and egais and pa madden came off the bench, Don't know anything about free membership as im sure every1 paid theirs in full. Im just a club member and sure all the lads have paid or maybe I am "ryan" as second assumes :)

Steo on a course ?? strange as word was he did not show up and not impressed he had been dropped for a game a couple of games back for one or two players who were a bit worse for wear after a rough sat night !

Old git dont even bother ryan is coming on here defending olympic and he only just signed for them..why because it was easier join someone doing well rather than help a club in trouble. Not the first time hes done this. Ironic enough since he joined they havent won

my apologies so it seemed to be anything I had been saying I thought you were slating! But I do apologise, I agree and steo has played extremely well this season aswel but its a tough team for any attacking player to get into, I think our weak link is our defense. As for second your away with the fairys.

agree with you on attacking players and getting into team ,, but steo had already been in team and as I already said one of Olympic's best players it seems he may have been dropped to get other players into team if so a major mistake in my opinion. Olympic defence has been the weak link for a couple of seasons .. bj has been a good addation but need a good left back and need to get centre of defence sorted it also does not help that defence seems to change every week with positional changes and don't take it personal with posters here we all like a good bit of rising/stirring on her especially me at times :D

Steo is dead right if that's the case. Nothing worse turning up for a game and half the team still recovering from the night before. Go out after FFs!!
