They had a pretty serious falling-out as I recall that may have involved a practical joke - won't repeat the rumour here

Timmy Purcell is a forward. Released in November; was present at the end of season p!ss up anyway. Thought he did alright last year - granted in the First Division - with three goals in a three match spell followed by not getting much playing time. Was our top scorer in 2008, also with three. Waterford might have a use for him; if Pat's sign him, it'd further strengthen my opinion that they're going to struggle badly this season.

can we wait till a ball is kicked before assuming a team is gonna struggle. I thought Pats would have had a good season last season but we were gick in 90% of our games (bar europe)

What's wrong with him thinking your squad is ****? Timmy's not bad, but I wouldn't expect him to be topping the scoring charts any time soon.

Kelly was right up there as one of dundalks best last year...

Couple of young Shamrock Rovers players heading our way on loan by all accounts. They've a couple of prospects they want to give football to and Cousins has the connections there. Striker and a full back apparently.

Ha, I'll believe that when I see it. Heard he was looking for up on €750 a week which is what he was on in Bohs. Probably explains why he's without a club at the moment.

This is correct. Athletico would have offered him a deal, only for they felt he had gone too old now to make the transition. Had he been 2-3 years younger, he would have signed

Came on for second half of last night's friendly with Athlone (FT 1-0). Looked good, very lively. Played up front with Paddy Madden. not sure if we need another striker as we have Jayo, Raff, Quigley and Madden already there, haven't heard any of them leaving. Maybe Greene pulls a good pint !

Todays Sun says we have signed Thomas Heary and Inigo Enzenberger.

Good luck with this, in my view he is well past PD standard, caught out for pace on too many occasions last year including at
least 2 home games which resulted in a defeat by one goal. Had some decent games, can organise things well, but FD standard at the very best.

We can't pick and choose who we want to sign, the budget is tight, and any decent experienced player going is needed in what will be a young squad I'd imagine

Money is not always a solution.
Kev wants to come back to Harps, he has done for a while now. He says he wants to come back while he is still young enough and not when he is winding down his career.
Kenny and Derry were after Kevin but neither him nor Linfield would deal.

McHugh would be a huge signing for ye. Statement of intent for the coming season.

The squad James Gallagher has assembled on the clubs lowest budget in the past decade, is pretty strong and has generated a new feeling of optimism around the club (cautiously awaiting the kick in the nads). I would be happy with a promotion play-off place.
I would prefer to stay in the graveyard until we move into the new stadium in the next 2/3 seasons. Get things sorted off the field first and basically have a fresh start in a new ground.

Baba Issaka (ex Kildare County) played for Wexford Youths against Pat's as did confirmed new signing Dean Richards (Freebooters, Kilkenny) and a number of as yet unnamed signings/triallists.

It looks like Wallace is giving Noel O'Connor some freedom with the squad anyway.

Not happy with that at all. I wasn't counting on Harps being a threat this season. If I could find the smilies here, I'd have two, maybe three, angry faces!

Further to the Timmy Purcell to Blues rumours, he played the second half for us in Tralee on Saturday.
