You little Bohs upstarts, how dare you? Don't you know that Shams fans know literally everything to do with every League of Ireland clun since they moved to Tallaght.
You really ought to know better than to question them, or worse, remind them that are as much cheats as any other club going because they had a lot of debt written off too.
Oh but "that was the previous board" Ask me hole.

hope he was better for you's than he was for us.
i thought he was shocking player
One of the nicest lads you'll meet off the pitch, shocking attitude on it. Has to be the centre of attention all the time, if he's not happy then everyone else is brought down by him.
Never got a look in really at Pats when Mahon came on board (to say the both of them don't see eye to eye is an understatement), was brilliant in his 1st season with us and didn't give a ****e in his 2nd season. One stand out memory was in a match towards the end of his last season with us, he was captian and he lost the polt on the pitch with Gary Cronin, when the problem was Cawley's fault in the first place, he was quickly subbed and lost the captiancy.

But how can that be - someone at another club has an injunction from the Dutch Courts stating that no players may be signed by the current Champions until Brian Blessed has recovered the jade monkey before the next full moon...
It was in the latest edition of Neues Deutschland - so it MUST be true.
If so - nice couple of captures there

I've heard the rumours but the only confirmation I seen was in relation to McGlynn. Has Higgins been confirmed as well?

I've heard a rumour that Hendo has 10 players lined up for talks next week with the aim of signing 4 of them. Gary Sheehan, Connor Sinnott and Tadgh Purcell are 3 of the 4 he wants the most and apparently they want to come here aswel. I rekon we need a centre back badly aswel with the loss of Kenny Browne to Fingal so that could be number 4.
I'd also expect to see us making one big(ish) signing for the season. My gut feeling tells me it's going to be a Waterford man to join that been Shane Robinson. Heard he's looking to move back to Waterford for family reasons so watch this space.

How???
They havnt got any money, dont know what division they will be playing in and if Glen Crowe had a brain in his head he would avoid the potential to not get paid each week by moving down there!

Dundalk fullback Shaun kelly is rumoured to be heading Drogheda's way!
Oh I love a good financial crisis!!
If the figures in the Drogheda Indo are right then they will be paying Daly 11% of their budget. Are they going to pay Shaun Kelly another 11% of their annual budget?? Doesn't leave a hell of a lot to sign other players, but knowing Drogheda, as I do, they'll probably sign 18 players all on 11% of their planned budget!!

Is it true that Dundalk train in Celbridge, Co Kildare ?

Nope! Dundalk trained in Dundalk on the artifical surface last season under connor and also spent the afternoons in Felda Gym as Felda was a minor sponsor of the team! The Drogs train somewhere in Dublin though!

Nowhere in the DI does it mention what Daly is being paid so how do you work out its 11% of the budget? The crap that was posted on Orielweb, perhaps.
So please provide a source for this in-depth, insider knowledge of the financial dealings of a rival club...........
Otherwise its a pathetic post, just being a wum

If you go by word then Daly spoke with a few fans and mentioned that ye where offering him 650 quid a week and we only offered him 400! Thats just word of mouth!

“When Dundalk found out I was talking to Shamrock Rovers I received a phone call the week before the Gala night asking me to hold off from signing with anybody and to speak to the club again about a deal at the event. Nothing happened that night so I arranged with a member of the Trust to meet the club later that week but I spoke to Des Denning a few days later and I was told to hold off again for a few more days. At that stage I just couldn't wait any longer for Dundalk to offer me a deal.”DD Blog (http://blackandwhitetown.squarespace.com/)
Sorry Dillonman, but the Democrat quotes Michael Daly saying Dundalk never offered him anything. Thus the "word on the street" is wrong.
All the DI says about Daly is:
On a more positive note, the Boyneside club have been boosted by the news that Michael Daly looks set to sign on the dotted line from Co Louth rivals Dundalk.

Although this is a rumours thread, SMorgan has posted as a fact that the Drogs are spending 11% of their budget on Daly.
All I want is the proof because its very concerning, particularly as members of the claret and blue club (of which I am one) were told otherwise, directly by the people in charge of the club.

I think you are right to be concerned, but I can't see how you are going to get "proof" unless Drogheda Utd confirm their final budget and details of any eventual contract signed by Michael Daly.
The figure of 650 per week originated from Michael Daly (but not necessarily true!) The Drogheda Utd budget possibility of 200,000 (weekly equivilant of 5,000) comes from DUFC's Roisin Phillips in the Drogheda Indo article - http://www.drogheda-independent.ie/sport/soccer/drogs-facing-another-financial-crisis-1986446.html
Drogheda United had planned to run with a budget of around e260,000 next season similar to the figure for 2009 and the sum was based on half that amount coming from the Claret and Blue Club.
However, membership of that fund-raising group, which is set to take control of Drogheda United in 12 months' time, is only running at 265, well short of the 500 target. With each member paying e250 a year, the total raised to date is e66,250 leaving a shortfall of nearly e60,000.
The quoted 650 is a staggering 13% of the 5,000 (200k) or 10% of the original 6,500 (260k). Shaun Kelly has also claimed that Drogheda have offered him attractive terms, and he was on something in the region of 750 - 800 last season - either way it must be of concern to any Claret and Blue Club member if you have been told something significantly different about Daly.

The figure of €650 per week originated from Michael Daly (but not necessarily true!)Thanks Ezekial, you have confirmed my point. The same rumour had him saying that you offered him €450 - that was proven false by the DD.
So your assertion that we are spending 13% on him is also, not necessarily true.

I don't know the ins and outs of this, but it is fairly common for players leaving a club (especially to its rivals) to say they never received an offer from that club, a high profile example being Tevez wrangling his way to move to City without looking like a mercenary. Daly could be telling the truth but I'd still take it with a pinch of salt, footballers are a selfish breed by and large.

I really should have know better then to try and shed some light on this,as you appeared to ask for.
You seem more interested in dismissing SMorgans post then anything else.
Irrespective of what amount Michael Daly has been offered if DUFC's Roisin Phillips is to be believed there is a recipe for trouble at Drogheda with a budget of 5,000 per week.
Maybe those in the Claret and Blue Club are being told one thing about the budget, while the club are saying different to the media - its only about a month since a C & B member was telling me the budget would be 10k per week!
So your assertion that we are spending 13% on him is also, not necessarily true.
I made no such assertion - maybe you could enlighten us on the budget and Dalys deal as you understand it?

We've heard all this before from you. You reacted similarly when told that Drogheda having a massive wage bill was unsustainable a few seasons back and when you were told that your stadium was a pipe-dream that was never going to happen. The figures I quoted I heard from a number of independent sources and I know its common knowledge among your fellow supporters. Why not check it out with daviddrog? He'll back up what I am saying.
I'd add another "going bust" to your signature.

Just like to add a bit to what DM said, We trained on the artificial turf when we where playing a home game and for an away game we trained on Hiney Park (grass turf). Most of last years squad lived in the town and its nightclubs :P

It has a minor part to play as he has said that he wants to be closer to home but hey, ye are welcome to his type, will suit the "Drawda" well.
P.S. Im well aware of the geographical location of both places mentioned above. I brought the original point to play as a "Drog" said ye trained 3 times a week in Dublin...not Mosney.
