If you can't register him on the contract that he has signed and he refuses to sign another contract, would the club be willing to keep paying him to sit in the stands?

From what I can gather O'Neill won't sign him unless it's on a free as he wasn't impressed with being turned down in the first place.
Why has Turner changed his mind?

Why has Turner changed his mind?

No idea. Obviously not happy with something in the Sligo deal or possibly a personal clash with someone down there, he doesn't come across as the easiest fella to get along with.

He's a quality footballer but I think he's a big risk for any club to sign, he can look very unfit and disinterested at times, I don't see him lasting in a highly disciplined setup, which probably explains his man love for Sean Connor's half baked ways.

I take it he didn't win the contract with Inter then. Kind of ruins the programme.:(

I heard he did win, but opted sign for Rovers on a years loan from Inter due to homesickness!

Decent player is Kearney. We had him down here for a season.

He was awful for us. We signed him as a left back because Hedderman was so bad, but Kearney couldn't even displace him. Played a bit in midfield, but was cat.

As for Cummins, I don't want to get my hopes too high, but it would be the making of our season if we keep him.

Thats looks like bad form on Turners behalf, I am aware that there was issues with the contract but Sligo were paying him so it will be interesting to see how this fares out.

Yeah he is a centre midfielder really - one of those players that finds it really hard to play anywhere else

Short and to the point!!:D

Seriously though I'd say he'll do a decent enough job for Dundalk if he gets an extended run in the team.

Rogers is the new manager of Bandon Afc in Cork so Id be surprised if he's playing for Shels.

Is he not just head of the Academy there? He does the same at Home Farm in Dublin. Not questioning you or anything, I know he has been training with Cork. I had heard that he was Shels bound

Hope not. He's a waster, beyond all the other wasters we may or may not have already. I'm sure he'd be going cheap as nobody seems to want him but that's no excuse. Screwed us over in his last spell as well, disappeared on holiday to America without telling the club or his manager before the cup final after taking his extra two weeks wages and new cup final suit, even though he couldn't play. A few people wouldn't want him back.

You'd probably have a fair few home fans joining in. I dunno, I can see why he's being linked as we're shopping in the bargain basement mostly but our chairman tends to hold a grudge, hopefully in this case. Wouldn't feel at all comfortable cheering for him.

In the Dundalk Democrat interview just after he pocketed his signing on fee from Sligo, he spouted an awful lot of rubbish, including this gem

Turner admitted that he was swayed to Sligo because of his relationship with Bit O'Red boss Paul Cook. The duo worked with each other for a short period in 2007 and Turner was impressed with the Scouser's ambitions for next season.

"When I knew I was leaving Dundalk it was a toss up between Shamrock Rovers and Sligo Rovers. The two managers I love working under are Paul Cook and Sean Connor so that was the reason I picked Sligo", he said
