Vinny Faherty is currently training with Crystal palace and should be signing a contract by the end of next week. 2 other london based clubs are also after him.
Really? Never rated him at all.

Derek Pender turned down a better offer from Shels, sums up Derek a really top Pro wants to play at the top level and I hope he has a great season with Pat's, Gareth Coughlan has huge potential and is a very skillful winger and will also do well for Pat's.
Pete is signing the right type of player.
dont think so mate. he was offered the same pittance at shels too.

He was an OK Premier Divison player based on what I saw of him but I wouldn't have said he'd be good enough to go to Crystal Palace. If the likes of Mooney and O'Donovan struggle to make a major impact in the Championship, I can't see him doing it.

My thoughts exactly.
They must think hes Spanish with that sexy hairband, that or hes sleeping his way to the top.

Cash - average at best. People said he improved a load near the end of the season but I think they were going OTT just because he was making more of an effort. Had a great 8-10 game spell last year, think he might have gotten goal of the month for a goal against cobh (could have been shams either). Not a good crosser of the ball at all and when he struggles for confidence he doesn't take the full back on enough. Not a bad player, but not a particularly good one.
Good to see we got a replacement for Ryan Guy then

Delighted to see Connor get a chance with a premier division team, he has great ability and can deliver a good set piece with both feet, can let a game pass him by too easily at times and needs players around him to get him on the ball, won't dominate games against better teams but can always make things happen. If anyone has the league cup final against Derry on tape anywhere have a look at it, he had a great game that day despite the hammering.
Just a pity it's not with the Youths, he was doing some promotions work for the club too so will certainly be missed.
What's Sinnot's position. Is he a centre midfielder??

Looks like an ex-UCD dream team of sorts if this turns out to be true. Quigley, McNally, Kenna, McFaul, Byrne and Finn. Kenna and McNally are excellent players, I'd rate McNally amongst the top 5 centre backs in the entire league. They've been a defensive partnership since the 2006 season and there won't be many, if any, teams with a better pairing than that.

That'd be his favourite position, he can play on both wings too and has even played a few games at right back for the Youths.

With two more singings at the back, will John Frost be part of Liam Buckley's plans next season ?

Surely those two wouldnt dislodge Paisley and Maher?

Definitely ahead Maher, Kenna might not get ahead of Paisley. Although I think he didn't play that often last season so perhaps Buckley wants a more reliable replacement. Kenna went two and a half seasons (or something ridiculous like that) without missing a league game for us.

I though McNally was very poor last seaosn with Drogs. He seemed very slow and laxadaisy!

Does anyone know what kind of player willo mc donagh is as we are constantly being linked with him. I'm following City in the Loi for the past 16 seasons and I've never heard of him.
From what I remember of him, he's a defensive midfielder and not shy in the tackle. Always seemed to be in a spot of bother with referees. Was with Boh's before following Roddy to Carlisle and Shamrock Rovers. I don't think he was a favourite with the Rovers fans. Now playing up north with Glenavon alongside Trevor Molly and Tony Grant.
2009 -2010 season- 22 apps (1 sub) and 7 goals and also 8 yellow cards !!

I take it Gannon and Robbie Doyle don't make your UCD dream team? :p
Wasn't Andy Haran with Pat's anyway? Strange to announce him as a new signing if so.
PETE MAHON SIGNS FOUR PLAYERS
St Patrick’s Athletic have today added four additions to the 2010 squad. They join recent signings: Gary Rogers, Derek Pender, Damian Lynch, Stuart Byrne and David McAllister.
ANDREW HARAN: Andy is a product of the Saints schoolboy system and first joined the club as a fifteen year old. The Julianstown man signed his first professional contract for St Pat's in 2009.
GARETH COUGHLAN - The 19 year old midfielder, like recent signing Derek Pender, has signed from Bray Wanderers. Promising young player who broke into the Bray team in 2008 and made 3 appearances against the Saints in 2009.
CONOR SINNOT: He finished the 2007 season as Wexford Youths top scorer with eight goals. Named in the PFAI First Division team of the year in 2007 and 2008. Was also one of three players nominated for the 2008 PFAI First Division player of the year.
BRIAN CASH: 25-year-old winger signed from Sligo Rovers. Enjoyed three seasons with the Bit O' Red making over 70 appearances and scoring 3 goals.
Where are St. Pat,s getting all this money from? Cash doesn’t come cheap, neither do those two lads from Bray!

Absolutely. Bray's wages were pretty low for first team players, and I'd presume their younger players would have been on less.

I did notice the "sarcasm". I was stating that Bray had a lower budget than Drogheda after all Drogheda's woes in pre season! Some people on here still think Drogheda had the lowest budget last season.

Shock as club in financial trouble looks to deflect their problems away.
Parkhouse and Holmes played LoI before, didn't they? Are they past it now or are they good signings? Interesting to see what sort of team Derry get together this year.
parkhouse and holmes played with Derry before a few years back and they were also at Finn Harps too..

Well it's not surprising if the rumours about Galway being demoted are true
Our Budget will be the lowest in the Premier and lower than at least 4 1st division teams hence the exodus. A rumour on Boards .ie was copied on here with nothing to back it although nothing would surprise me in the LOI anymore.

Reading the Mail there (yes they can bull**** but here goes)
-Ryan Guys off to Sweden, Germany or Denmark.
-Pat "the rat" Fenlon could be off to Dundee Utd.
-Bohs are set to unveil Barry Murphy, Chris O'Connor, Steven Gray, Gareth McGlynn, Ruaidhri Higgins, Raf Cretaro and Mark Quigley.
-Derry are lining up Shaun Holmes and Stephen Parkhouse. And should resign Deery.
