Am I the only one who thinks the pull out in the MN was pathetic. I mean to say isn't there 5 divisions in Mayo and the only team mentioned outside the Super League was Ballyvary. What a joke advertising that there was a supplement for "Mayo League Season" to focus on the only division that has a winner already. What about the other 35 teams or does it matter what happens in the lower leagues. #disgusted

Fully agree with you, only reason I picked it up was cause it was advertised as this 'great' Mayo League Season supplement!!

tut tut .. club people not knowing what's going on. I heard on Tuesday they had replaced clew bay b

me bad. only registered Wednesday. even the secretary didnt know anything about it. most of the players have never played for the boro before - only asked the chairman during the week can they use our pitch and facilities. strange one

I didn't think it was great. The presence of Mossy Lally on the judging panel was the reason two Manulla players got in. And David Horkan walks into any Mayo team of the past 20 years. Fergal Forde likewise. What team would people have picked?

Strange that Wexford facilitated Limerick with a change of date for the OT game but couldnt do likewise for Mayo in the previous round!

Mayo didn't ask for a fixture change either, only that the original match would be played on a Sunday, which is the normal day for such fixtures. Wexford then suddenly used their "right" as the home team to fix the match for a Saturday afternoon at 4-30!!!!Let anyone try to explain the logic of that.

Great start to the Super League - Well done to Snugboro Utd on jumping out of the blocks and to Manulla on a great win at home. Ballina Town win over Castlebar Celtic by 3-1 is a fine start for fergal forde men but has he the panel to keep it going?

Also Congrats to Celtic under 18 team on reaching the FAI youths final again - well done

Ross Kenny is the other player who has joined Murvue, it was rumoured that Duffy had quit football

Good to see clubs finally taking an interest again in their league and not just going along with the status quo. Bit of a uncomfortable night for the Leagues top table.

As we reach the halfway point in the leagues, how does everyone see it finishing up. Ballina look good at the moment for the Super. It looks a straight fight between Fahy and S & F. for premier A. Swinford and Westport B looking good in Prem B. Any one of six teams could be involved in Div 1. With Newport looking good for Div 2.

A lot of clubs struggling for funds up and down the county. Flag days and such are are huge lifeline . I know most clubs appreciate every penny they get. However I was left personally frustrated today when I gave to a local club and neither adult nor youth player acknowledge the fact with a simple thank you! Bad representation for the club and bad representation for local football in general !

Westport have yet to hit top gear in the league. They never had a settled side all season.

You could well be right Swinford, will take beating. Ballyglass will be good opposition for them if the celebrations are cut short from the weekend Ha:):) Some good draws else where. Wport ballyhaunis, the port should come out on top, Charlestown v Celtic might well be tight also. I can see Fahy beating Claremorris ??

any predictions for the connacht gold cup and shield?
many teams havn't been up to standard this year from what i've seen and heard!
Ballina should of had the league won by now but have let a poor Westport team and an average Ballyheane team back into contension!
Castlebar have been absolutly terrible but i reckon now with Kilkelly gone they will improve and bring back alot of talented players, keep an eye on them in the external cups!

Dont think Celtic will do jack in the external cups. The problems cant be solved overnight.

Don't know to your first question, 7 teams go into the open draw, 26 ties in round 1 +2 byes, 14 ties in round 2, 7 ties in round 3, so 7 teams into the open draw

rava
10/09/2013, 11:25 AM
I would say Sligo and Roscommon were put in because so few teams have entered FAI from these leagues in the past few seasons. 7 teams going through seems to be good though.

The Don

I think 7 places gives Mayo League teams a chance to get more teams into the open draw. If we are good enough of course!

Why would it depend on what he was convicted of?
Is that not already a matter of public record?
and rumours never sent a man to jail.
If we were all convicted on the basis of rumours spread the jails would be full!
