Ye must be think ye have a strong enough team to take the Premier title this year, or ye have no faith in the team being able to compete in the Super League?
I've heard S&F believe they will be the ones to gain from Claremorris pulling out...

Are you abe to read. I said for ANOTHER year. when we go up we want to be able to compete, we dont want to be one of those teams happy to go up and down every second year. Our team is young and another year in premier would help but if its super league then we will deal with that too. so anymore read the comment, dont jump to ignorant conclusions. good lad

What makes so sure that ye get up this year - fahy rovers, moyvilla, charlestown and s+f utd might have something to say about that but good luck to ye. Ignorant conclusions - no chance - ye def fancy your chances this year in the premier A - will ye win it monkey?

Well hopefully we can build on last year but we have lost a few players, of course these teams fancy their chances, it's a wide open league
From the sounds of it, the league better be more lenient to teams that cant fulfill fixtures. Its going to be a tough year for a lot of teams. Heard that the league itself is in turmoil with some in-house fighting going on, hence no start date for leagues.
id say there all just fighting with 1 man.........

Don't think you will be welcome on the shores of Beltran lake round tower . A team called Glenhest Rovers finished Respectable 4th in Iv 1 last season. Wouldn't say they were out
My apologies, manny a good batle we had up there. On a different note the ML has said the Charity Shield match between Westport Utd. and Castlebar Celtic will take place on April 14th and for the other clubs on the 20th - 21st.

Word has it Claremorris have lost a fair few A team players so wanted to withdraw the A's but keep their B team in the league, to do that the B team have to take the A teams place in the Super League....

disgrace. They hang on till the last minute to see how many teams will pay the extortionate fees and then finalise the divisions and fixtures. Nothing new.

The make up of the 4 divisions are now on the ML Facebook page, 44 teams this year, the top 3 divisions with 8 teams, divisions 2 and 3 with 10 teams in each. why did they change the bottom 2 divisions back into 10 teams each after all the effort to get divisions of 8 teams 2 seasons ago? Does anybody know where they stand at the start of a season anymore? Was this voted on? Answers on a postcard please. These clowns make it up as they go along. The quicker there's a clear out at the top of the mayo league the better. Comments?

Who would you put in instead? I think the leagues are fine - all tough divisions in fairest - Let the show begin!

Calm down hardcore! New teams have entered the league so they have to change things about. at what point was I not calm? Logical questions. A team can get relegated or promoted one season and be saved the next because there's an uneven number of teams? Put them back to 10s or leave them at 8s and if there's a division of 4 teams left over, let them play each other. Btw there would be no problem with teams pulling out if the fees weren't so high IMO

I must say a big well donw to the Mayo News for the excellent 12 page pullout preview to the new season. I always thought the Telegraph was the best for local soccer through Tom Kelly's involvement but the MN has now surpassed that. I hope they can keep up that increased effort throughout the season, and include some focus on teams in the lower divisions as well. It would be nice to see a small few lines on all teams containing players in / outs, aspirations etc.
Maybe, this is somthing that could be tried on a thread here??
Anyway, well done MN and keep it up !

Have Moy Villa B withdrawn from division 1? Also I see Snugboro B have replaced Clew Bay B in division 2. What's the procedure for Moy Villa at this stage. Surely the league cannot fine them if they entered them based on last season without confirming that they are actually putting a B team forward*..... Can they?

You would think they couldn't but knowing how money hungry the Mayo League can be I'm sure there will be a fine on it's way...
