you're bottom if you're the most **** team
Thanks for that:o fully agree with what you said about Dundalk too, came down here a week or two ago and despite them not being great still managed to come out 2-1 winners. They have a good set of fans too, for me they have everything a premier division club needs.

FIFA approved to what level ?
The pitch you have is not up to the standard of pitch required by current UEFA licensing. It may pass some standard but it doesn't pass the current standard for the Premier Division in this country.
IF,, that's IF you do finish first it will be interesting to see if the FAI back down.
Neither is any pitch in the first division then.
Because of our synthethic surface 2 tests needs to done. The test involved firing a ball at predetermined speed and to measure how long it would take for the ball to stop. The other test was the bounce of the ball. One of these tests failed. We where the only club that had to do the test and no grass surface in the first division and some of the premier would of passed those test as to their pitch conditions. The majority of away games i go to the pitches are in an awful state and they really are cabbage patches.
But when we do get promoted I would fully expect the pitch issue to be resolved and we will see Dundalk FC back where she belongs in the Premier Division.

Having seen Dundalks pitch this season I can say it has improved with age as the high bounce seems to have settled and now plays like a normal pitch

Personally, I think Fingal will crumble under any sort of pressure.... not enough backbone..
Rich coming from a dundalk fan I know... Limerick I would be worried about... Shels didnt look too great on friday - Yet we couldnt beat them.
If we can beat the next 3 - monahgan (h), longford (a) and wexford youths (h) I will start getting excited at our prospects... not too tall an order from what Ive seen.

the problems with the pitch in oriel can be solved with an investment in maintenance work that afaik hasn't yet been carried out. as jinxy said, that can addressed with promotion.
re the run in, dundalk have been grinding out the results despite not playing particularly well recently or having a regular goalscorer like Shels and SF have, so despite backing shels to go up, I'm gonna plump for the lilywhites.

The reason that your kip got a licence was because there was a promotion that week. Collect 10 packets of tayto and get a premier licence. Sadly we where all on holidays to miss it.
As far as i'm aware slight maintenance needs to be done on the pitch. The infill needs to be changed or more put in to it. The club is working with the installers to make sure that the test is passed this year for the 2009 season.

what about us the first day of the season??does it not count???
We were slow to start the season but i'd put that to the age old gelling a team together problem. I'm talking a mid season four or five games where no matter what we do we can't win like Shels have been on of late and Dundalk also to a lesser extent. Surely at least one of them or Waterford will get the better off us come seasons end. Hell Limerick too if they beat us monday coming.

No way we're gonna catch Shels and Dundalk. We'd be happy fighting for 3rd/4th place and building on that for next season.

just to keep your hopes up i remember saying Harps had no chance in catching us last season. They where further behind than Limerick are now. You never know and a 4 horse race where all 4 sides are dropping points and you are taking scalps along the way

A guy was saying to me on Saturday in Sligo to "put your house on Limerick". Now I don't know if I would go that far put the way things are looking id say he might not be far off.
It should be interesting, I might stick a tenner on Limerick and a fiver on Fingal :p

Dont be so sure - if we can catch 4th place we are right in it as they are all so close. Its all or nothing.
Its all down to Sporting Fingal on Monday - win that and we're right in the thick of it, lose and we'll stay fifth.
If we did somehow manage to win the whole thing we are really not ready for the premier, another season or two in 1st division would probably be better for us in the long run.

let me give you some home truths you did not get your A licence because your plastic bag was to badley worn and short of replacing the whole carpet you will not receive an A licence this year either however it is proberly acidemic as you will not be invited to the platium one party as your face does not fit so will be plying your trade in the graveyard for the next couple of years .. and people think cork was ridden rock solid and p.s

You are probably right but I said the same thing in 1995 when we battered Harps for 90 minutes but they held on for a scoreless draw and made the playoffs. We haven't been up since.
Eventhough we have beaten Shelas and Dundalk away in recent weeks I still can't see us doing it. A couple of injuries in key places would finish us.

Some of it is. In my old job I had to process applications from people from Inniskeen, Co. Louth. A small section is but what would you expect since you all used to be part of the great kingdom of Oriel which was mostly based in Monaghan. You were one of the sub-kingdoms my dear. :p

Yes and No. Sadly 5 months ago I moved house to Inniskeen. Certain parts of Inniskeen are in Louth but when you cross the fane river you are in Monaghan. It's a strange place cause when you go one way you are back in Louth, go north a few minutes you are in Armagh, stay where you are in Monaghan (spit). I use Dundalk, Co. Louth on all my mail and it still gets there but I use Monaghan for my motor insuarance.

Not much about 10 or 20 euro. I thought it would of been a lot cheaper as Insuarance in the Louth/Meath area is supposed to be the highest in the country.

Just say the Shels and Dundalk buses happen to crash into each other, Waterford go out of business and Sporting Fingal get Roddy Collins in as manager and we go up by default, we still wouldnt be allowed up with Jackman Park as a home.

poor sod .i fear this will impact greatly on shels chances
For me Limerick have been the form team and the most refreshing story so far of a 'who wants to win it first div' I think Fingal are ok, but I cant see them lasting the pace, injuries and a small squad will see to that, Waterford, I simply do not rate, which leaves ourselves and Shels, but we are awful upfront, if we dont address the problem in the next 7 days (transfer window) we will struggle to keep on top, I still think we may just sneak it, but this years team is not a patch on 2005 for my moneys worth so it all depends on who we get in upfront, or a miracle change in form from the current strikers.

I think we have had our fair share of injuries and bad luck and penalties so far this season. They say a season evens itself out and I think Limerick will finish strong until the end of the season. We won't go up but a strong finish will do the confidence of that young side a world of good. We have kept a clean sheet in the last 5 games and two of those games were away to the top two sides. That has to be good for the moral of such a young back five consisting of two 19 year olds a 20 year old and a 21 year old. The Fingal game on Monday is extremely important. The future is bright either way.

True but I'd fear Limerick ahead of Fingal. The more I think about the way they played in Oriel, their work rate, closing down, ability to soak up anything we tried to do, and especially their discipline, that I believe that they can really finish in the top 3.
Granted when we played Limerick, Dundalk where crap but I still think they can go on a run and they are only 11 points behind.
This season is a must for us to win the league. If we don't go up then we will have 3 dropping from the premier, plus the other 4 left behind.

Dont think Limerick or Sporting Franchise will be there come the end of the season. Dundalk Shels and Waterford are far better IMO and if it wasnt for Dundalk and Shels collapse these teams would be fighting in Mid-Table.
SF have moved up the league thanks Mr Robbie "handbag" Doyle and Peter "cheat" Hynes ducking and diving in the box getting penos left right and centre. Fair play to the man in the Tights for putting them away but without them goals would they be considered contenders?

The transitional phrases "comprising", "consisting essentially of" and "consisting of" define the scope of a claim with respect to what unrecited additional components or steps, if any, are excluded from the scope of the claim.
The transitional term "comprising", which is synonymous with "including," "containing," or "characterized by," is inclusive or open-ended and does not exclude additional, unrecited elements or method steps. …In contrast, the court noted the phrase "group consisting of" is a closed term….

Too much panic from Dundalk fans about not signing anyone. Last season, the signings upset the team badly. We are top, those around us haven't strengthened significantly so whats all the big worry? The team stays settled, continuity is always a good thing. Signings for the sake of signings are always a bad idea. I am not worried. Top of the league for a reason!
