'id b happy with a draw our away form tis season has'nt been great, and hopefully our home games against dundalk and shels willkeep us in it
A draw it is, 0-0.
Sounds like Shels won the 1st half and we won the 2nd.
Major controversy though with a penalty given to Flood when it was a free out, which he missed, and Keely should have been sent off for a cynical foul on Grincell as he was through on goal. Ducks and runs... :)

What minute was that?
About the 78th. Grincell foul was a minute or two later at the other end.

over the 90 minutes, we were the better team, shels shaded the first half and we outclassed them in the second, waters and clarke especialy gud down the left.fitzpatrick was class when he came on at half time. delaney made a few gud second half saves, a draw probably a fair result. thought the penalty was pretty harsh, good penalty though :D don't think keely should have been sent off, seemed to be covering defenders behind him. shels could have nicked it in the last few mins, missed a few gud chances. great entertainment though, and graham kelly was terrible,AGAIN, got decisions wrong for both sides.

Did i just read that GRAHAM KELLY got another game? Has anyone heard of a ref being in charge of about 7 Limerick games this season and awarding 10 penos if not more in those games. His two pens in the Limerick Monaghan game on Friday were soft and even the limerick goal which was scored from open play (at half time the limerick scorer questioned his pen award to Mons and his reply was, "shur if you hadnt scored i would have awarded you a pen!") the limerick player asked for what? he ran off to his dressing room. And to hear he messed up yet again is no surprise.
I know in the prem clubs think his brother is bad or average but lads you've seen nothing like this guy as he walks in and together with two less then adaquate officials takes €750 per game from cash strapped clubs.

The Dundalk v Waterford game shows that Graham Kelly doesn't know what a penalty is.

Pathetic stuff. When you've to say Keddy was one of our best players its really dodgy.

Not to add anything to the debate, just to inform ye that his father Pat, the referee's co-ordinator, was at the game.
Went up last night, have to say,i think that to say waterford outclassed Shels in 2nd half is rubbish!! Yes they were better than they were in the 1st half, but only because in the 1st half you didnt even have what resembled an attack.Forsyth should have put Shels in front when dispossesing your keeper in the 1st half. And in the 2nd although Delaney made a few decent saves, the 2nd half was the "Anto Flood Miss Of The Season" Competition. In reality Shels were the better team and could easily have won 3 or 4 nil on another day.
That said a draw is not a bad result for Dundalk.I dont fear Waterford,we have outplayed you in all 3 meetings this year, and altough we have only 6 points to show for it,i am sure a number of our players are looking forward to settling a score in thr R.S.C

if dundalk go up no offence but robbie farrell is not a premier division footballer.. did nothin for us did nothin for dublin city.. .
I don't think he is a first division player to be honest has been absolutely rubbish this season. Hard to tell what Robbie Martin is like as he has been injured most of the time. Only strikers i'd keep if we go up are Baker and Mulvenna

i can't understand how u come to a conclusion like that. was really disappointed with shels, just a team of hackers like. shels were nothing in the second half and we definately could have won it, could have gone either way shels couldnt even win it with a little present from the ref. bring on dundalk!

The Waterford Dundalk is going to be massive. Already booked that day off work.

If Dundalk, Shels go up they will stay up.
Fingal would be 50/50 to go down should they go up.
If Waterford go up they will go straight back down, bottom of the league.
Thats my prediction for the winner of this league next year.

robbie martin never really rated with us.. that prediction he made at start of season of scorin 25 goals a season is a bit strange to say the least.. baker i would rate very highly... was top scorer for us in his first season..

Agree about Dundalk but sorry to say sporting would have a better chance of staying up than shels. Sporting have more money at the moment so would be able to invest more on players. Now when the money runs out i think we might be in trouble.
Shels longer term future would be more secure than ours at the moment. As long as they have learnt from the past.
Doesnt really matter anyway because we will both be in this league next year.

Can someone explain the link. Between Kitchener and Shels. I can fathom a guess but it'd be a guess.

Shels fans may have been inspired by other fans in Europe using that image rather than the original 'Recruitment ' poster.
Speaking of Lord Kitchener and coloured coats.

Keep the head up there. We are better than everybody else in this league. Gutted about the last minute goal but the main thing was we didn't lose. We've gone there and played much better and lost. Waterford still have to go there on the last day remember.

Of our seven remaining games, four are at home and the two away ones that aren't against Waterford are against Wexford and Kildare - second bottom and bottom in the table respectively.
You only have three of your remaining seven at home. Your fixtures include tough trips to Limerick and Fingal with two of your three home games against ourselves and Shelbourne (who we don't have to play again).
With that in mind, I think it is a must for Waterford to beat us in the RSC. I think a draw for us would be more than enough, with a defeat for Dundalk denting but not ending our title challenge.
Don't know about must-win, as there's plenty of scope for dropping points on both sides still. Must-not-lose definitely.
You're dead right though that the potential for slippage is much greater for us. We've by the far harder run-in, and start that run-in two points behind ye, and so have to be considered HUGE underdogs for the title.
Very much Dundalk's to throw away.

agreed, but the blues-dundalk will only be relevent depending on the results before that. more slip-ups in store i think.definately dundalk's to throw away from here on in.
Paddy Power: dundalk 4/7, blues 2/1, shels 8-1, fingal 14-1
Boylesports: Dundalk 1/2, blues 9/4, shels 9/1, fingal 14/1

It's not ours to throw away. We can win 6 out of 7 and lose the league providing you win the remainder of your games.
7 games out of a league of 10 is a lot to start talking about throwing it away.
I can't see Waterford or Dundalk dropping many points from now until the end of the season. The Waterford Dundalk game will be the cruch tie so all talk is very premature until that game comes up.
Big night tonight, come on you lillywhites!!!!
My prediction...4-0.

i'd be happy with 3 points at this stage. Don't care how we score.
There is a few former lilywhites in the longford team and Perth wouldn't mind I'd say getting one over us but we should win and nothing less is expected
Fully expect the win out of ye tonight.
To be honest, and no offence to Longford, if you can't beat them at home...
First of the very handy run in you have.
We need a real slice of good fortune, but I can't see it happening tonight. Really is yours to throw away.

It wouldnt surprise me if we mess up again...every time we build up a lead...we lose it an den some 1 overtakes us for a few weeks!!our main scoring striker atm is suspended (farrell) and baker cant score, mulvenna not in good form atm and well I think havin vaughan back is a negative point!!!lol my verdict is a draw!!bad night here tonight....weather is awful!!lol

It depends how we are defensively. We had a good bit of the game against Waterford but at least two of their three goals were down to us being sloppy. If we manage to not let in a goal we'll get something :) .

Having watched Longford in tolka recently I'd imagine you'll hit double figures tonight :)
Also they were gifted a few great chances by our less than perfect back four and managed to mess them up.
Dundalk to win 6-1
its seeming more and more likely that our match against dundalk will decide this division this year.
I also wouldnt agree, think we will both have 3 games after the RSC game, so anything could happen - shd be an interesting game though
one thing for sure though, both waterford and dundalk will each drop points between now and end of season, who drops the least will finish top.
And deservingly so too

We were at our lowest at that time. We've come on a bit since then with a change in manager. At the moment it's 0-1 in Oriel!.
