Try this one.....
Ireland is a hypocrit, Hes going on about spending time with his young family when actually hes banished to adu dhabi (how ever many hundred miles away) when he could be an hour flight away??
That would of been a good point
WTF!!!! It would have indeed...
Wassup... Trouble in Paradise?? Why don't you nibble on his elbow.... That always melts his butter!!!

Sorry Stu but this should be kept open. Part of being an Ireland fan should be an utter contempt for this guy. I suggest we rename it Stephen Ireland - Enemy of the State and then we can hopefully chart his every misfortune.

We've a massive game tomorrow - lets treat this person with the indifference he deserves.
Anyone who's posted on here regularly should get involved in the match debate and forget about......................who are we on about again????

Not the same as last season for me. Just mo. Anyway fcuk him gobsh1t.
Surely the poll should be asking as to whether he should be hanged, shot or guillotined?

Or should he grow up possibly!

Stephen Ireland is entirely predictable which is why he is so loved by the media.
If Trap, Brady and co. went begging to Stephen Ireland he'd say he's no interest in playing for Ireland.
When they say they won't do any more, the chapter is closed, Stephen Ireland will come out and say he still wants to play for Ireland.
And the whole cycle continues again, egged on by the morons in the media.

Stephen Ireland has given up of his own accord the chance to be remembered like the players that played in matches like the ones shown on the thread below
Anyone got any footage of the 77 or 81 France games to share?

Anyone read the twerp's comments in both the Times & Indo today?
I really liked DO'D's response in the Indo. You're not Roy Keane playing to Cork sensitivities so shut it. Irish Times just sat on the fence. Didn't read Eaxminer yet.

He's also the subject of the big hagiography, sorry, interview in today's Guardian sport section. If only we could post comments (in the normal Grauniad way) so that online readers could be left in no doubt as to what we think of the narcissistic ballsack. We can't, I suspect, for this very reason.

I'd go for all 3 in that order.
In fairness this is a lot to do with lazy journalism IMO. If an Ireland international is coming up and you want an article without having to do too much work then contact "dial a quote" for a story. In today's Star on the front page is the heading "Ireland won t come back if Ireland qualify, shocker". What would be the real "shocker" is if Ireland would have him back if Ireland qualify.

If he wants to come back , he can come back AFTER the world cup for the euro2012 qualifiers. If doesnt then good luck to him.
But imo he does not deserve to be discussed today considering whats at stake on tonights game and the game on wednesday.
All our focus should be on the players and staff who havent given it their all to get us this far.
I really feel this thread should be closed till the playoffs are finished.

the media really have to take some of the blame on keeping the fire burning on this on going debate, on the morning of irelands biggest game since possibly the WC in 2002, even the major broadsheets are getting in on it, 'I never really enjoyed my time playing for ireland', reads the headline in the times today, look, we heard this from steven almost a month ago, all this does is unsettle the team and continues to make steven look like the hard done by one, weather todays articles even stevens doings, or the media looking for more and more ways of keeping todays fixture in the spot light, not that it needs much more, kindly do us all a favour, steven, do one, and the media, ffs, find something else to write about, its boring now.

That's exactly my theory. The more he's asked the less likely this incredibly immature person is likely to do it. If he's ignored he'll come back, I am sure of it.

Muppet of the highest regard!
He should not even be left back into the country let alone be considered for squads in years to come. He will be at home tonight polishing his egg head while our boys will be overcoming a French hurdle!!

Poor timing on his part to come out with this stuff today. Media obviously went for those comments today given the topicality of the team at the moment but he should know better than to make controversial statements at the moment, if he wants to make them save them for next week. The media aimed the same kind of questions at Andy Reid and he was far more respectful and less sensationalistic in his answer.

I don't know if has been mentioned elsewhere (also - I don't really like bumping this thread), but, I was watching RTE1 yesterday and during an ad-break it previewed one of those Scannal programs - the subject of which is Stephen Ireland.
I think it is scheduled for Monday evening. (in case anyone remains interested ;))

Ireland is a talented player no doubt but just cannot be relied on. You couldn't build a team around him that's for sure.
While it would be great to have him on the bench I think for all concerned the way things are now is fine.
He's said he has no interest playing for Ireland, although in a few months he'll probably start saying how he wants to play for Ireland and the media will run with the story again.

Same here in Australia. There are a few private torrent sites dedicated to British TV but they don't allow Irish content (obviously). I often wondered whether there'd be an appetite for a torrent site dedicated to Irish TV or maybe there already is one?

I've found a programme called Identity Cloaker which you can use to connect to proxy servers from around the world. I've used the trial and it looks like it worked fine. My google went to .ie instead of.co.uk. Pity that it has a subscription service rather than a one off payment and it's not that cheap. I'm going to hunt around for a free alternative.

How the mighty have fallen, he cant even get off the bench anymore. Which brings me to note: maybe he will need us more than we need him.
I can see him calling Trap any minute to convince him to include him in the Brazil game. This way he can show off and maybe someone will swoop in with a bid.
