whats your honest opion on promotion / winning league is 16/1 a good price.. .. :ball:

Bottom line we are no where near ready for promotion...that said it dosn't mean we wont try and get promoted...as for can we do it..i dont see why not...as i said earlier..the general feeling around the club is we can beat summerville at home..we have beaten wembley already this season in the league granted it was at home and it was very close....we have mungret this weekend and the result of that will go along way to telling where we will be come the end of the season.

we also have park to play and what you need to understand about that game is that from and position in the league go out the window....anyone could win

but to sum up i have no idea whether we will go up or not...but we will keep plugging away and hopefully..........

SUMMERVILLE WON 3-0. BUT HOME ADVANTAGE REALLY COUNTS IN THIS MATCH. THINK SHANNON WON 4-1 OUT IN SHANNON LAST SEASON.

Its no wonder summerville are running away with the league so if their home
advantage is getting them 3 goals a match..

You're right Shannon probably are stronger but Mungret are no push-over, and they really need the win to stay in it, home advantage aswell......

I'd just like to ask this - since Wembley are good enough to get to the quarter final of the fai and possibly further, why are they struggling to get promoted from a league of fairly mediocre standard? Is it down to the attitude being wrong for the league matches?? Or simply that local teams know how to play them and bully them off the pitch??

Any ideas

There is no need to put your house on it next year as wembly will be promoted this year and i am fairly certain of that!!! Hopefully along with ourselves...they are too good for 1a this year and thats my opinion!!!
Good luck to them in the fai as well..Good representitives for 1a football!!!

the minors make a massive impact and they have only been available for fai matches...... they just give us that extra bit especially in the final third.....

why cant they p**s it this year?? If anything, this is the weakest 1A league in years and it'll probably be much stronger next year with the teams coming down from premier and up from 1B. Maybe Wembley just don't have what it takes to consistently perform at the level they play in the fai.

And maybe other teams in 1A bring Wembley down to their level

Thats stretching the limits of credibility a bit - Cappamore were by far the best in 1B last season, but just hanging on in 1A. I find it a little hard to believe that Kilmallock, Dromore, etc. have made such huge improvements in one season that they'll be stronger than the current 1A crop !

I agree one one point, if wembley dont get promoted this year, they will struggle next year. Would not want to be fighting for promtion with star, herberstown or charleville next season.

compared with summerville, bruff and shannon and the rest this year, the opposition is only going to get tougher.

surely its all relative and its abit niave to assume that next years league will be any tougher who knows what players will leave who will stay how a team will take relegation...there are loads or factors that determine how a team will play and how a league will pan out

i wouldn't agree with you there, teams coming down more often and not lose there best players and the players that they keep are probably just good enough for the division they are being relegated to,if they were that strong they wouldn't be getting relegated in the first place

even though it was said on this site that wembley had a free weekend. which is correct because they had asked the ldmc. just another fine example of what a nice club summerville are. afraid to play them because they will beat ye. if your going to win the league win it properly not by walk overs. this game should be re-arrange and wembley given the benefit of the doubt...

Could this be due to the new committee at the LDMC not having got to grips with their job yet ? This is the first round of leage games since the old committee went, my suspicion is perhaps the ldmc screwed up !

I agree with Parkfan, its a very hollow victory for Summerville, and deprived the league of what should have been perhaps the best game of the season.

For your info - you won't get the points, just because you were there doesn’t guarantee that, the LDMC will have to make a decision on the facts laid before it.

Wembley where due to play Killester in the FAI today (this takes precedence over league matches), as they had requested a free weekend some time ago it was deferred until next week.

As was said above this was due to the interim LDMC committee messing up, common sense will prevail and the match will be replayed.
