can see where u are coming from... but you cannot also stop players from coming into club also .. if manager thinks there good enough
... cannot comment on younger players as i dont know much about them.. if they are playing youth football .. would it not make more sense for them to play for newtown b at least they would be getting a few games .. ??? and then sureley a team would be the next step up :D

thats true you cant old git. but i used to play for newtown and came thru the youths i was playin a team when i was 15.. if your old enuff your gud enuff.. believe me the young players are there. look back at the previous threads and youll see what im say ing bout young lads needing to play good opposition to learn the ropes..

Would you not be of the thought that soccer in shannon is struggling? i mean we have one player under 20...granted he has been our best player this season when he plays, he plays gaelic football aswell you see and that takes priority.....after that the rest of us are in our twenties with some in their thirty's.
six teams in such a small catchment area is too much(im including bunratty and rineanna)

It was said 2 years ago, thats why there was a strong attempt to amalgamate the 4 Shannon Clubs,1st shannon Town dropped then Olympic then Park backed out.Shannon soccer is finished while there are 4 clubs there,1 team might have a good year but looking to the future it's not good.
Park are the best example of what can happen to a club, good men like Webby and Anto Nolan who could also see the future was bleak....

would not agree with needing to play good opposition to learn ropes

i started of many years ago in 2nd division straight from youth football it was a tough bloody experience but well worth it in my opionion.. i just think young lads need plenty of games at any level..
but again i will add you just cannot expect late twentys/ early thirty players to step aside either for these young players :D

stop talking crap,,manager never had a problem wit you..if anything he gave you too many bloody chances...you left cause you were too childish to tell him you had a problem wit someone else coming on instead of you..you wouldn't answer his texts or calls...how come everyone else on the panel(22 players) had no problem wit the manager who helped the club to 2 throphies...you never let him down!!! i can remember 3 games you never turned up for no text or anything..if park asked you at the beginning of the year why did you sign wit olympic B this year...you also wanted to be transfered to park and didnt want to pay you registration for this year..o ya reminds me you owe for last year too..so before you come on here slagging the clare league and olympics manager..tell everyone what your really like...you still took your winners medals didnt you...

hold up!! i didnt take the medal get your facts rite it nestles in the bottom of a bin in fabricated products i dont want anything i dont earn. i informed the manager that because i was doin my finals in college i was not available for the rest of the season. i never complained that i wasnt playing other lads tried alot harder than me that year i had no arguements thats why i said nothing. but sending very rude messages 1 day before i left for america was very petty. maybe the fact that i had no job and was in depth and had to come home form america due to a bereavement had a part to play in that in the fee.. as for this season i left because of that particular manager and the treatment of my brother who has been at that club even longer than that manager in question.. probably even longer than you my friend. i signed because my brother was there and keith seems to know what he is doin his training was good.

Can't see many matches going ahead if weather contiues - i'd say Hogan park is in sh"t and summerville's pitch might n't hold that amount of rain either

can't understand why 6 teams have no league match ( i know wembly are in FAI but surely two other matches could be played), especially when at this time of year matches are being called off and peole won't have a game for 4-5 weeks including holidays etc

Ya if the weather continues the way it is all week I cant see many of these games being played.

Dont think Hogan park is in the best shape at the moment.
What are PArks and Bruffs pitches like.

League might call off all games if the weather gets really bad. Otherwise I think it will be down to the ref on the day of the game.

If the game is not called off then the ref will turn up to the game and if he thinks the pitch is unplayable it will be called off. If he thinks it is playable then it will be on. I dont refs will call off a game just for the sake of it.

i know the theory behind it alrite.. im just talking about past experiences at schoolboy level when a small quantity of refs wud call off a game just for the sake of it they still got theyre money. i suppose it wouldnt happen at junior level

Its up to the home club to inform the fixtures secretary every Saturday if their pitch is playable or not. If they do not ring the FS the pitch will be inspected by the ref before kick off time.

Definitely not worth playing in this weather. We had a game a game last weekend and thanks to the wind it was like a lottery. Plus pitches get ruined putting them out of action for weeks.

we went to shannon to play park, pitch was grand but park had only nine players an managed to convince the ref there was surface water,of course it was wet,it was rainin, and it was called off....absolute disgrace.....i know i shouldn't claim park just didn't want th game to go ahead but one of their players even said it....it's a disgrace that a eam gets to pick and choose when to play, they were down to play,if they couldn't field a team thats their problem,we should have gotten the points if they wouldn't play.

i know,i was shocked that it was off,it looked perfect, the ref didn't look up for it either tho, turned at about twenty past ten,no kit on or anything, shame too seein as the break is practically started, doubtful there'll be matches this week then it's five or six weeks without a game.
