Alright lads, you know where this will inevitably lead so we should probably skim over the Hibs' flag ban issue.
It actually was a post on the Hibs ban issue. They allow flags like the above and ban Hibs flags because they're green.

WHAT??

Where exactly is it going??

Its just a discussion about why home fans are allowed flags and away fans aren't. REALLY can't see this developing in anything bad

Just to end this discussion then, we have won our petition and are now allowed to bring our flags to Ibrox.

Up at Parkhead yesterday (with various retrobates from this MB  ) ; Celtic good/reasonable going forward, but their defence was woeful especially through the centre, 'wooden' was an understatement as they lost concentration in the last 10. & 2 points needlessly to a hard-working but limited Dundee United.

Other results this weekend hopefully will shake them out of any complacency as there was no real passion from either the players or crowd.
A big improvement is called for against Motherwell & Falkirk.

Though yesterday puts them out of the title race, good to see Hibs were allowed to take their flags to 'Castle G.'. It just shows the relative paranoia of the homesters, especially given Hibs's 'green' credentials just extends to their colour scheme! ;) Good luck anyway next Saturday.

i was brought along to parkhead on saturday as weel, and i have to say this celtic team (on the day) was terrible. to put all the blame on the defence would be quite easy, the amount of possession given away needlessly by lennon and maloney was unrealy (petrov was better, but still nothing special). and in fairness to varga, he did come up with a couple of excellent last ditch tackles.

celtic got three very soft goals (non existant marking for two headers, and a massive deflection).

chance for chance dundee united had probably 7 or 8 good chances to celtics 4 maybe 5. however celtic had three good shouts for penalties, which didn't help any paronia out there!!

Roy Keane ducked off to the toilet late on in Saturday’s Bank of Scotland Premierleague clash with Dundee United – just as manager Gordon Strachan was preparing to introduce him in an attempt to preserve a 3-1 lead.

The Corkman, out of action for a week with a hamstring strain, was deemed fit enough for a place on the bench against the Tangerines.

And, with his side 3-1 up with ten minutes remaining, Strachan was ready to send Keane on to add more defensive solidity to his side.

But by the time Keane’s call of nature had been answered, Celtic had conceded one goal – and the underdogs plundered another before the finish to take a point back to Perthshire.

Said Strachan: “The first time we were going to put Roy on he disappeared to the toilet somewhere and then we had to think about it again. We had one plan at 3-1 but another one at 3-2. By the time we spoke to Roy about it the other one went in.

“It was going to be a shutting up job at 3-1, but at 3-3 I decided we had to keep all of our attackers on.

"It’s happened before. It’s not Roy’s fault. I felt a bit sorry for him, but he has taken it well.” ((very decent of the manager  If I was the manager I'd be the one who would need to take it well))

i think strachan is covering his own back here. i've not that much interest in celtic, but was brought along to the match, and was hoping for keane to be brought on.

he stood stripped and standing at the dugout for a couple of minutes before dundee united's second goal, and then for the 4/5 minutes before the third, and then put his tracksuit back on. he was definately there ready to come on, and on a number of occasions the ball went out of play - i looked over expecting to see the change made. (and each time roy was standing there stripped).

now itprobably did happen, but there definately was time to bring him on before each goal, and they certainly needed him on - neil lennon was awful - gave the ball away all afternoon..

Hardly a weird signing by any means. Experienced and versatile. Tried and tested under Strachan (so was Telfer, yeah, yeah, I know). A short term deal, why not?

i suppose so but dont celtic already have hartson zurawksi maloney and beattie up front and are they really that stuck that they will play in defence a man in his mid thirties who has only played a small percentage of his career at the back

Poor Student

Beattie is injured for a while. He's had bad injury problems. Maloney makes a far better midfielder than he does a striker. Zurawski is in fine form at the moment though and Hartson is doing ok. For all we know it's the back line Dublin could be brought in to strengthen.

Dublin has been playing centre half all season for Leicester. I doubt he'll get much action at Celtic and we'll forget he ever played for them before too long. Just like Henchoz.

Dion Dublin is a STRIKER, just because he's been played in defence a few times by his old club doesn't mean anything

I could be wrong but I though Dublin played a lot more times as a centre half for Leicester than he did centre forward. His goalscoring ratio doesn't matter anyway, he's not at Celtic for his goals.

How can you honestly defend this signing? A Scottish friend of mine, who's a season ticket holder at Celtic, rang me last night going MAD about this. It just doesn't make sense, espescially with the Hun trying to steal Riordan off us for 250,000 (2 bids turned down at present, bring on midnight:mad: )

Now don't be getting silly Hibs4Ever, good player that Thompson is, he actually hasn't done anything yet and hasn't been around too long so you can't say he's been consistently good. I know he missed approx a year and a half with injury though.

Petrov on the other hand is proven quality and for me, one of the best box to box midfielders around. I'm just surprised that some of the top teams haven't been linked with him.

Hibs4Ever, I read this on another Board. Is it true do you know ?

"A lad who plays for Hibs in the scottish league, great player, heard he may have an Irish grandparent(s).For some unfathomable reason he hasnt been capped for Scotland, even though he is contending with dross like Nigel Quashie and barry ferguson who play same position. So Mr Staunton,if you read this board, get yourself over to Edinburgh!"

Too be honest I haven't heard anything about that. Looking through our midfield top players I can't think of anyone who hasn't been capped already. Will look into it though.

its articles like this that have some Celtic fans on the back of Strachan for 'lying'. Strachan said the first time he was going to bring Roy on he had gone to the toilet. That could have been the 70th minute for all anyone knows. He said he came back when it was still 3-1 and Keane was stripped off to come on but they scored.

He brought him on last night for the last 2 minutes after Maloney scored and put him in defence.

Why sign a player of Keane's calibre and not play him?? Celtic were crap again last night. Major major problems in defence.

He will play him, hopefully at the expense of Lennon. Strachan said last nights performance was the worst ever. They just don't seem to be able to handle being pressurised. IMO, Nakamura is the best player in the league at his best but he can't hack 2 or 3 players on him. Teams have copped onto how to beat Celtic and its just about putting them under pressure. They'll have to get used to it.

having only seen celtic play last saturday and last night - he has been celtic's worst player over the two games (well maybe lennon who was also awful). he has looked all at sea under the high ball.

on saturday, the defence started quite well, but after boruc flapped badly at a cross, panic stations seemed to set in with the defence for the rest of the game. last night was even worse..

Trust me, Boruc is the best keeper Celtic have had in the last decade. Last night he was tripped, nothing he can do about that. Last night he was poor with kickouts too but its unlike Boruc.

Thought the Hibs Right Back (Whittaker) looked very decent on Saturday. Also despite what you say H4E, Caldwell also looked a decent player (Can't say I've seen that much of him in the past) hopefully he'll be a decent signing for Celtic.

Rangers were muck, missed a few decent first half chances, then nothing. Boyd was well marshalled by Caldwell and Co.

I'd be happy enough with Hibs winning the cup this year (its been 92 years afterall!!).
