I don't think he's officially been transfer listed but they have had a huge falling out.
Rangers official statement says that PLG has chosen to drop him for todays game against Motherwell and installed Gavin Rae as captain. Some reports are saying he has been installed as the official club captain while others are suggesting it's just for todays game.
Ferguson has been riled by PLG in the past few weeks and this has been coming. I think this might be one occasion though where the manager might go before the player. The fans see Ferguson as one of the only one's currently showing the grit and skill required to help Rangers out of their predicament.
Considering how poor they have been under Le Guen and the fact that a lot of the fans are disallusioned with him, this might just be the straw that broke the camels back.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Le Guen had engineered all this himself to give him an easy exit in order to take up the PSG job.

possible, but what manager wants to work for a club where he can be easily undermined by a player and dictated to by fans?
The Rangers board have been spineless on this one. They obviously believed LeGuen was the man for the job, yet have been dictated to mob rule and a scumbag of a player.
By this rationale, the next Rangers gaffer will be chosen by Barry Ferguson and the fans, not the board.

There is that way of looking at it Joe but I honestly think it was a dangerous move by him regardless.
I think it's very obvious that he under rated the Scottish League and has been badly shown up for it. He signed below par foreign players and tended to discourage battling qualities which in this instance, was exactly what Rangers required.
By doing that to the one player the Rangers fans felt was trying, was either brave (or stupid depending which way you look at it) or clever. It's anybody's guess as to whether it was a ploy.
It's fair to say that not many people abroad will follow the Scottish league so if he left now, then he could always use "the players undermined me and didn't follow orders etc" line and he would still have his reputation relatively intact.

Weird goings-on with captains in the SPL. Steven Pressley being ousted, Barry Ferguson and Neil Lennon rowing with his own players! :D
Could be difficult for Rangers to attract good foreign manager when one player can dictate to the club like that.

just goes to show old favourite Barry ferguson has player power on his side which in fact has the club where it is today. second best. lets not use the Paul le guen as the scape goat.
the manager must always have the right to manage even it means when some players are under performing.
Any how the new man will sort him out one way or another.

Naka play vs Killie:

8 goals and 15 assists this season. I can only imagine how many assists he'd have if we had a really top striker. :) Most of Zurawski's goals were set up by Naka.

Good stuff EB, keep coming with the Nakamura links.
Out of interest what do you think his transfer fee would be, if you could bear thinking about that thought?

Going by fee's in England he's well worth an 8 figure sum. There's also the potential for clubs to earn a lot of money from him as he's the biggest icon in Japan atm. Nakata cost almost £20m and Nakamura's better than he ever was. I'd be disappointed if he left for less than £10m. If I was Strachan and had the choice between £10m or Naka though I'd choose Naka. :)

And being slightly off topic I hope Hibs can take the first step in ending a 105 year wait to win the Scottish Cup with a win at Pittodrie tonight.

They nearly did! Unfortunately once again this season they couldn't hold on to a lead.:( Still they played well and there was some good performances from young O'Neill and McCann. I'd be confident that they will beat the Dons next week.:)

Take it you mean McNeill? He was quality, and has looked very confident in all his games so far. The lad McCann was brilliant, but won't take Whittakers place unless Whittaker is moved into midfield. Stevenson done well when he came on too. Definitely should've won in Pittodrie, we were the better team, just. I was very confident of a replay win until the news on Chris Killen was confirmed yesterday. Collins will need to replace him soon.
As for the 2 muppets Brown and Thompson, we've got better midfielders without them, sooner they go the better

Who are your better midfielders than Brown and Thomson? Or did you mean you have a better midfield unit without them?

IMO Boozy, Stewart and Zemama are better than them (Boozy by a long shot) and young Dean Sheils is on par with them. They are great players, don't get me wrong, but the way they've conducted themselves in the media (especially Thompson with his column in the Daily Ranger) is a disgrace from guys who claim to be "die hard Hibees" You can be sure their agent McCock has a lot to do with it too. The club will be far better without them

While the players you mention are good players H4E, I think it might be a little sour grapes clouding your judgment on this one. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Brown and Thomson are great players YET, they are good players with great potential but they were quite obviously the best 2 players in the team on a regular basis.
Ok their form in the last few months hasn't been great but you are right in the respect that their agent has a lot to answer for.
I haven't been impressed with the way they've carried themselves publicly over the last couple of weeks either. The way things have gone recently, they club will be as you suggest, better off without them.

Agree with all there DFA, except them being best players, agree with their form slip has really been since the transfer stuff started, and they were very important to the team pre all this. But IMO and honestly every Hibs fan I know, Guillaume Beuzelin is BY FAR the best and most important player at Hibs.
The money we get for the other two (which should be around 5 or 5 mill.) would be great for Hibs to get new players in. Collins has made it clear they won't be going anywhere this season though. Will have to wait and see.
Strange how Brown ruled himself out with injury just before a cup match too  Wonder what his excuse will be for the replay

This is what I don't understand. I actually like all the players you mentioned too as individuals but if Brown and Thomson are good enough for Celtic then according to you so are 4 or 5 other Hibs players. Why are Hibs so inconsistent so? Rangers are absolutely terrible this season but they're still ahead of Hibs.

Can't explain our inconsistency, this season every club has been inconsistant in some way. Even celtic have had bad games, but still got results, thats what seperates them from everyone else. In the 2-2 draw at ER Hibs played Celtic off the park, but celtic still got a draw from the game, thats why they're champions. But the 4 players I mentioned are perfect in our misfield, when all there. There'll be injury's, and the Hibs squad isn't big enough. Now with Killen out for rest of the season, we're left with Benji and Fletcher. We don't have good enough cover.
About you saying the twins are good enough for Celtic, so was Riordan, then he wasn't. Maybe it wouldn't work out for them at celtic.

Have you heard the rumour that Craig Beattie could be going to Hibs, maybe on loan for the rest of the season? If he was back to the form he had before his long term injury it'd be a great signing.

Honestly haven't heard that yet, but with Killens injury would snap it up. Collins has promised a signing within next 2 weeks.
It might be used as part of a deal for the twins, as I remember McCock trying to use David Marshall as bait when we were having the Zibi problems

I rate Beattie and think that would be a great move for him. I think he has his work cut out to convince Strachan he can be a big player and his persistant injuries don't help.
If he can get a solid run though I think it would be a great move for both clubs whether it's a loan or permanent.

Delighted with todays win. I bloody hate Hearts. :) We played much better when Gravesen and Sno swapped roles and Gravesen played the holding role. Beattie played well when he came on. Todays win is a big psychological boost. Hopefully a big win against St Mirren on Saturday and start playing decent football for the Milan match.

was a brilliant win , only trouble is i am now gettign to the stage that even when they are behind and under the cosh i still KNOW they are going to pull it out of the bag!! i think sno is going to be a great player , jarosik is an enigma though , is there a world class player in there trying to get out ???

Even though both Gravesen and Jarosik haven't done as well as expected I feel Gravesen is a cert to be a success while Jarosik has shown us all he can give. tbh I can't say I ever saw much of Jarosik before this season so I don't know how good he is.
Gravesen is a very creative player who I prefer over Petrov. Plenty of Celtic fans want rid of him already though. I think his reputation is getting the better of many and they expected a world beater.

Good win by Hibs tonight. Very impressed with Stevenson and can't believe he's naturally a left back as he looks very creative. A bit of competition for Murphy there. He seems a very intelligient player and gets his head up at every opportunity. I missed the first 15 minutes but I actually didn't know Fletcher was playing until the 2nd half.
Something like Hibs 3rd or 4th away win in 17 months according to the commentator.

I was delighted when Celtic signed Jarosik as I'd seen a bit of him in the past and he looked a very intelligent and creative player. I saw him run the show for CSKA Moskow against Rangers and he did well for Birmingham while on loan there although he did miss a clutch of 1 -2 games with niggly injuries.
He hasn't quite recaptured any of that form yet but I always tend to expect a bit more in the 2nd season from foreign players to let them settle in.
If he didn't raise the bar a bit next season I'd be a little disappointed in him.

Some photo of Hartely there! As an optimist I'm hoping he'll be quality for the hoops. Might be just what we need to put a bit of spark back into CM.
Hope Maloney runs into his old pal Liam Miller in the championship sometime soon.
Beattie is a bit of an enigma. Looks lethal and just the kind of thing you need from time to time with his pace and power but the next match he's gone backwards, no first touch, needs 5 chances to score etc....
And Hibs aren't in the Scottish cup final(yet). It's the diddy league cup version. But I hope they win it too. At least they support their club, unlike most of the Killie 'fans' you'll get at hampden, Ibrox regulars alot of them.
