I don't see why Rangers just don't enter the English League pyramid.

Presumably, you're being tongue-in-cheek here - the local Football League club puts most provincial English towns on the map, just as say, Longford or Ballybofey here would be best known due to their soccer teams. That said, if they bought MK Dons, it would solve two problems in one go.

@frankieboyle: Rangers fixtures for next season look like the itinerary of a beleagured 12th Century warrior attempting to unite the Clans
@frankieboyle: Rangers don’t do walking away. Because the away games are now hundreds of miles away.

I believe Bury have already issued a pre-emptive notice telling Rangers, old or new, that they can sling there hook and be off elsewhere.

Lennon thinks some of their titles should be stripped from them. That will make him even more popular with the bears.

Wow. There's a few circles to square there alright. Incidently -I wonder how does Ally McCoist intend to action his stated intention that he will "never accept" titles being stripped from oldco Rangers. Is he going to resign on principle or just hide his sullied medals somewhere?
Maybe he could look to sell them on ebay where I suspect they might be worth a few bob for sheer novelty value rather than as tokens of having won something.

You can believe the haggling and horsetrading over the TV rights, but demanding the SPL drop the dual contracts investigation and not even countenance title stripping is just bizarre. Who has who over a barrel here? The arrogance is breathtaking.

I still believe that this is bad news for Celtic. I would be very surprised if their gates don't drop, their tv income drop, no buzz of the Old Firm game etc etc Hearts may possibly offer a challenge but I doubt it. SPL yawnfest.

Hmm, just like a few other national leagues.
Anyway, Celtic aren't that good. Would say they're unlikely to qualify for the CL Group stages and are as capable of losing to anyone in the SPL as well as beating them...

Rangers are now gloating that they're debt-free, and therefore in a much better position than all the clubs playing 3 levels higher than themselves, and in fact most of the teams in Europe too. I'm sure they're the envy of Scotland right now. Celtic fans must be so jealous.
“We’re ready with a strong balance sheet and a squad that can play at almost any level,” insisted the chairman, Malcolm Murray. Green said: “We’ve not got the debt that any of these clubs have. And, on the last day of the season, I would really enjoy some clever financial analyst looking at the balance sheets and debt-to-equity ratio of every club in Scotland.”

Thats right Mr Green the top of the table every football fan wants their club The Debt/Equity Ratio Table - That is laughable stuff.
I see Green has already blamed Bigotry and Jealousy as the reasons they werent admitted back to the SPL. It doesnt take long to become indoctrinated............. The cheating and liquidation and rules of the SFA/SFL/SPL were a smoke screen obviously....
I like how on one hand they want to continue with the line , we are the same club, 100+ years of history, 50+ league championships etc.etc.. however, they are now boasting that they no longer have the debt of that club because er....it no longer exists -Bizarre stuff.

Good win for Celtic last night. Saw a fair bit of the game. They looked more comfortable away from hope in Europe than they have been for a while. Could be a financial bonus to offset other drops in revenue.
Interesting tracksuit for Mr Lennon with tricolours on the inside of each collar. Is this Official garb or is Neil making a statement?

Why the capital for official? Lennon is no Sticky :)
The tricolour is flown at Celtic Pk on matchdays but it's not part of the official garb so one has to conclude that Lennon is making some sort of a statement.
I like it, the lad will not stand down.
Do you have a pic OwlsFan by any chance as the tricolor is worked into the new away jersey (see picture below) so might also be on the track suit in a similar way?

Fenlon seems to be turning Hibs around, after an average start, they're now up to second, only a point behind Motherwell. Last season's Cup run did suggest the potential there, good to see Doyle starting regularly.

In fairness, their league attendances haven't dropped this season. League Cup attendances in any league are lower than regular attendances.
Found a stream of BBC Alba, so got to watch the last while in Scots Gaelic. Had a good laugh. Especially as Rangers were hanging on with ten men until QoS equalised in the 90th minute to take the game into injury time.
Still no Third Division side has ever reached the final...

I see Rangers have been drawn at home to Elgin City in the Scottish Cup. They have got home draws in 6/7 cup games this season, their only away game against Forres Mechanics. Think it's 7/9 if you include the Ramsden's Cup. Just sayin!
Pat Fenlon's, joint top of the table, Hibs have been drawn at home to Hearts, in a repeat of last season's final.

The string of quotes in this piece about Snoop Dogg being interested in buying shares in Celtic are pure gold: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/entertainment/celebrity/rapper-snoop-dogg-has-sights-set-1443321
HIP HOP superstar Snoop Dogg has revealed he wants to buy a share in Celtic.
The Los Angeles-based rapper says he wants a seat on the board and is ready to shell out millions to get involved at the Parkhead club.
He said he has discussed his plans with pal David Beckham and claims he’ll get Becks into a Hoops jersey.
Snoop was inspired to get involved after watching the club, who are worth around £30million, beat Barcelona in the Champions League earlier this month.
He said: “I got a lot of interest in soccer. It’s not a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in sports teams but it is a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in soccer teams.
“I didn’t catch the whole Barcelona game but I watched the highlights. I know Barcelona are
a big deal, and it shows Celtic are a big deal as well.
“I see how passionate Celtic fans are about their team and I could see myself making an investment if any of the board wanted to sell.
“I haven’t really thought how much. I don’t need to run a soccer club but enough of a percentage to get me on the board so I can be heard.
“I want to bring a bit of Snoop to things.
“I am passionate about my sport. The boxes at Celtic would never be the same once I have hosted a party there.”
noop, 41, a qualified football coach who trains his son’s school team, sounded out ex-
Manchester United player and now LA Galaxy star Beckham for advice.
He said: “I asked my man David about Celtic and he was like, ‘Yeah, teams don’t come much bigger’.
“I would try and sign him up for a season but he is pretty happy over here. LA is home for him and his family now – but I would have to at least make that offer to my boy.
“We have lunch when we can, so next time, you know, I am going to speak to him about it. Never say never.”
The music producer and actor has been a fan of Celtic since he was pictured in a Hoops top in 2005.
Today, his favourite player is striker Georgios Samaras. He said: “I like Samaras a lot. He looks like a proper athlete and is a pretty dangerous player. If we are to go far in Europe, he needs to play well.”
And Snoop, who was once banned from coming to the UK after a series of drug and firearms offences, says he is so serious that he’d even consider buying a “crib” – or home – here to keep an eye on his investment.
The reformed character – who has sold more than 30million albums worldwide – said: “I love Scotland. I am so happy my UK ban is up. I love British Indian restaurants, man – but the best one I ever had was in Glasgow. The food blew me away, man.
“When I am away, I like to stay in hotels and have people look after me. But if I had investment in Celtic, that’s a different story. Maybe I would look for a crib over there.”
Snoop– who is is due back in the UK next year and has a documentary about his life, Reincarnation, also due for release – is not the only rap superstar to have a passion for Celtic.
Beyonce’s rapper husband Jay-Z was once snapped wearing a scarf.

Delighted for Hibs. After a three and a half year wait and 13(?) games, they have beaten Hearts at last. Watched the game on Sky. Have to be honest and say the standard was pretty poor and after their goal all their could do was kick the ball back to Hearts but they won and that's all with matter to their long suffering fans and Pat (almost said Tony) Fenton. Can they end their 100 year wait for the Cup!!?
Rumours of Arbroath applying to play in La Liga. They are afterall better than Barcelona :)

My favourite part of the Icey-Tea story:
The music producer and actor has been a fan of Celtic since he was pictured in a Hoops top in 2005.
So he wasn't that fussed before, but as soon as someone snapped him wearing that jersey he found on the street, he felt he had to become a massive fan!

Are the two mutually exclusive? Hmmm, perhaps we'd better not go there.
And Liam O'Brien is Fenlon's assistant. I remember O'Brien playing for Rovers, winning a title (possibly more) under Jim McLaughlin, before he took the Queen's shilling and he also played a few games for Ireland. Languid type of midfielder. Good to see him still in the game.

It will mean that if Rangers get promoted this season, which they will, they will be in the new National (3rd) division if it starts next season. I say it will be fudged and that it will come in 2014-2015 at the earliest to allow Rangers get back to the SPL/Premier (1st) divison.
