Referenced this Summer, if I recollect correctly, with typical bizarreness on the General Musings on Music Thread, which proves his bone fides.

And to keep the punches coming, Gerry Rafferty (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerry_Rafferty), only today, of liver failure.
Responsible for some great singles, in the 70s mainly. Stuck In The Middle With You, Get It Right Next Time, Baker Street of course. Still love Night Owl as much as ever, one of my all time faves, beautiful tune.

Son of a "hard drinking Irish father" apparently who died when he was only 16. Became a recluse but made €80k a year on royalties alone on Baker Street.

The renowned rock guitarist Gary Moore has died, the BBC has learned.

Mr Moore, 58, was, originally from Belfast, and was a former member of the legendary Irish group Thin Lizzy.

Adam Parsons, who manages Thin Lizzy, told the BBC that Mr Moore had died in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Mr Moore was originally drafted into Thin Lizzy by its singer Phil Lynott. He later gained acclaim for his solo work and was a former member of the Irish group Skid Row.

I was a little shocked to read that she was only 19 when she starred in that movie, and opposite Brando of all people. Not a healthy combination.
