There’s more to it than tiring and it being a sign of poor fitness. Keith Long has been notoriously reluctant to use his bench this season which has meant that a lot of our players have put in some serious minutes over the course of the season. Bucko was dead on his feet on around 55 minutes but didn’t even get subbed. I couldn’t understand it.

That said, unbelievable result and despite the weary legs, the subs helped and the end of the game was hilarious, we were so composed and really made mugs of them in the injury time. They didn’t barely leave their half for the last few mins of injury time. One of the great European results for an Irish team.

It was hilarious but I reckon they were fuming about what looked like a clear penalty towards the end. That said, the ref was equally as poor when it came to some clear Bohs free kicks.

Would need to be seen again but first impression on the foul on Kelly at the end it looked like a forearm was up in the face. Not so much a bought free or experience. Ward on a little earlier to put a foot on the ball and ping a dangerous pass in might have settled a few nerves earlier.

The context I wanted to share with you was that the legginess out there tonight was significantly attributable to the culmination of a lot of game time in the league and Europe for a small group of players. Not an issue of summer football not standing to us or a lack of conditioning which your posts seemed to imply.

Yeah! I cant see PAOK being beaten next week. They'll be sharper and want to make a point. I wouldnt totally rule out Bohs but they've made a mark, ruffled some Greek feathers. You know, I was going to mention Sligo-Rosenborg earlier but forgot in the excitement. That Sligo result was difficult to take as a neutral, as I seem to recall them throwing it away a bit. A cautionary tale for Bohs nonetheless, but tonight is also about celebrating one of the better individual LOI Euro results that many of us have seen.

Regardless of the result next week that was another special night in for our club... and with this bunch of players who knows. All it would take is a chance converted to change the complexion of the tie in Greece.

Last night's result won't be forgotten by Bohs fans. Kyiv were much better then to be fair then than now, or p_stu might point out revisionism on my part, they seemed to be getting to CL group stages then but I think this PAOK one is bigger and certainly bigger than the Sligo Rosenberg game, even though again Rosenberg were CL regulars in the mid 00s well before Sligo played them.

I think it was the manner of the performance, especially the first 50-55 mins where Bohs just matched them and outplayed them for spells in that period. Ya its definitely the best I have seen, and I have watched a lot at this stage!

Should Bohs fans be waking up elated this morning? Yes

Are PAOK still highly likely to progress? Yes.

I think trying to compare it to previous European results is a waste of time, and certainly comparing the standard of the opponents on a then and now or then and then basis is silly.

Rosenborg with several CL group stage campaigns probably have more European pedigree than PAOK? Again, yes. The likes of Gothenburg who Derry beat home and away certainly did for example but would be way off PAOK’s standard now, but this really is all irrelevant and is basically trying to make a comparison for the sake of making a comparison.

Bohs fans can understandbly be giddy about this, the rest of us can understandbly take a step back and more logically say super performance and result but still up against it big time. On the latter most of us hope we are wrong.

Impressive win by boez last night and good for the coefficient I presume.

Reports from the London PAOK lads was they enjoyed their day on the pi$$ in Dublin, thought the atmosphere generated by boez fans in almost empty stadium was decent, their own team looked still in pre season, and ref was atrocious, apparently.
The lads thought the "little guys" in midfield for boez were impressive , thought both teams looked shaky at the back and wondered why they bothered with the "lumbering guy upfront" - I told them he's the LOI top scorer... 😁.

One of them is going to the return game next week in Greece and seemed quietly confident of PAOK progressing.

PAOK are still strong favourites and rightly so, but last night is the most impressive win a LOI team has had in Europe since 2016. Fair play to them. It proves once again that LOI teams are capable of winning matches at that level, even if it only happens now and again. And it's another few points for the coefficient, which is always nice.

There's been dozens of teams that would have said they got a good draw and came out the worst. Bohs and Dundalk have gone and won 7 games between them so far and these are teams which aren't even in contention domestically. No matter what way you look at it, it's some achievement.

Mark McCadden reporting last night, that Bohs are the first Irish team to win 4 European games in a row. ever.

And anyone who saw the Stjarmen game in Iceland will know that Bohs should have won that too. They are a team that is suited to playing against footballing teams, and Lansdowne suits them hugely. This was clear last year against Videoton/Ferharvar, where they would have been full value to advance. these performances aren't a surprise. The match-ups they have around the pitch work really well Lyons & Coote, Buckley/Devoy, Wilson/Breslin & Burt, even Tierney & Kelly to a degree.

I'm a big fan of Cornwall, and was happy to see him back in instead of Feely, but he looked out of his depth to a degree last night, no shame considering who he was up against, but the Cornwall/Kelly partnership is decent too.

Yeah I have absolutely no qualms with fans not supporting other LOI teams I generally like to see them do well but can understand the flip side as well. I think with Rovers - Bohs in particular there can be no expectation that one would support the other in any way.

- Cork in 06 (vs Apollon - but hard to say how ahead of Cork Apollon were at that stage)
In the Uefa Cup:
- none.
In the Europa Lge:
- Pats in 2009 vs Krylia Sovetov
- UCD in 2015 vs Dudelangers
- Rovers in 2019 vs Apollon

So this Teuta crowd tonight appear to be away specialists , won the league in Albania last year with only 7 home wins from 18 match's and losing only 2 away matches in 18.
They backed this form up by losing at home 2 nil to the Andorrans before winning 3 nil away and losing 4 nil at home to Sheriff and only 1 nil away.

So whats a good result tonight??
I watched the matches against Inter and they did look good in patches but i think if we play well we win.

just to be clear, while mine was a pointless investigation, it was simply to see how many teams had won the first leg, not seeing how many progressed when drawn at home.
