Good results for LOI last night and a sign of progress perhaps, or just an acknowledgement of our level being the Europa Conference - which is no bad thing in my view.
Hopefully Rovers can get past Teuta, although our record in Europe when playing away second is not good. If we can take a lead to Albania and take it from there I guess.
Onwards and upwards.

Any crowds in Albania or whats going on there?

7 wins, Rovers beat slovan bratislava. Best result imo but knocked out on aggregate...thems the breaks

You lost the tie, so difficult to see how thats the best result? Dundalks last minute winner, I would say is the single best result. And heartiest congrats to them. Will Patching is a bit of class.

Dudelange just had too many top knotted and pony tailed journeymen. Seemingly the departure of their benefactor , a Luxembourgan version of Dermot Desmond , has left them short of cash of players.

Are we thinking it’ll take getting through this round before any of theses games get picked up by a tv station?

Yes, I’d imagine the playoff round is the earliest any games being shown by RTÉ but even then with the olympics and Paralympics on straight after it then RTÉ may not pick up any. Not sure if any other channels would show much interest.

Maybe the Clubs are better off doing their own broadcasting thing ? Getting people used to buying the broadcast as near directly as possible from them especially for the future.

Hopefully but it's 50-50. Maybe virgin may cover it. I actually think the commentator is great on virgin. Adds great passion for the goals.

Serious ticket selling, do bohs get the Aviva for free as part of this trial/test run ?

That, and the end of the Olympics. RTE will say they've already got plenty of sport on at the moment.

Though you'd think the speed at which the Bohs games have been selling out would spark a bit of interest with at least one broadcaster. And selling the feed for the PAOK game on to Greek television would probably make it worthwhile too.

Yeah, sold out in about 15 minutes, members/t holders must have bought well in excess of 6K.

Any chance of any Bohs fans going to Greece for the return?

Or is the ban on away fans still in place (officially of course)? Seems less needed now than it was a month ago tbh.

From all accounts , it seems that approx 50 Bohs fans at the Dudelange game. If exorbitant Ryanair flight prices are an indication, very heavy booking of Dublin Thessaloniki flights for next week!

Would be some athmosphere in Lansdowne if they had allowed a couple of thousand away fans down the North end

Hard to tell.
5,500 tickets for the Dudelange game were sold to members/ST ticket holders. Didn`t seem to be a limit on the number of pairs you could buy, so it could be that some of those are for new fans. If the two home euro matches are their introduction to LOI football, chances are that most of them will stick around for the future.

That be good in fairness. I don't see much hope of ye beating PAOK, but it's the kind of game that's a real step up from the usual LoI in Europe experience. Not quite Rovers v Milan last year, but heading in that direction.

Rovers will not play in the Aviva so Bohs can have it any day they want.
Happy to clarify since that ruling is that you cant have two ties in the one city in the same UEFA competition so Bohs had no choice in it! Wont make this game as too short of notice for annual leave when I was off for the last week anyway!

I got the same number of tickets as the number of goals I watched my beloved team, the Champions of Ireland scored against set piece athletic, including 2 lovely goals by Danny "ultra-white smile" Mandriou.

For a team who are probably wholesale on offer & for sale to the rest of the football world it was a brilliant performance by Dundalk. Fats has fairly stepped up his game,Patching has been amazing,Leahy,Sloggett & Boyle excellent all day.

Best wishes to Bohz - has been a pleasure watching them on the big park of Lansdowne, which really seems to suit them.

14 goals now for McMillan in Europe - level with Roy Keane and one behind Robbie Keane

A class act, i always love to see his name as a starter on the team sheet. You're always Guaranteed a goal or two when Davy Mac is playing. The guy epitomises professionalism. His hat-trick in last years FAI Cup final is a work of a goal poaching art! He's never got the recognition he fully deserves.

Big mistake if Rovers are focussed on who they play in the next round.

Plain enough sailing into ECL Group stage if they overcome Albanians.
