Sooner people on this forum realise that people don't want to take the risk and play for cork aul team it's hard to find time to go training with your own club never mind tell the missus that you have to go to another training 3 nights a week and game on weekend..people must realise that at end of day if fellas don't want to represent the team don't give them stick over this..I know alot of people put their are non - employed and take their soccer very serious but if for example I hurt myself playing for cork aul team and miss work for two weeks do you think that would benefit me and my local team no..of you ask me it's a complete waste of time and at the end of the the cork aul comic tee are the only winners with their free pints and free dinners and odd trip to aviva stadium for free while..sorry about the little rant but had to get it off my chest..

cant blame the management over the numbers , they called up 17 players like, bad form if players are pulling out at the last second giving management no chance to call up replacements !! but 1 thing i would point out is the timing of tonight's fixture as the colleges fixtures were on today so players would have been out twice in the space of a few hours which isent on in my opinion !! these things need to be looked at !!

Agree with ya there rooster all John Paul can do is call players up think 5 lads let him down tonight but as I said they played well

another game fixed vs rockmount next week so hopefully that might go better with the numbers situation !! cant fault any of the 13 who gave there all tonight , just a pity the rest cant buy into the aul set up like these guys !!

I think if JP has idea of the 18 players he's picking he should pull the plug on the game next week and try to get in a training session with the squad so they could go true set pieces and formation think at times tonight that's where they struggled but hope he can get the players out he's a nice fella who's trying his best

ya i'd go along with that , i think once he works on shape and formation they,ll be ok !!
killer scrapping it could be a disaster as we might take years to come back , anyway been from cork and a proud county , we should be competing year in year out in the oscar traynor !! look how strong the msl squad was last weekend that won the michael ward , pity we cant get our best 18 out and win the oscar traynor !!

Is there players not committing to it or what surely there is better lads out there that team not that strong being honest just my opinion fair play to john c banging in the goals for fun see his name everywhere scoring every week
rooster

Rooster you're spot on. The MSL get the best 18 in the league where as the AUL cant even get the best 11. Tonight was a farce. 13 players is absolutely disgraceful.
Fairplay to the 13 that showed up and tried their best tonight thats all they could do.
big test is friday 2 weeks so hopefully things will improve leading up to that and cork aul get the 3 points on the night

commitment , work , fatigue, management, injury, family matters all play a part in players not turning up, not wanting to play etc

Looks that way which is a pity but nobody really knows what goes on every single 1 of us on here would pick a different 11. The manager just has to pick what he can and work with that. Best of luck to them. Seen blarney st few weeks ago and John c looked razor sharp buzzing the lad is fair play to him.

5 lads not showing up or pulling out on the day isn't on to be fair but I would call up 20 players just to plan ahead for things like that. Where was Trevor Dunlea on that panel ? He was very good V MSL.
On another note it's much easier for the MSL to get there best lads out. There tournament is over 1 weekend not a few months so lads don't mind commiting too a few friendlies and training sessions on the run up to the Micheal Ward Cup. Head off Friday afternoon and back Sunday afternoon and it's over. That's why I think they get the best lads out.

I am not slating people here because the 13 who travelled a long distance to cobh last night deserve alot of credit. But where is the so called best players in there AUL. The likes of Nala, Jonathan Murray, Dunlea, Kinger, Jonathan Murphy, Judge, Hallisey, Delea, Willy Byrne, Stacky. Thats just a few, there is the makings of a serious team there if you add them to what was there last night the likes of Johnny C, Colm Forde, Wayne Cotter, Crowe, Scotty C.well kid i can only speak for our lads crow and john were there ..kinger is away and another lad had collage ..i encourage our lads to go..love to see halla there best left sided player out ther bar none .

Just to clear things up a bit .The Fai pay for the hotels as it is an FAI competition .Everything else is looked after by the msl ,lsl etc

Will they be struggling for numbers for the game next week I wonder?
it would be hard to imagine them short on numbers with the vast pool of players they have to pick from.
