Is Derry's game going to be in Aberystwyth?

I thought most LoW grounds didn't meet UEFA Licencing, so they often played in Newtown or somewhere?

From what I was told this evening, Derrys game is set to go ahead in Aberystwyth. There's 1,002 seats, with Derry supposedly getting an allocation of 150. Season ticket holders are to be given priority with a potential ballot taking place if demand is high.

Aberystwyth had already sold most of the home tickets before the draw was ever made.

Mr_Parker; I was just wondering who you were referring to when you said it was noted within the past few days that Derry's co-efficient benefitted from the inclusion of a point gained by the former entity in 2009-10. Who was doing the noting? You also said questions were being asked of UEFA. Who's asking these questions and do you envisage answers being forthcoming? For something so perplexing, it's received strangely scant attention. It surely doesn't conform in the slightest with competition rules.

I believe there are some press looking into it.

Of all the ties, I really hope RTÉ pick up Pat's v Legia Warsaw for live coverage. Wouldn't hold my breath, but it's a massive game and really deserves a bit of attention.

It will go down to the fee vs viewing figures. I reckon Legia would ask for too much and RTE wont show it.
Really hope I'm wrong though. These are the games that showcase the league and get the barstoolers interested too.

Don't know when exact dates for Champions' League games get decided.

The away leg? It'll be on setanta if anything. The rights in Ireland won't cost too much as RTE won't have any interest.

More than likely they will have both legs. Polsat have the rights to it, well they did last year. If the worse comes to the worse Pats fans can watch it on the pub on foreign satellite if none of the local broadcasters are showing it.

By uefa regulations Derry are entitled to 5% capacity plus they have the right to buy up to an additional 200 'top category' tickets for vip supporters/ sponsors etc. Season tickets could be classified as vip.

If you're referring to Richmond, it hasn't had a slope for many a year, Keep up:p

I wasn't but it has it's own faults such as easily waterlogging and cutting up during matches but sure it's grass so these things don't matter! I'm done talking about pitches now (until it's brought up in the next thread).

I'm assuming this'll go ahead even if Dundalk progress. If Dundalk do progress they'd be home to Esch Thursday 10, away to Rovers Sunday 13, away to Hajduk Thursday 17. Not ideal but not the worst.

Charlie Darwin

I disagree. Hard to think of any more ideal preparation for a European tie than a nice away win on the way to the airport.

Reported today that UEFA confirmed that they added in the ranking points from the defunct club, which they hadn't done previously.

Should we be bothered? Derry got seeded, better chance of getting through, better co-efficient points chances.

Best of luck to them.

Sure, it's no secret at this stage, it's basically the same club that had a debt wiped away and got away with serious financial mismanagement with absolutely no repercussions.

Really? What else did you want the FAI do to us apart from turf us out of the League and make us re-apply and also only receive a license as long as we paid all footballing debt owed?

Yep Benny,Dundalk kicking off the LOI European action in Luxembourg at 4.45pm today.A good few fans already there in place to support the Lilywhites and the main body of support expected to arrive later. Dundalk expecting about 200 to travel.Opponents look difficult enough esp on their home turf.

Think that is a bit of a red herring as the match is not being broadcast in Lux so unless they have somone at the match there is no host broadcaster to piggy back

I was on that site and our match is listed, but I cant see it being broadcast, to be fair who would really be that interested apart from both clubs and a few on here.

Could be a tricky match, we should beat them over the two legs, but no one really knows the standard of these guys, so any sort of positive result will do for me tonight. I think they are in pre season still, so hopefully that will stand to us.
