Hopefully they can hold onto the win, very capable of getting a draw against these at home.

Not a disaster, still leading the tie and Rosenborg will still need to score two.

I'm braced for the usual hard luck story.

Charlie Darwin
17/07/2014, 6:42 PM
They're a bit rattled by that. Booting the ball up now rather than looking for a pass in midfield like they were before.

MeathDrog

Why the hell wasn't that squared. Should be 3-1.

Guessing that due to the fact the seedings would have had Ekranus going through. With them being bottom of the Swedish league, I fancied the Crues. Especially after their performances in the last round.
It is yeah; still strange seeing a nordy team seeded in the second round. Very very tough for a NI team in pre-season going to get anything from a Swedish side in mid-season though.

Great take from Rogers there.

Result!

Well done Sligo.

Even provoked a bit of noise from the Rosenborg fans at the end.

I fancied them to get a result there but a win! Well done Sligo. Don't let it slip next week.

Bad start for Dundalk but plenty of time in that one.

Sligo Hoops.

Brilliant result for the bit O'Red. On a par with what the Hoops did in Belgrade.

You'd have won 3-1 out there so;)

No surprise Dundalk are 1-0 down as they forgot to lose on Sunday. Then again, they probably couldn't have lost if they tried.

And it doesn't look like we'll have to prove otherwise any time soon!

Extratime (http://www.extratime.ie/fixtures/detail/26788/1/) looks best bet for Dundalk.

Hajduk started better and had a good chance before scoring, but Dundalk have come back into it and gone close since.

So it seems.

Delighted for Sligo. Rosenborg aren't the name they once were but this is still a superb result. Hopefully they can finish it off next week.

After last season I thought we'd be in for a long barren period for LOI clubs in Europe but its going better than anyone could have expected really.

Hajduk's goal tonight is the first time the LoI teams have even gone behind in Europe this season.

Derry doing ok; already had a goal ruled out for offside.

Dundalk unlucky to be behind it seems.Split had one chance and scored, since then it has been all Dundalk from what i can make out from the commentary and twitter reports from people at the match.
Well done Sligo with a fantastic result tonight and also hope Derry can comeback from an early setback.

Missed the Sligo game and was relying on text updates. Snapping now I missed it, but a phenomenal result. Well done, Sligo. Any vids of the goals? Heard Sligo's first was a deflected stinker; the type of goal to which League of Ireland sides would typically fall victim in Europe. Nice. :) And Sligo will be seeded in the next round if they can finish off the tie in Sligo. Were Sligo dominant and did Rosenborg look dangerous enough to overturn the deficit in the second leg?

Check out ErrTÉ's report of the game: http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/irish/2014/0717/631475-rosenborg-v-sligo-rovers/

Sligo Rovers recorded a magnificent 2-1 win over Norwegian giants Rosenborg in the first leg of their Europa League second qualifying round encounter at the Lerkendal Stadion.

Alan Keane handed Rovers the lead on 54 minutes before Danny North's goal sent shockwaves throughout European football as he tapped home Sligo's second.

Rosenborg pulled back a priceless away goal ten minutes from time courtesy of an unfortunate David Cawley own goal.

Derry and Dundalk scores bringing us back down to earth. :(

Fair play to Pats and Sligo for getting positive results away from home in Europe.
Hope pats wont regret conceding the last minute equaliser.
sligo have a great chance to make it into the next round if they can keep their cool

Summer football is a positive- anyone who disagrees is not very bright.
