Just going by what I was told glenbuck..surely a referee inspecter should go and watch one of his games...selling gear before and after games has to be wrong too especially if ur a referee lik..
he is one of the most ignorant man I have ever met....always was and will be a clown.....he likes to be in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. He has been involved in some major decisions down the years involving teams going for the league title....i saw him rob villa utd a few years back against kinsale and he did the same to millstreet against springfield....they are just two daylight robberies that I saw and im sure there are plenty more....

I'd be here all day if i was to start complaining about this ref. I could prob start a whole new forum on that alone.

Wow!
Some totally OTT posts about the referee in the park v Kinsale game last weekend!
I didn't agree with all his decisions but that happens every week.
I didn't think he had a bad game and the pen was missed so it didn't influence the result of the game.
As for the comment about the villa v Kinsale game from 2006...
That's nearly as bad as England giving out about Maradonas handball in 1986.
Get over it!
Villa lost that league by 7pts btw so why bring it up 6 years later??
Also I don't think anonymous posters should be slating refs on this site.

I hope I'm still anonymous :)
What I mean is that we are all anonymous here.
Maybe we can make an educated guess who some posters are but in the majority of cases we won't know exactly who is posting. In some cases a number of guys post under the one name.
We shouldn't name refs and then slate them.
It's not fair.
Worst case - mention decisions he got wrong and do not name him.
This is my opinion

Fair enough on the naming & shaming, agreed there on that one. It's just when you have 15/16 players who get up on a sunday morning at 8/830am after staying away from pubs the night before to go and play a game - something thats voluntary because you love playing - and then you get someone who destroys a game, who is getting paid to do the job, its really really frustrating. Im not having a pop off all refs, there are some really good ones.... But you get what i'm saying. I know the refs job can be impossible but they're the ones getting the moolah not ourselves. But fair enough about naming & shaming..

I hear ya JRyno.
Mistakes that cost us games are frustrating.
Be it refs, centre halves, keepers or coaches.
Mistakes are made everywhere.
No ref is perfect - we see this in the English premiership all the time. But I really think that they are trying to do their best. That is all we can ask for I think.
That won't stop me having a go next Saturday ;)

anyone any news on the new cork aul manager.just a quick question for everyone do anyone no how many players playing premier and premier a players are on aul panel and how was the blarney st manager the goalkeeper coach taught u had to be good keeper to coach:):):)
Bubba, obviously a swipe at Casilles! You don't have to be a good keeper to be a good goalkeeping coach, and you don't have to be a good player to be a outfield coach. Jose or Alex Ferguson weren't the best players and turned out just fine!
Shilts

Ya I suppose that's true shilts...so who do everyone think is best ref in aul at the moment....
There are a lot of good refs!
I think Gene Stephens is the most consistent
John Lyne is also very good
These 2 are the best in my opinion.
Take into account that I haven't seen all the refs!

I never said anything about kinsale I was referring to the two games that I was a spectator and the ref in question gave probably the worst displays of referring I have ever seen..and you are in no position to be telling people that if they are anonymous they should not be slating refs...im not involved with any club and I am entitled to give my opinion as a neutral spectator as I see it without taking sides

In my opinion anonymous posters (like you and me) should not come on here and slate refs and name them.
That is my opinion - it is not a rule!!!
If you wish to do differently then go ahead.
The worst that can happen is for an anonymous poster to disagree with you.
No big deal ;)

I do think that this forum is for the likes of commenting on refs etc, but let the reader do his own digging if he wants to find out the ref was. And thats from someone who has named and shamed in error before.
On the subject of refs, I thought the shortage had gone but it seems to be back again. Does anyone have any thoeries to why? I would have thought the €84 tax free every weekend would be a temptation for a lot in these hard times. Im lucky enough to have a job, but if I didnt i would seriously consider it to pay the bills.

Christmass time is here so going to have a go at predicting the 2011/12 league winners .This will more then likely bite me in the rear but here goes . Prem is to tight to call with many teams having played only 1 or 2 games but i'm going to go with Kinsale with form they've shown in cups i think they will pick up results .I fear Macroom are in a bit of bother 5 games with no return . Prem A is going to be tough but i think springfield will just come out on top over a very good Pearse outfit i just think Springfield been there done that in last 2 seasons with back to back promotions Gratten in trouble in prem a . League 1 is Glen Celtics to win 7 games from 7 so far Shandon look like they are going down .In 1A its going to be Douglas Hall put plenty of good teams in that league but can't see Douglas dropping too many pionts .Donoughmore are in big trouble here 11 games played only 3 pionts . In 2 Casement to take this league easy and macroom B and Waterloo to dog it out in the bottom .2a looks like 3 horse race WiltonB Brooklodge and Springfield to battle it out here going to go with Brooklodge here . Churchvilla and Central to dog i out at the bottom .3 Hillington league to win or lose up to them here in 3A ParkB and Knocknahenny to battle it out for winners spot going to go with Park B in 3B Lakewood to win it handy . Hope it won't come back to bite me feel free to pick it apart i'm sure ye will :)
not looking to bad on my predictions
Well said Dixie. I havent been on in a while. Its not that i wont report on the games we lose. Pearse at home tomorrow. Tough game, they beat us twice already and i think they are a seriously good outfit. Well organised and very motivated. Will need to be at our best to get something but we know how important three points are for us at this stage. Best of luck to everyone this weekend and look forward to reading match reports/football talk afterwards.

Whats the situation with promotion and relegation in the 2nd and 3rd division? Is it 3 up 3 down or 2 up and down from each league? Any info would be handy
Promotion and relegation procedure for 2011/12 will be as follows:
Premier: 2 Relegated.
Premier A: Two automatically promoted. Two automatically relegated.
Third from bottom will play the winners of a playoff game between the two second place teams in the League 1 and League 1A.
If the play-off team wins the game against the third bottom team from Premier A then they will be promoted and third from bottom in Premier A will be relegated to first division.
If the third bottom team wins then they will stay in Premier A.
First Division: One automatically promoted. Two relegated from each section.
Two second placed teams will play off for the right to play the third bottom team in Premier A in a play off for an extra promotion/relegation position.
Second Division: Two automatically promoted/Two automatically relegated from each section.
Third Division: One from each section automatically promoted.
Three second placed teams in each section will take part in a round robin league to decide on the fourth team to be promoted to second division.

Castleview 3 v 0 Blackstone. Beaten by the best side we have faced this season. We are disapointed in the concession of early goals and the manner of them but fairplay to Castleview they punished the errors. The rest of the game had Castleview with most of the ball, but our keeper didnt really have a save of note. Our back 5, especially, worked really hard. We had a few chances ourselves but they are a class act.

Went to watch the Glen play This morning and What a performance they gave. They could've got 4 or 5 more with all the chances They created. And the thing is Cathedral Celtic are no bad side. As the game wore on you could see the Glens fitness telling. Am looking forward to watching them against Killumney in the AOH quarter final next sunday. Should be some game.

I went to see 3 premier a games at weekend..castle view looked very strong against blackstone, grattan will feel a bit hard done by against carrigtohill conceding a very harsh penalty with only a few minutes to go and the ref blowing up the game when grattan had put a great cross in the box...very strange call to be honest as the keeper actually dropped the ball and grattan scored but the whistle was gone and Springfield beat bohs yesterday in a one sided game at fairfield....I was also told of a team who could be in trouble for racist remarks about a black player a few weeks back....apparently the ref abanded the game when he heard the comments from the line....did anyone hear of anything regarding this situation....if it's true the team in question should be punished severely
The Boar
12/03/2012, 11:45 AM
I agree if there is truth to that then the sideline should be severly punished we don't want that sort of thing becoming part of the game its suppose to be a sport a Saturday or Sunday game of ball we don't need that sort of thing coming from any sideline it's up to each club to make sure their sideline do not partake in this sort of behaviour it is totally unacceptable and should not be tolerated under any circumstances, there is no excuse for it. I hope the league is seen to act fast if there is truth to it, but to be honest I would prefer there was no truth to it.

I heard the team that was abused walked off and refused to play - ref didnt abandon it. Has to be expulsion from the league - simple as.

yes I totally agree with you...the aul need to be strong in this situation as this is a very serious matter...abuse from sidelines is bad but when someone is abused over the colour of their skin the aul need to act fast....fair play to the team for walking off

In this day and age and with all that is going on in professional football people should keep their racism to themselves. I've seen Glen Celtic play a few times this seen and it's obvious the club isn't a racist club! Again a few individuals bringing everybody down again, hopefully the AUL are swift in nipping this in the bud and the club can move forward, they are making a great name for themselves with the football they are playing!

I have also watched the glen playing this season and I have praised them in many posts but that was their a team who have nothing got to do with the allegation I heard about at the weekend...as for nipping it in the bud ..you are dead right with that but whoever the team is or whoever the individual is that made disgusting remarks against a black player should be severly punished before nipping it in the bud dont you think

Racial abuse must not be tolerated, it is a disgrace this day and age for a black player giving up his evenings training and playing a match at the weekend to have to listen to that sh_t. The player or supporters who made the remarks should be banned and made accountable in court, the next step would be a fine for the club and or expulsion, it's a pure and utter disgrace that a game of soccer has come to this stage where a player gets abused for the colour of his skin !!!!!
