Even it being Mons we brought more then that to Terryland for a game against Mervue and we dont exactly have massive support.

Let me get this straight:
-You travelled from Limerick to Galway to watch a two teams, neither of whom you support
-You took the time to make and put up a banner about something that even your club officials have let go of
-And when you were there, instead of watching and enjoying the game, you individually counted the away fans.

Of what you said this is what i did.......And i dont see anything wrong with it ive travelled to Galway games anytime they were playing and we weren't to give them a bit of financial support.
Ive also travelled to Dublin to watch some of Pats Euro games is that ok with you?
The banner was up and all when i got to the ground the 1st i knew it was anything to do with Limerick fans is when i seen them sitting behind it.
Ive already said it was someone else that counted them.
Yet again you are talking complete nonsense...You have just completely made up that i had anything to do with the banner or counting your fans.
Keep trying though one of these one of your posts about Limerick fans might be accurate.

you individually counted the away fans.
I counted the crowd while fiddling with a camera lens during the first half. Game wasn't exactly an edge of seat affair, took me all of thirty seconds to count. Then I went to the bathroom. Then I smoked a cigarette.* (designated smoking areas :bulgy:)

*washed my hands inbetween the bathroom and the cigarette obviously.

Judging by the end of last season, they'll outnumber the home support.

Here's an accurate statement- you're tedious.
That's why I started my post with 'let me get this straight'. Of course there's nothing wrong with going to a game as a neutral, I've been to loads of games where I don't follow either team, but I'm just a bit amazed at the carry on of some of the Limerick fans on here.

111 Monaghan fans seems accurate to me, which is a very poor support for such a big game. However fair play to the club for putting out a decent enough team on what must be a small budget. Still a fanbase no greater that Sporting Fingal must be a worry as they look to establish themselves in the top tier of Irish soccer.

magicme would tell you the amount of mons at it. I thought it was way more than 110..in fairness to the commentator I know him personally and he doenst make up any figures at all. He would have done his research before hand and was in the Menlo along with me talkin to Mons fans before the game..

At least 180 of us there. The mistake made in the count may be that a lot of the fans werent wearing colours and some even sat down throughout the game (shocking I know!)
Yes it was small for a "final" but I know lots who couldnt make it coz we were leaving at 3.30 on a friday and couldnt get out of work in time.
We do need more fans to come to games but against Galway at home there were about 700 there with 40 of them being Galway so it is improving.
The last time we were in the Premier we did have higher attendances than in the first division so I reckon there will be an increase again.
As for TOD's comment about the lack of bunting etc, if he had gotten off his butt and come to Monaghan before the Cup Final last year he would have seen the numerous banners, bunting, flags and Eason's shop window which had a display.

Pure tripe.
Firstly, there was nowhere near 180 Monaghan fans in Terryland. Just over 100 which is pathetic for a game on a Friday that you are huge favourites for.
Secondly, there was a lot more than 40 Galway fans at Gortakeegan, we had 40 on our supporters bus alone! There was around 80 or 90 I'd say which was respectable for a Tuesday night (you're bitching about a game being on a Friday) and a tie we were huge underdogs for.
And thirdly, there was nowhere near 700 at your home game. I would say 500-600 at best, which is quite frankly disappointing for a game that you were huge favourites for, I was expecting at least 1000 Monaghan fans.
And to finish, I would say congrats to Monaghan who had a great season and were very worthy winners over the two legs. Best of luck to you in the Premier next year.

I wonder how much bunting there was in Cork ahead of the Shels match

Is bunting a factor in the licensing now?
