3,205 official attendance at Cork City vs Shels.

Great crowd - many Shels down at it? I'd say it ran the Bohs gate pretty close by the looks of the telly.

:D Errmmmmm !! Just the attendances.
In fairness it was a good turnout for a side that is on one hell of a losing(and maybe world record) streak.

Quick question, how come when Shels or Waterford are in Cork they get put in the St. Annes end but we get put in that little thingy next to it? Is there a cut off point for numbers or something?

Don't really care tbh, just curious if there's a reason.

Well one block of the St Annes holds about 300-400 and one block of the Derrynane holds about 80-100?? I think. There was over 100 Shels fans in the St Annes end Friday night. Can't be a numbers thing though, I saw one fan in there by himself once. I think it was Longford. Before the St Annes end was covered though, all away fans were put in the Derrynane. Have you been to TX since the St Annes end was covered?

Have you been to TX since the St Annes end was covered?

Ya a few times.

Would have had similarish crowds down to that Shels one just in two blocks of the Derrynane instead of one of the St. Annes.

Doesn't really matter, was just wondering was there any reason, might sit in the St. Annes tomorrow just to be awkward. :)

st annes could potentially be closed tomorrow - depending on the crowd - unlikely but its happened for monday night games in the past

Didn't realise that they closed it? But your right, it'll probably be a much smaller crowd tomorrow night and probably no need for it, but some people prefer to sit there, even if there is loads of room elsewhere. Also, if its raining then the lower half of the Donie Forde will be empty and you could still get wet in the first few rows of the Derrynane, whereas the St Annes end will be grand and dry for people.

As much as we try to forget, 2006 still happened and by fook it was dreadful. This season is slightly better than then but it's definitely ranking as 2nd worst in recent history.

Was a poor show from Bohs fans, Rovers sold out their allocation of 850 tickets very quickly...pity they can't open a small section of the Connaught side, I'm sure we would have brought well over 1200 fans.

Far as I can see bohs shot themselves in the foot with that one if they only gave rovers 850 tickets. Could have had 4-5000 there if they opened up another bit to away fans. I know segregation and such is a factor but surely there are ways around that.

fionnsci
12/08/2011, 2:03 PM
But sure they weren't even occupying the full Des Kelly stand, only about 5/8 of it. I know segregation is an issue but they seem to go OTT. Could've had at least a few hundred more. Also, they've had reduced numbers in the Connacht side even since the issues regarding the closure. Stupid for any team to turn away fans of any other team (or to refuse to travel to another team for that matter).

its not Bohs decision fionnsci. If the cops, who have huge control over this fixture, say we cant allow Rovers into the jodi then our hands are tied. If we cant sell out the Jodi then thats our own fault but it is a seperate issue (by the way, if you take into account the overflow in bocks F&G, id estimate that the stand was around 3/4 full).

Our original allocation to Rovers was 450, we gave them an extra 400 that they asked for.
