kilmallock 1-1 corbally. a good game of football this morning at the county venue.some excellent passing football played by both teams at times.kilmallock started very quickly and had corbally under alot of pressure in the first 20mins.corbally scored a goal against the run of play through a fergal o connell header after a ken neylon shot rebounded off crossbar after good work by ian o donoghue.corbally really came into the game in the last 25mins of first half and went in 1-0 up at half time after kilmallock were denied on the break by a great save from fyffe in goals and some super last ditch tackles by afew of the corbally defenders.kilmallock again started well in the second half and got an equaiser through heffernan i think at close range after some well worked play up the wing.corbally really pushed on after the equaliser and robbie egan in the killmallock goal made 3 great saves, 2 of which were top drawer that stopped certain goals heading for the top corner.kilmallock had a header disallowed for offside on 80mins.all in all a draw was a fair result for 2 sides who tried there best to play football on a sticky surface after the weekend rain.although a draw was a fair result it doesnt help either teams that much.

lads just want to highlight something here.alot of people post on this site about aggro at games and sidelines getting involved.in all the years im playing ball i never heard anything like the abuse the corbally team got out in kilmallock yesterday by a group of maybe 10 lads who didnt seem to have anything to do with the kilmallock subs or management.it got rightly personal towards most of the team.being honest its totally unacceptable for lads to be listening to this crap while trying to play a match on a sunday.I cant see how it will do anything but cause fights to break out in the future between so called supporters and players.we all like a bit of banter between opposition teams but when it gets personal towards lads it will only go one way and thats to cause trouble.i think clubs have a duty to stamp out this sort of carry on.if it isnt sorted we will see big bans dished out and games abandoned. faces do you have any comment to make on this?

i totally agree with you lad that some of the things that were said are a disgrace.a bit of banter and booing is fine and acceptable but that rubbish is not,i might add that its the same few every week and most of our supporters are genuine lads spuring on the team.absolute disgraceful.

thats correct roadend.no interest at all in playing in goals thesedays.in fairness to him he has been very obliging when regular keeper mark healy has been unavailable.a very good and experienced replacement but id be very surprised to see jimmy in goals fulltime for any other team.

he wants to play alright faces and turns up every week.he signed this season tho as an outfield player and has played alot of games in defence.plays in a band for a living so i imagine he doesnt want to risk hand injuries.an excellent keeper who is up there with best in town and as i said above fills in from time to time when our regular keeper isnt available.an important outfield player for our team also and coming into the midweek games its no harm to have lads who can play afew positions.

a good three points this evening in a game if carew came off the field havin won 6 nil i dont think mungret wont of complained. the only goal came on 25mins through albert slattery with an excellent header after that it was chance after chance just could not get the second goal and had to with stand some pressure in the last 10mins held out handy enough.

Aisling 5-4 Corbally

Extraordinary match played on a terribly bumpy pitch.Rob Dalton , Aidan Hurley and Brian Begley put Aisling 3-0 up by half time. They held that lead until the 65th minute when Ben Savage pulled 1 back. Anthony Cusack restored the home side's 3 goal cusion with 20 mins to go before a super Corbally fightback saw Barry Hartnett, Fionn o Connell and Savage score in a crazy final 10 mins to make it 4-4. With time almost up, Hurley won it for Aisling with a snap shot volloy from 12 yards after Corbally failed to clear a corner. In the end, a massive win for Aisling which pushes them up the table.

Really is very tight at the bottom now with 7/8 games to go (with any 2 from 8 teams still in the mix to get relegated)........a good few 6 pointers to come, starting with Kilmallock v Boro Saturday evening......If the Boro win this you would have to say that they'll be safe, but if Kilmallock were to win, the the Boro would be 5pts from relegation with a game played more........

the maddest game of football ive been involved in for years.i agree lankyboy we are sickened.to bring it back to 4-4 with 5 mins to go and leak another sloppy goal to lose the game was soul destroying.only ourselves to blame tho.we defended very poorly to give aisling afew very soft goals.we would have been hoping to get at least a point out of tonights game.I must point out that the pitch played a big part in the goals both teams conceded.it was nothing short of terrible.the sooner AA get there new all weather up and running the better as it looks class.one of the goalmouths tonight must of been 5m x 5m of pure sand.still tho 2 teams had to play on it.aisling adapted better. a massive week of fixtures ahead in whats has to be the most interesting relegation battle in ages.as abbeyvale said its wide open

we were missing 3 ,they were missing around 6 id say.in saying that tho both sides were more than adequate and id say 7 of the 9goals were scored by lads who havent been playing in recent weeks for either team.
a total game of 2 halves with alot of goals on the break.no point dwelling on it now tho.onto the next group of fixtures.alot of ball to be played yet.it would be a brave man to pick any one team from 6 to go down now.
good to see a big crowd tonight at the game.they evening games are defo more supported

how was the drive back to dublin!!!!!!
mad game alright, pitch is dreadful at the moment,it needs an awful lot of work.
it was a massive win for aisling but they will be in trouble if they keep leaking goals.thats 9 in 2 matches.
i would say its between aisling corbally star mungret and kilmallock for the drop.i think carew and the boro will be safe.
as you said still alot of ball to be played yet.
nearly forgot to mention some embarassing celebrations, firstly from the corbally bench when they equalised(subs running onto the pitch to celebrate)and secondly by the aisling player(you know who you are)who removed his shirt after scoring the winnerand ran to the corner only to realise that no one had gone with him.he also needs to go to the gym a bit more
