Great goal to win it but Fairview weren't impressive today. Up against 9 men for 80+ minutes they should be winning comfortably enough. Pike probably deserved a point out of the game. Re the sendings off I thought O'Donovan's tackle was dangerous and deserved a red, a yellow would have sufficed for Barry, didn't see the incidents for Kelleher or O'Grady reds.
I thought it was Phelan, Barry & O'Donovan that were sent off for Pike, does anyone know what games they will now miss??

Premier Survival!!!!!!!!!!
I know its early days yet lads, but would anyone like to give their guess at how many points they think will ensure Premier League survival this season?
2009/10 24pts would have been enough & 2008/09 16pts would have been enough..........
So for this season I'll go with 20pts, anyone agree?

id agree with you on that one abbey.last year was unusually high due to everybody beating gerldines.this season i think alot of teams will beat each other and i wouldnt be surprised to see alot of drawn games..i feel we could have 5-6 teams in danger of going down.nobody seems to be giving regional a shout this year.they have a big squad with good defence and good attack.they are my dark horse for the league this year.they also picked up afew handy players in preseason, aido fitz ,frank browne, shane o connor.

i was also at first half of carew game went up to view v balla second half. and what i seen was prob some of the best pass and move displays iv seen in a while carews movement off the ball had shannon in 6s and 7s they were 4 up at half time jamie o sullivan with a contender for goal of the season already 30yd screamer. kev08 i was there when john scored his first goal for carew and you could see what it meant to him everyone of his team mates celebrated with him so IMO it just another stupid and disrespectful post AGAIN from you

any report from star regional game??
Game started farily even with both teams having chances, 2 Star players were injured within 30mins and were withdrawn, Regional then scored what can only be described as a farce of a goal 5 mins before half time, Stars left full was seeing the ball run out for a goal kick when Regionals winger came behind him and pushed him with 2 hands on his back at least 10ft over the goal line, then continued to cross the ball into the box which was met by a Regional head from 2 yards (2 Regional players said to me after the game that they couldnt believe the goal stood), anyway into the 2nd half and Star had 2 good headed chances off target, before Regional piled on the pressure with 3 or 4 half decent efforts, and were happy to see the game out at 1-0.....another close run game for us, and having played View, Mungret & Regional already we now have Pike away and Balla at home up next (thats 5 of last season's top 6 teams in our first 5 games, but then again thats the joys of playing in the top tier), roll on Sunday away to Pike.

no it wasnt a great game, but boro did what they had to win, deserved it all tho, they wanted it more, ashling will struggle i think.sending off was very harsh, 2 yellows, one for stopping goalie taking quick kick out, other for pushing a player away from his team mate on the ground being abused, at 3 mins to go...
Kilmallock manager certainly showed his class after the game "Don't f'ing worry lads, ye've to come out to Kilmallock yet" The ref sent the players off, not Corbally.

lads was at the carew and shannon match aswell and taught carew were outstanding all over the pitch their passing and movement was second to none and they scored some cracking goals, o sullivan with another cracker and john boyle was outstanding took all 4 goals very well, pa boyle and steven grant in the middle and danny colbert and mark sla on the wings linked up brilliantly with the front men to create some outstanding play 13 goals for and 1 against in first 3 matches not a bad start.......

Come in shannonman...any sign of you, what's the excuse tonight? what was the Shannon Town team?
When are carew going to play someone decent?

wrong mate it wasnt the manager.

first off i cant fault our lads as we were minus 6 and the lads that came in gave there all.i promised i wouldnt talk about the refs this year but in all fairness he was ****.we had 8 yellows and corbally had none.he gave us a penalty after sending off a corbally lad and than changed his mind and gave a free outside box.he absoulutely screwed us.
He was pretty poor ill give you that... only watched first half and Killmalock looked the more likely to score and by right should have scored... but if you dont take your chances then you dont win matches..
lads is it my imagination or are pitches geting very small.

your havin a laugh ya?? balla have played kilmallock at home and played the same shannon town team (also at home) that should of beaten them out in bateman
and that carew stuck seven past. balla played 1 good team and lost. any team who scores 7 goals again another premier team deserves credit. looking at the fixtures abbey has put up carews next game is against fairview at home this will be a good test for carew

fair enough, its hard not to be frustrated when that happens, alot of teams strugling for numbers tho, hows the pitch yer pitch out there these times years since i was out there?
