If Dundalk are staying full time he won't be there either. That's the reason he's gone from Drogheda. Would wager he'll play LSL or something again, perhaps back with Glebe North

Dundalk train in the evenings, if they really want him they'll accommodate him but they've already Ebbe,Kenny, Gaxha, Horgan, probably alright in ST/wide areas.

Assume he’ll be off to Tallaght. Huge loss for us.

I think Dundalk are FT, but def training evenings to suit the new market of players that are needed at this level.
Meant to be 5 more joining before Fri, 1 loan, 4 perm, that should be us then in terms of the 2025 squad.

I see Flores as our starting LB (Unfortunately)with possibly a loan deal to offer cover together with Mountney as cover RB .I don't see any other reason why Flores was kept on as he will definitely not feature in Midfield
God help us.

Derry are apparently in talks with Liam Boyce. Interesting to see how Lynch accommodates him and Hoban (and to a lesser extent Mullen) into the same team. Boyce comes with a big reputation and experience but hasn’t scored a goal this season and only scored one in each of the previous 2 seasons, so isn’t coming back in flying colours although he’ll still want to start most games you’d imagine

There was a feeling higgins relied too much on older players. Derry have already signed Ferguson and now linked with Boyce. Not sure this will work.

now that the LOI PD will, incontrovertibly, be a full-time league, shouldn't all its players now be entitled to have a Wikipedia entry?
I had understood that this was the alleged reason why they didn't qualify on grounds of "notability", meaning only players who'd played in other leagues (or in European group stages maybe?) have entries.
Seems a bit incongruous that the likes of Sean Boyd or Mark Coyle don't get one, yet some teenager who comes off the bench for Bromley will have one up by full time.

Ed McGinty confirmed at Shamrock Rovers
Biggest loss of the season for Sligo? He made some amount of saves in the games Vs Bohs that I saw. He definitely lived up to the adage that a good keeper is worth 9+ points a season. The only question mark on him for me would be that his distribution seems a bit erratic at times.

Yup. Even when we lost 7-0 to Drogheda he was our best player. Could have been 14.

Probably, he definitely was worth 9+ last season. Ellis Chapman is another big loss and Morahan always gave a good performance.
We will move on and I trust John Russell to have done his homework on replacements but I don't envy his job.

I'd imagine it's to do with the fact he's facing a drink driving charge and the club have done a hell of a lot of work on road safety in Donegal

Sounds like he could be another Leon Pohls, worldie saves but v suspect with his feet.

Not a good couple of months to add to Ryan Rainey’s admission of Gambling issues.
I expect it will be Derry City’s fault, as usual.
Sligo have moved to replace Ed Mcginty with Sam Sargeant.

The Drogheda/Bohs transfer saga of where will Frantz Pierrot play this year has been answered. And that answers is… Velez Mostar of Bosnia :)
They’ll be playing in the conference league next season so he could well face one of the Irish sides

Disappointed to see Sam Sargeant leave Waterford, he was decent, perhaps Long didn't fancy him for whatever reason, but with two new keepers coming in during the week has me intrigued, especially the Cork City GK from last season, I've already forgotten his name >.>

You're correct, going by their guidelines it should be possible now. I do find that a lot of the people on there that approve articles have an incredible sense of authority and general arsiness about them.
Despite the league not being fully professional up to this point, you can still get an article through for players that have only played LOI in their senior career, so long as it’s well referenced and there are a decent amount of articles with them in national papers that you can link. For example the likes of Jay McClelland, Anto Breslin, Jamie Lennon, Greg Bolger etc all have one.
Here’s a Sean Boyd article I created yesterday after seeing your post here. Will do a few more if I have time

Extratime’s one is probably the most up to date one I’ve seen. Although there are still a good amount of errors in it (for example shamrock rovers only have a squad of 3 players for this year apparently :))

Not sure about the First Division but @chippie1974 on Twitter puts together a fairly updated spreadsheet every so often for squads in the Premier. Have found it quite helpful for keeping up with things in the off season.

They’re now also apparently talking to Robbie Benson to keep up with that theme. Gavin Whyte is due to sign but is only a spring chicken by Derry standards at 29 in a few weeks, he should be a good signing. A crocked Benson less so.

That Towell to Dundalk rumour does seem to have some substance based on today’s reports. Unless he signs for a Dublin club, which looks very unlikely, you would think Louth would be his only other possible options.

Benson sort of makes a kind of sense. I'd be a wee bit worried about Derry's midfield being light on numbers and light on creativity with Patching and Fats gone. But yeah, this could also be another player that other teams have already had the best of.
Just had a wee reckoning with how old I'm getting. Saw Benson's birth year as 1992 and thought "ah, he's only a boy" before realising that that makes him 32 and makes me... older.
