Ive since heard who the referee was and it does not surprise me one bit, he has a long history of incidents in the league with teams and im sure there is history between him and the bridge! In saying that the Old Bridge are prone to sendings off so i would presume they are not no angels either way!

at the end of the day as stated in an earlier post the ref is not to blame,,,,most of the players are playing long enough to know about abusing the ref or even giving cheek to the ref, no matter who the ref is.....

Tipp town v saints b now put forward to 11 o clock with 3 officials , is that a 1st for 2nd division game ? Must b expecting a lively one !

Must be a few games off today, TSDL making sure the referees dont lose out on their few quid! Might venture over to Tipp Town, should be interesting!

Sanits opponent's today 'Greenwood' were a very poor side. They had a few lads that were "carrying a bit of Condition" They had a couple of half chances but it was an easy day for Saints. Cahir unlucky, winner scored in last minute of extra time. Heard Celtic game called off after 5 mins. anyone know why?

rightboy
20/01/2013, 6:40 PM
Greenwood were out of their depth as saints got job done very early !
saints b had a cracker of a game with Tipp town finishing 1/1 it had everything red cards , goal mouth incidents and some extremely dodgy decision from the ref , saints would be happier with a very young side who had to stand up and battle against a more physical and experienced ttfc team 7/8 of the saints team were under 21 and the policy of blooding the younger player s in the b team is been much appreciated by the supporter anyway well done both teams for serving up a proper derby !

It was called off about 30 mins before kick-off. The ref deemed the pitch unplayable.

I asked one of the official the same and he said from now on all local derbies are going to have 3 officials , I wonder would it have anything to do with Cullen / st nicks game recently were u had 4/5 players sent off ?

SgtBilko

Its all to do with making them a few extra quid, thats nonsense about derbies!

a club lotto, a bit of fund raisin...jayses a 100 euro once off is nothin to worry about, maybe 2 euro at the gate would pay it as i imagine a few would have went to watch.

qwertyabu
23/01/2013, 7:19 PM
there is no way any team outside the premier could charge money at the gate,,, the quality of the football is shocking,,the usually thing to do is have a bucket at the gate for donations....but first of all you need a crowd and i dont think the crowds are there....there was 70-80 i heard at the tiip town st michaels game on sunday.

rightboy
23/01/2013, 7:33 PM
Ya and Tipp town charged €3 at the gate I believe they made a handsome profit as there was a good crowd at gate so rather than focus on the negative of it why don't u look at it in the positive as it was a deemed a big local derby and not necessarily a 2nd division game , anyway all these blabbing about 3 officials takes away from what was a cracking game by 2 evenly matched team who went at each other from the off !

West Hammer
23/01/2013, 7:40 PM
70/80 was about 40 more than were at the St Michael's Munster Cup game !! The quality of a lot of Premier football this season is also shocking.

Tipp town and rosegreen probably two best sides but glen villa have the points on the board and with only 4 games to go for them, if they can put strongrest team on field with all there gaa players they may have enough to stay top. Kilsheelen in with a shout aswell so making for great run in.

All divisions look tight this year bar division 1 which cahir should win handy. Looking forward now to second half of the season.
Some tasty tipp cup ties aswell : saints vs Cashel, cahir Vs clonmel town will be cracking games.

Best of luck to all

2 evenly matched teams alright 1 all was a fair result, but in fairness if a ref cant do a game like that on his own (2nd division) there is something wrong

It's a lot to ask amateur players to play less than 48 hours after togging out for the TSDL! League carn't have it both ways getting Oscar Traynor game played and Prem games on same weekend.

Was told at work tonight that there are big changes in Tipp FM. Hopefully the local soccer coverage will improve. The lads who do the GAA are gone as is Muiris Walsh. Apparently they have hired a new head of sports.

they should get someone from tipp to cover the teams around the area and someone from clonmel to cover the teams in and around clonmel,,,between 2 people they should cover most of the teams and then the tsdl will get the coverage that they need and deserve,,,,anyone have toughts on who should be the people to cover the league. i would like to start off and say get brendan lonergan to cover the tipperary area,,,,,,an honest man (for a saints fan)who would give a good account of the league the town and surrounding areas

complexman

I'm not raving about him. Yes I said a few times that he is excellent on the radio. I also believe John Power is very good as well. Im just being honest here. I like all soccer fans, want to see the best coverage given to soccer. I like Muiris but he only started going to games when he got involved with Town. Plusi think he is a Gaa man first. It's not personal

Blossom is an out and out gaa man first and foremost no doubt ! I think maybe someone outside Clonmel could do it for a change anyone from cahir , cashel and Tipp town even an honest ttfc guy could do ( if there is one ) ha ha but on a serious note I think the Tsdl does deserve better than what it us getting from Tipp fm what is needed is a football man not a man who tries to wear his gaa hat and soccer hat when it suits

Oscar Traynor game getting called off has caused a real headache as to when it can now be played in Wexford. Clonmel Celtic have Munster Cup game next Sun and FAI week after. Could be a mid week game under lights !! Wexford youths ground may be used.

Yes I believe young Slattery asked to join saints last week not sure about Barnsey but young Slattery is a good signing , I suppose with his strong saints and Tipp town connections he was always going to come over ! His a big loss to cashel not sure what's going on there they really haven't kicked on this year

From a Cashel Town point of view we were disappointed to see him go,but when a club like St Micheals come in for you it's always hard to turn down.

He has been our best player this year and making the Oscar traynor squad he was always going to be noticed.

We'd all like to wish him the best of luck and will no doubt be a great addition to the St Micheals team.

Well said but it needs to be said that the initial approach came from the player and his family to be honest I don't think it's any reflection on cashel I think the young lad wanted to play for saints

What's your point, those three are all one parish. Clonoulty- Rossmore equals one parish, two villages, one parish.

People from Templetuohy do not consider themselves from Moyne and so on, but these places always join up it goes on throughout the country, the same as Neath and Swansea joined up to form the Ospreys and become more competitive, the point in general is that Ronan Quirke is painful and says ridiculous things week in week out, particularly on the Tsdl when he attends 3 games a year max

Well Blossom has managed in the league and while he might not go to every game he see's a fair amount of games by the end of the season and before he was taken ill Muiris Walsh was a regular every Sunday in the Complex

Fair enough I suppose. Blossom is caught between Gaa and soccer. I wouldn't consider Muiris a football man. He is a GAA man first. He was a great Club man for Town, however I never saw him at a match before he got involved with Town. I also think Ronan does a good job with the show. I think people are being unfair to him
