We played well in the first half and were 1-0 up at the break.
2nd half we just didnt play at all, and in fairness Corbally played well in patches, and went 2-1 up with 15mins to go, we levelled it with 10mins to go and pushed on for the winner but got cuaght on the break and lost 3-2.
Paul Lonergan was on the bench last night as he was on hols last week when we beat Herbertstown, so we stuck with the same eleven that won that game, for last night.

We've a big one on Sunday away to Charleville and as much as ye all love to see Star lose I think one or two of ye might be actually shouting for us on Sunday.

I wouldnt say Pike won easily enough in all fairness,
and yes I should have scored, but thats probably why I play at the back (ha ha) and it wasnt the only chance we had as Brian Doherty had a great chance with 5mins to go as well, and in saying that if Pa Barry was playing he would have ran riot on their right full, and the fact that Locky and Derek Hannon were at a wedding the night before didnt help either, but if thats the best the Premier league has to offer we wont be frightened of any team in town, and we should stay up easily enough.

didnt say top 5 but the last bit of above is gas............

on the subject of refs screwing teams, i heard Mr McNamara favoured the Boro big time against Aisling last night.. i recall him doing the same the other week- again at the Boro club, against Pike Rvs.

Okay, he blew up for one of our players being injured in the 2nd half when ye were looking to counter attack... but we certainly feel he gave a few bad calls against us aswell, so - 6 of one and half a dozen of the other...

dont know what game ye were at lastnite lads.if ye think mcnamara screwed the boro ye must be blind.watched da game and bar 1 free to the boro aisling defo got more of the decisions.what about all the offsides he was calling?id say the decisions were about 60/40to ul .they still seem bitter above in pike bout losing to the boro.get over it lads will ye!regarding referees this season the quality of referees is very poor.I know its a thankless job and wed have no games without them but there making some bad bad decisions affecting every team this season and mr mc namara seems to be involved in alot of it.anybody agree regarding the refs?

regarding balla, they have had a great start to the season so far,but they have dropped 4pts at home.my opinion is that playing in bateman will be a big hinderance towards ballawinning the league.they are a good footballing side who would win nearly every game if they played on a decent pitch.as we all know, bateman is a pitch you cannot play football on.wny replies from the balla lads?is my opinion agreed on by anybody else?

afew interesting results from todays games.pike left it late, boro were lucky to get a draw by all accounts against 10men of fairview for most of the game.boro are struggling at the moment.dropping points at home.good wins for star and corbally.charleville and herbertstown already look in trouble.regional go top.bar the boro defeat the dooradoyle club are progressing nicely.with the wins for star and corbally aisling are down by the bottom.so much for them being league contenders

both teams scored very lucky goals and both keepers pulled off a couple of fine saves each, Purcell made an excellent save in the final minute, the view keeper(dont know him) made a very similar save in first half from a.carroll
youngest view team i have ever seen.. boro the same.. it was like watching a youth match from a few years ago , have to say gaga still the brains behind the view team, dont know what they'iil do when he finally retires.. dont think boro have had the same 11 players in any match this season, injuries and hols still affecting them. missing 6 from squad yesterday 3 injured and 3 on hols...image other teams are suffering as well.. looks like a tight league this season....

Aisling are missing alot of key players through injury, they should be back to full strength in two weeks. I am sure they will push up the league then.

Did John O'Neill step down as manager? Is he still involved in the club or what's the story?

joeSoap

I was at my first junior game of the season yesterday watching Pike play Granville. All I can say is that the standard of junior football is slipping a lot if this was anything to go by. Granville packed 11 behind the ball, and Pike were pretty clueless as to how to break it down. Eventually they got what they deserved when Keith Hartnett got the winner, but they were totally devoid of ideas up to that. Dave O'Grady was the best player on the field, closely followed by Hartnett and Colm Enright. For Granville, only Gary Power looked good. Connie and Casey have a lot of work ahead of them if this is what they're churning out.
