Declan Considine in todays Star "Keith(hartnett) is only 22 but he's a good a player now as Barry Flynn was for Ireland when he was at his very best", thats a very brave comment!!

Seen Hartnett a few times, he is a good player but he is far from having the same influence on a game as Barry Flynn. Declan, thats nearly as bad as the FAI comment last year.

Does Considine know someone working for The Star or something,
How does he get to make the interviews and how do they keep coming back to him, they must be amused by his comment:rolleyes:

Is Hartnett only 22??, he is one of the best players in town, a central midfield player who scores lots of goals.

It was just before half time, Aisling were 1 up and the ball broke outside the Aisling box 50/50, two players went for the ball, nothing malicious in the challenge, Hope the lad makes a speedy recovery. It looked like a nasty injury.

What happens now? Do they replay the game with Aisling 1 up?

Roadend
27/11/2006, 1:45 PM
Replay the game entirely I'd imagine.

Any team who have players in the OT panel may request that their game be off by contacting the FS. Sometimes teams take the option of playing while missing a player.

Hi Mitre

I presume you are referring to rule 2

"A player who has lost his junior status, ie who has played more than 5 senior matches in the current season is ineligible to play in these (LDL) competitions"

Just to point out the LDL reference to 5 Senior matches is a quote from an old FAI rule that has been superseded many times over, the actual rule states that a player who has "lost his Junior status" it would be prudent to say if a player has a junior status he is eligible. the key is if the player has a junior status, and the new FAI rules are clearly falling on the side of Junior clubs in relation to this as the players can return to junior status but once they do the player is then unable to return to senior football for almost 18 months. This is a rule that needs to be challenged by the clubs at the next AGM.

so with the ruling from the fai it makes it clear that the players will not be jumping between leagues for pre-season etc. why do the ldmc have to implement their silly rule on this also. It is the only league around that has this as far as i know. Plus the players can play in the national cups which make the leagues rule even worse !!

Hi Goals

Dont shoot the messenger, The LDMC can only implement the rules as agreed by the clubs, If the clubs wish this rule to be altered or changed it will be. However I do think that the rule is one that is over written by the changes in the FAI rules on junior status. Any club that needs clarification on the status of a player in relation to this rule should contact the League secretary who will no doubt bring it to the attention of the committee.
