Every team has to deal with injuries, lads away for the weekend, Munster games etc. If a team wins the league its because they have had the best results over the season with the SQUAD of players they have.
Perhaps teams should get deducted points if they have no injuries throughout the season.
So we shouldnt be able to help teams that have injuries is that what your saying
well lets see how they get on so but limerick soccer got strong because teams were helped and will only stay strong if that continues

I Know I said I wouldnt But just cant resist!
No team should be allowed to have a game off because their players are injured. The whole idea is to develop a squad and utilise this for the season, the team with the best squad is always going to shine as there will be players missing for one reason or another over the entire season. But you are right when you say that SOME teams got strong because they were helped, the idea is to level the playing pitch and have ALL teams supported within the rules

back to the league on sunday and there is two crackers to look forward to
pike v regional
carew v balla
pike to beat regional by the odd goal there starting to play well over the last month should be a great game. if pike can keep franky quiet up front they should have enough for regional conny seems to have a few headaces on sunday mornings in midfield on who to leave out sniffer and funnicaine were this weeks duo. in fairness excellant options to have very strong.
PRED 2-1 PIKE
carew to beat balla in the other one balla must be on a downer over sunday this game has been switched to the boro acording to ldmc website why i dont know. i must say o connor has proved me and alot of people wrong a guy was telling me last week carew have picked up no red cards this season when did you hear of a carew team like that they normally have 2 or 3 by now nut cases. could it be after years upon years jason o connor of all people has finally got discipline above there. st carew park :D
PRED 2-0 CAREW

pike v regional

charleville v corbally
carew v balla
this looks like the most important weekend so far in the premier league this season, the looser of carew and balla would look too be out of it.........
Ronald

Pike V Regional is a big game as is Balla v Carew.
I think that wins either way will give a great air of confidence to the victors but for the defeated team being out of the race, I think not, it's a bit to early there is alot of games to play before May/June '07..

50 % of of those people up in the ldmc dont know nothing about football.there just intersed in getting one over each other.they didnt have a website until u got it organised some would be happy do just tag along and be still in the darkages u should post away.the only ones bringing the committee into disrepute are the couple bad apples that dont want to move forward with the times.u get my vote old keeper
i expect if 'the ref' was part of the ldmc they would probably try and stop him informaing people of the rules of the game via the web also !

that's a load of b****x jason and you know it.. you probably wern't even at the game..Yes it was a deserved straight red for his retaliation on Hartnett but the ref still gave a Regional free kick.Maximum he'll get is a 3 match ban. On a seperate note great to see frankie scoring against his old club and a comedy celebration to boot!

anybody who knows B.Conway knows that giving a guy a punch is not his form ,He takes some kickings in most matches and gets very little protection as a rule.. i cant condone what he is alleged to have done yesterday but maybe he was provoked to the point of no return,,, of course Pike would never intimidate or provoke an opposition player like that..Well done frankie...

thats b0ll0x leather .. you weren't there so have no idea of the incident, it was keith harnett who fouled him and anyone who has seen him play will know hes not that type of player. they got tangled up as they were chasing the ball and out of frustration he turned around and thumped him. Actually it was more of a slap that anything else but he had to go. Staight red and they only bad incident in a very clean game .... and as for that comment about pike intimidating or provoking opposition players, thats hilarious considering the two angels ye have players up front for ye.
back to the game and regional in my opinon deserved the point, we never game out for the second half after completely dominating the first. happy for frankie as well - top bloke and a great pike man!!!!

Conway swung out from bring pulled back not even sure that he ment to hit Hartnett just push him away.
Pike should have been 3-0 up by half time. I think that when Conway was sent off that Regional came into the game(maybe he did them a favour by being sent off).

I didn't say that hartnett was responsible for what happened and yes there are no team with 11 angels. i was just giving my view that Conways action were totally out of character, what was he frustrated about?.i was shocked to hear that ye conceeded from 1-0 up not your form at all.
MitreSize5
13/11/2006, 7:49 AM
he was frustrated because up until that point regional were getting the complete run around and chasing shadows, as often happens his sending off pulled them together and they took over from there, you couldnt have any arguments with their equaliser

13/11/2006, 8:44 AM
Thought Regional deserved a point, especially playing without Danny Galvin, Mike Behan and Mark Sheahan for the game, Pike totally dominated the first half possession wise but throughout the whole game there wasn't any clear cut chances for either team, the sending off was deserved but i don' think it was a punch, Barry just swung his arm back as he was being pulled back by Hartnett, the ref did give a free out to Regional, nothing like the Earls incident that's for sure, Regional played the better football in second half without creating much until Frankie finished very well at the end.
All in all a good game to watch and a fair result.

Thats true. They set the precedent that if you punch a player you get 12 months. And rightly so.

I imagine that council will have to go on the ref's report on the incident. If it was a slap as some of the posts are saying and the referee also says that, i dont think and doubt that anything like 12 months will be handed down. It Not as if he put him in the hospital looking fwd to a huge dental bill...
Goals4fun
13/11/2006, 9:24 AM
as conway was dancing through a few tackles , hartnett stuck with him and was dragging out of him (as goes on in the game) , as they tangled conway swung out with one arm and he was turning and swung a punch as hartnett was falling (still remember both players were running). There was intent to strike a player but not in the form of mr Earls (1 year) or Mr bennis (3 months) this year.
The ldmc have to wage where it meets on their scale of discipline and for me about a month should be givin for striking another player. By doing this the ldmc will clean up the game whihc has been lacking in recent years.
Now back to the real stuff, the game was a good keenly contested. pike should have been 3 up at half time. In the second half when conway was sent off, pike stopped working (maybe they thought the 3 points were in the bag) and regional controlled the ball. No real clear cut chances and from a set piece Frankie got a great strike from the resulting cross to level the game.
What hasn't been mentioned yet was pa mitchell's retaliation to the incident..it seemed as if he struck out at Conway when the melee insued and was very lucky to get only a yellow..Also Conway was leaving the field without complaint and was antagonised and abused by Droog.. The ref also saw this through the crowd of players but only gave him a warning.

get your facts right.
mitchel pushed a player. which is only a yellow. If you think this deemed more , they MR Conway should be looking at a year suspension (weigh it up).
Droog did not abuse the player and actually said nothing. he was wrongly identified. One of the other pike players said something like 'it can only be a yellow' when the ref was getting the book out to deal with mitchel (probably in hope to pursuade the ref). the ref looked through the crowd of players and called Droog over. End of story.
It is amazing what some people hear and see at football matches (or make up)

"nothing like the Earls incident that's for sure,"
a punch was thrown which is the exact same as the "earls incident" so he has to get the same ban!
