[QUOTE=sbgawa;1976309]Why is it not possible to spend 20/30k on a clean up and repair to one of the unopened ends.
If Bohs could sell another 2000 tickets at 20 that's 40k.
Is it really that bad or is it a case of heath and safety gone mad.
There are other grounds with very sketchy facilities that are apparently ok[/QUOTE
]even if work was done (it won’t be) it would be near impossible to get the necessary clearance in time for this weekend. Far as I know Connaught St side was declared unsafe by DCC and it is not realistic to get that reversed in time.
Bohs have Jodi, which is sold out and Cork have Des Kelly Stand. Any Cork undersell will not be sold to Bohs fans for segregation reasons.
You'll be cheering on UCD too so yeah?😛
Hell yeah, why not. See it's not just an anti Cork bias;). I don't mind as long as both of you aren't there again. Only drawback with UCD is their fans will all come in the one taxi

I will all Dublin final easy 50 k
At €10 for the cheapest tickets, €50k for an all-Dublin final crowd is about right.

UCD doing well so far. Dundalk should be down to 10 after a tackle by Cleary but only a yellow.

Cracking goal by McEleney

Just want to point out the lino and the fifth official both missed the ball going a good yard out of play for a goal kick and let play continue. The lino gave us a throw before changing his mind and giving Dundalk the throw. Never seen anything like it.
1-0 probably a fair reflection of the game so far unfortunately.

It's great having six incompetent officials instead of the usual four!

Playing on with two balls on the pitch now. Sure why not

heh, just saw that! good advantage on one hand but downright strange on the other. Lovely McEleney strike. Decent Crowd. Great advert for technique and good passing, this game. UCD growing in confidence, but Dundalk should see it out. Anything happens in the Cup though, as Stephen Alkin said.

No advantage; it was our throw and we lost possession

Only UCD could play it back to the keeper twice in the 94th minute when 1-0 down...
Still, better teams will go to Oriel and lose 1-0. I think we'll do ok next season
Been a good football year though

Yeah, good performance but a but lacking in a plan B. Kind of like us, but in the opposite way.

A very good advert for the league, UCD were good in defence and in the middle of the park. They had nothing up front though, and never laid a glove on Dundalk the whole game.
Two awful decision by the officials in the first half, a clear red card for Cleary and a stonewall penalty for Dundalk. Even with six officials they can't get basic and obvious decisions right.
It is terrific to see McEleney back in form, making his detractors look as foolish as they are.

UCD had graft but couldn't create anything. I suppose it's unfair to judge their Premier Division prospects on their performance against the best team in the league. I can see them doing well next year.

My thoughts too - and away from home as well.
We showed against Waterford we can score. Davis is only a new addition; not played ten games yet. Farrugia had a spell out injured this year too. Get them a run against Premier opposition and they'll improve.
Bottom line is that's probably as close as anyone's gotten to Dundalk in the last 20 non-league-cup games, the one game against Rovers aside.
Waterford fans are for once hoping for a Cork win tomorrow as then 4th place will be enough for Europa league. People in the club seem confident that we can play in Europe next year as the new owner cleared all previous debts. It would be nice to get it confirmed officially as fans are getting excited as haven't played a European game since 1986.

I'd go so far as to say it's pretty essential for the sake of the FAI Cup that Cork and Dundalk face each other in the next round.
If we have them both in the final for yet another year it's going to kill the appeal of the final as a spectacle for the many neutrals who usually go along. Plus it'll just look bad for the league. #GroundhogDay
I'm beginning to come around to your thinking.
Please think of the children, especially the neutrals

Dundalk were simply a better side. We acquitted ourselves respectably but Dundalk didn't have the off day required to topple the best in the land. Both sides will end this season pleased with themselves.

Is it not a new holding company? That was my understanding anyway. We were banned from Europe for 3 years in 2010 for that reason.

And Derry were banned from the 2012/13 Europa League for going into liquidation in the previous three years too - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/17116759
I don't see why you'd have a new name and holding company if all the debts were paid?
Anyways, time will tell. 32 years is certainly a long time to wait
Ourselves and Derry left creditors unpaid. If the creditors were paid fully, I'd be surprised if they don't get a dispensation.

I dont know that much about this stuff but if a club changes ownership, in particular changing an ownership model from a fan co-op eg to a Ltd company would a new holding company not be formed. I'd have thought that being barred from Europe really only comes in to play if a new club is formed having left debts of the previous company behind, hence why Derry had to wait 3 years before being eligible to go forward to European competition. In this case then Waterford should be give dispensation having changed ownership and holding company without avoiding paying creditors. The rule I presume is to discourage silly spending then folding and going again under a new company, if this is applied to Waterford then it is unfair as this wasnt the case and goes against the purpose for the rule imo.

Surprised to see empty seats at one end of the Jodi...although maybe they've gone down to the other end, where there definitely look to be more people than seats.

I was going to ask that very question, do the 'singing section' of the bohs support cram in to one or two sections leaving another area look empty even though the stand is sold out. Similar to Dundalk fans in the shed or in Tallaght for European games. Should be managed better to prevent that type of overcrowding. Similar happens in the Aviva at the cup finals and resulted in the collapse of a number of seats when a goal was scored and there wasnt the room and people fell in the surge. Injury waiting to happen and impossible to police if the crowd is so tightly packed.

I think it is quite an intriguing contest! Bohs have been very good 2nd half though lacking a bit of composure with the final ball bar the goal. Cork are not at the races as it is unless McNamee can make a difference now. Be gas if the answer to Cork being under pressure is McNamee and Sadlier.

Definite penalty for me. Studs up at knee height. The 'he got the ball' argument has been dead for years.
Nesta99
30/09/2018, 6:37 PM
Could only have been given for studs up as he got the ball first clearly. Not sure tbh, not clear cut. How often do you see the additional assistants do anything - was it Rob Harvey by any chance??
*ok it was Tomney as just said on RTE.

It was a toe poke and studs were facing away from the Cork player. Not a peno.

Cork undeservedly eke out a replay.

‘Singing section’ more like ‘whinging section ‘ at the end - never a penalty dreadful decision -

That was my initial impression, that the Bohs player just got there first and the Cork player kicked the foot as the ball was gone.

Bohs were Tomney'ed! Needed to get his face on camera. I was dreaming of a free flowing football final there for a while. Really hope Bohs can get the win in the replay we all deserve to be spared seeing Cork murder any more games this season

That is absolutely sickening. Terrible call by the Goal Line Assistant.
Daylight robbery to come out of there with a draw. Delighted.
Bohs missed some absolute sitters, and Nults was incredible.
Thought we edged the first half, Bohs completely dominated the 2nd up until that penalty.

McNulty was excellent. A bright start by Cork, albeit route one football.
However, when the game settled Bohs played all the football.
Cork must fancy finishing off the tie at Turners Cross.

I don't go into any game with confidence right now, we floundered second half, but happy to still be in it anyway.
