We go again?
Cabinteely v Wexford is down as 1300 on extratime, though in the report, it notes the goal was "to the delight of the majority of the 500 people in the ground"
Massive ambiguity seems an ideal way to start the thread!
Dundalk v Longford, 3,336

I'd say close to 5,000 in Tallaght alright. Maybe 4,500 to be a bit conservative.

Why don't Rovers issue official attendances anymore? They have been issuing estimated figures for over 2 years now, and for some games there are no figures available.

I gave up emailing them and asking for attendances long ago. Emailed them about last nights attendance today though, going to make a big effort to get an official figure for every game this season. Will see what they say.

I would agree 150 max away support on oriel park on Friday.
All crowds in now, so here's the first week in the PD.
Rovers 5,000
Dundalk. 3,300
Sligo. 3,000
Galway. 2,200
Limerick. 920
Bray. 650
Total of 15k and an avg of around 2,500 per game.
Some encouraging figures, also I note Limerick's crowd was slightly under what Crusaders got for a league match last month, and they are 6 points clear at the top.

Not a dig at all - it was a point of perspective that a gate at the IL table toppers was similar to Limericks gate of the opening weekend. I'm pretty sure if Oriel intended a dig a word like disgraceful or pathetic in relation to the Crus gate would have appeared....

Crusaders are a pretty soft target to take a snipe at, they'd be Belfasts 4th club and the game he's referencing was v Warrenpoint, hardly crowd pullers...

I know it's only the first game but they've 900 kids on the books and have been heavily active in the local community for decades, they're far better prepared for entering the league than a lot of the clubs that have popped up out of nowhere only to fall by the wayside in recent times. Even if the attendances halve they'll be pulling in a decent crowd if it ends up just being club members/ family going to matches, best of luck to them.

Nesta is spot on, no dig, just a comparison, as Im interested in all club attendances. However, Crusaders was a surprise that it was so low, also any since that game were relatively moderate for a club odds on to win the league, impressive too if they did manage to win it.
Pleased to see Rovers updating to official figure.

Fair enough. Crusaders are never going to attract massive crowds, at least not in the short term, but their average this season is 1237, which is better than half the teams in your Premier last season...

Crusaders are the 4th most successful and popular side in Belfast - population 286,000
Limerick are the only side in Limerick 96,000.
Crues normally average around 800-900 unless they are playing against the other Belfast sides or Portadown or Ballymena. http://www.irishleaguesupporters.com/attteam.php
They have a small but very loyal supporter base of around 600. I'd suggest Limerick's hardcore is only about 300-400.
Regarding Cabinteely, I'm still baffled by the abuse they are getting, yeah I would have rather not have had another Dublin club but they are in area far away from any other side and have great set up. I could see a problem if it had been one of the more established LSL sides like Cherry Orchard or Crumlin United because they play in areas that already have LOI clubs close but I can see Cabinteely doing well if they take it slow and don't make the mistakes of Fingal.

You're numbers are way of the mark, by almost 40,000.
The last census of Ireland says that the population of Limerick city is 57,106

Limerick - You have to remember we're playing at Jackman park at the moment. Tickets were a joke. I went with a senior and 2 kids, missed the first 10 mins queueing, had to pay full price (€12) for all of us as the guy didn't have any other tickets and then there were no seats for us when we got in.
I'm suprised they managed to get 900 in. It's the kind of plan you'd have if you didn't want people to turn up for games. Then you have the chairman telling season ticket holders to **** off too.
